Wantable Accessories Review – April 2015

Wantable is  a subscription service that offers a lot of different options. They have clothing, fitness clothing, beauty, intimates, and accessories. This is a review of the accessories subscription which sells for $40 the first month and then $36 each month after. You are able to return items you do not like and have them credit your account which I think it pretty good for this type of box.

My box came really fast!

 

The outside of the box looks like there is something spicy inside! Not wanting to disappoint neighbors with my actually tame lifestyle I pretended that there was something naughty in it and blushed my way up the elevator and to down the hall.

 

 

Blakesly Necklace: I more than sort of hate the name of this necklace. It makes me think the earrings that match this are probably named “Markesly” or some other weird hybrid of 80s boy name with a female slant. This is a pretty simple necklace and I like that it has both silver and gold tones because then I don’t have to worry about my other stuff matching. I ended up wearing this to grab some beer at a brew pub and I felt pretty trendy. It looks far better on.

They say retail it is $16 which is believable but I would never pay that for this. My box price is $8.89 which I think it fair.

Their style tip is to  pair this with a dress that features an “all over tribal pattern” which is something I don’t own nor plan to. I can just see myself going into the store and asking for a dress with an “all over tribal pattern,” and when they produce one asking the confused sales associate “what kind of tribe is this pattern from? What does it mean???”

My Style Tip: wear this while holding white wine in one hand and red in the other. Sip as needed.

 

 

Spencer Necklace Multi: I was sad that they had run out of velvet bags to keep each piece in! I suppose it isn’t a big deal but I like having everything the way it should be. It is like getting a margarita without salt, I will drink it but I will be missing something. Anyway, I really like the colors in this. It is totally a night out dancing piece! I felt sad because now that I am older I don’t go out as much. But then again I don’t really want to. Still…

They say the RV is $26.00 which I believe some people would pay. I would not. Box price: $14.44

I had to read the Wantable style tip for this item twice because it was so ridiculous. They say I should “wear this with a colored sweater!” Where pray tell would I wear this heavy metal necklace and colored sweater? Tea with Madonna?

My Style Tip: Wear this while walking the dog and when you bump into someone you know keep referring to things as a “horror” and clutch at the strands.

 

 

 

Taryn Earring Gold: These earrings remind me of Chex at the bottom of a bag. Not crumbs but not the whole Chex either. The gold looks super fake and worse yet the backing on one is super loose! I don’t have a lot to say about these except that it is unlikely I will wear them or trade them. Maybe if I can get my life together I will actually send them back. Wouldn’t that be something?

RV is listed at $12 and the box price was $6.67. Wantable gives you the tip to match this with a multi tone statement necklace. At least they aren’t suggesting you wear it with a colored sweater that has tribal print all over it!

My Style Tip: Wear this to a place you will like to visit again, you will likely have to if you want to find the backing that fell off!

 

 

Bridget Bracelet Gold: A knock off of what people got in the Rachel Zoe box. I am actually pretty excited about it because I liked the style but am never really sold on brand names. I understand that quality comes into play but seeing as how I am not looking for anything I wouldn’t feel bad for losing, I am a happy camper eating ‘smores! The weight is good and it fits pretty well!

Wantable lists the RV as $18 and the box cost at $10. They say that  one should “layer with a statement bracelet” which I would only do if I am up on my calcium vitamins or looking to bulk up my arms.

My Style Tip: Wear around a friend who bought the Rachel Zoe box and loudly comment that they “look EXACTLY the same” and that you will have to be careful because you “don’t want to mix yours up with hers!”

 

 

Final Verdict: I am happy with my first Wantable accessories box and am looking forward to next month! I think they did a good job sending me products that I liked and fit my stated wants and style, The pieces are not super great fancy quality but I did not expect that at all. Most of my stuff was of goodish costume quality and worth the price paid.
