Beauty Boxes have been sort of boring me lately and when I read a few reviews of different Orange Glad boxes I decided it was worth it for me to sign up. I love treats!

The box actually arrived inside of a padded envelope. Just an FYI.

Brooklyn Brittle - Lemon Pomegranate Brittle

Brooklyn Brittle – Lemon Pomegranate Brittle: I like this brittle and find it does really pack a fruit flavor. I could see me as a little kid arguing that this counted as a fruit and so I should be given one more serving per the nutritional guides pyramid recommendation. I could also imagine my parents giving in, because having twins run you into the ground.

Serve at a tea party. If you just invite your dolls and stuffed animals you will likely get more brittle!

Velvet Rope Bake Shop – Salted Caramel Apple Oatmeal Cookies: The packaging is just super cute, which makes this a great choice for gifting cookies. I can totally see how this was started by a guy who worked as a video producer. With super specific ingredients like Hepp’s Aussie Flake Sea Salt it is not tough to imagine. The treat itself is one of the best of the box. The sea salt gives the oatmeal cookie a twist that makes me forget that I want chocolate in every cookie!

Take these to the zoo and eat quietly with the elephants. They accept you now.

Two Moon Short Bread - Orange Chocolate Sandwich Shortbread
Two Moon Short Bread – Orange Chocolate Sandwich Shortbread

Two Moon Short Bread – Orange Chocolate Sandwich Shortbread: Another Brooklyn based bakery which has me imagining the bakery turf wars that must be commonplace in the area. I imagine they are akin to West Side Story where the bakeries fighting it out sing to each other dissing the moistness of various treats. When things get really heated they might throw powdered sugar on their rivals when it is raining creating a dreaded stickiness.

This shortbread cookie 100% delivers on the promise of being Orange Chocolate. There is no hint of this or whisper of that. It is what is claims to be. I very much agree that this pairs well with wine or other grown up treats. I also think pairing wine with more wine is totally acceptable.

Eat in a quiet place and ponder the chocolate orange and why you have never seen one growing. Decide to plant a chocolate orange orchard of your own one day!

Sugar Bowl Bakery - Petite Brownie Bites
Sugar Bowl Bakery – Petite Brownie Bites

Sugar Bowl Bakery – Petite Brownie Bites: I am from the Bay Area and was excited to stuff some Nor Cal nom noms in my face. I actually have had these before. They are just the right size for a small treat. I dunked mine in my morning coffee and was happy to start the day off right! I crave sweets the most in the morning and have been known to eat a slice of pie to start my day. Little brownies mean I can get my fix but in a way that won’t see me a full on diabetic by the time I am 40. Yay!

Find a small ice cream scoop and make super mini brownies a la mode! Pretend you are a giant and gobble them up!

Vermont Moonlight Cookies - Maple Shortbread
Vermont Moonlight Cookies – Maple Shortbread

Vermont Moonlight Cookies – Maple Shortbread: The maple really is upfront and center in this cookie! I love how it is shaped like a maple leaf and I felt sort of like a fancy Brontosaurus who only eats the most artisan leaves. I really enjoyed this cookie and its simplicity. I could see myself putting these out for guests in order to impress them with my rustic elegance. It would probably go over better then what I do now which is to pass out corn cob pipes.

Use these as decoration for an edible family tree you can present at your next reunion. Pick a leaf cookie off that stands for the relative you like the least and eat it while glaring at that person. Nod ominously at them when you are finished.

Verdict: This box is a little spendy and someone on MSA reviewed it giving it about a $12 value. I disagree as I think the curation should be taken into account. They include a very detailed booklet with the box that gives a lot of great info about each bakery and makes it a fun experience. I also would not have been able to try many of the treats because of my location. This is also one of the only boxes I have bought that I can use every single thing in it.

I enjoyed reading the review. I think this box would last one day in my house. I thought of Dino in the Flinstones when you mentioned a fancy Brontosaurus. I’m hungry!
