Your Bijoux Box Review – April 2015

Your Bijoux Box is a jewelry subscription box that sends out about 3 pieces per month for around $35 or less depending on how long you want your subscription for.  I have never been good at changing up jewelry and would like to branch out a bit. I tend to wear the same earrings and necklace every single day!

So in my quest to find myself dripping in jewels I signed up for Bijoux Box.

Welcome Item: If you use a code welcome code (they send it to you via email) you are sent an extra item in your box. I recall reading another review where they also received this gift so I have a feeling this is the welcome gift until they run out but I could be wrong.

I really like these earrings because they have some sparkle but are not too sparkly. Writing that sentence was almost as confusing as writing it I promise you. I just find it difficult to convey my love of sparkle and the reality of wearing it.

My Value: Learning what it is about what I want in free earrings!

Aria Abalone Pendant

Aria Abalone Pendant: This piece was the spoiler that got me to sign up. It had an image of a woman sort of floating beneath the water and it seemed just creepy enough to wear with pride. I did not expect it to be so big but some people may like that. It did disappoint me because the resin did not adhere properly and there is a big bubble that can be seen. If you click on the picture you can see it as well.

The style card says that the “abalone style stone” makes them “dream of a walk on the beach!” I feel this is more something I can wear to a Game of Thrones viewing party. They also suggest that we “spritz dry shampoo at the roots and then tease hair into a messy chignon and style with a cool knit moto jacket with a pair of optic white trousers.” I honestly could barely read this without giggling.

My Style Suggestion: Wear this with your most slimming house dress, not bothering to spritz anything but Febreeze in your hair and only if the cute UPS guy knocks on the door.

Turquoise Layered Necklace

Turquoise Layered Necklace: This was a nice surprise and I really like this necklace a lot. The whole layered necklace look is popular right now and this piece really has a summery vibe. The style card says that “turquoise begs to be paired with all white ensembles.” I started to think about what I would beg for if I were a necklace and was startled by what a simple easy request this necklace makes.

Sorry necklace I cannot wear all white. If I am not spilling food on myself, then I am spilling wine.

My Style Suggestion: Wear with a white t shirt that says ” my other white shirt is cat hair”

Gilded Posy Pendant

Gilded Posy Pendant: I like the muted look of this necklace. Surprisingly the style card does not say much about this piece. So while you may be taking the other pieces on “girlfriend lunches” this piece is said to be stunning when “worn with this season’s amped-up take on traditional floral dresses.” I am now a little afraid for spring as these dresses sound intense!

My Style Suggestion: Wear with a face mustache to set off the gilded vibe of this necklace.

Verdict: I expected the Abalone necklace to have a better quality and the huge bubble I found made it pretty unwearable. I really liked the other pieces so I am on the fence on if I should continue with this subscription or move on. I am going to look around at other subs, however the style cards alone leave me wanting to see what will happen next.

Note: I took the pics in natural light because it shows how things look in real life. I love the nicer pics people take but it was surprise to see the items IRL.

The spoiler picture spook me. She look dead which may not be what they are going for in the picture. I ordered once last year and wasn’t impressed.

I will try it one more month. Yeah! The chick looked like a trailer for ID Network!

Seriously, you can get this stuff or something very close to it at Ali Express for a couple of dollars. But I think you should e-mail Bijoux Box and tell them to replace your abalone pendant for another without the bubble.
