Petit Vour Review – June 2015

From what I can gather Petit Vour is run by two bunny rabbits who, sick with the cosmetics world being cruel to their kind, decided to start their own subscription box that promotes cruelty-free vegan beauty items. These same bunny rabbits hold out the hope that you will “Be Bold. Be Kind.”

Ok, I made up the part of the bunny rabbits because life is more fun when filled with whimsy. Still, with or without savvy fluffy heroes I decided to sign up for $15 a month. I signed up for 6 months and used the code “DamaskRose” and received a free roll on fragrance with my first box. I have yet to review that box because [insert excuse].

Cute Box!

This month: Bright Eyed and Fresh Faced

Fior Minerals - Organic Eyeliner
Fior Minerals – Organic Eyeliner
Fior Minerals - Organic Eyeliner (Mystic)
Fior Minerals – Organic Eyeliner (Mystic)

Fior Minerals – Organic Eyeliner: There are 7 shades that are gentle enough for sensitive skin. I was a little afraid to try it because they also said that the eyeliner was “bursting with antioxidants” and I tend to not put anything “bursting” next to my eyes. I am glad that I gave it a try because the formula really does glide on smoothly. I used a primer and happy with the staying power. My eyes did not fall out!

I did a really light swatch on my arm because I did not want it to get too dull.

There is no way I could go more than a few hours wearing this without telling someone I was wearing ORGANIC eyeliner.

Jacq's Organics - Green Smoothie Scrub and Mask
Jacq’s Organics – Green Smoothie Scrub and Mask

Jacq’s Organics – Green Smoothie Scrub and Mask: I am going to have to make sure that this does not end up in anyone’s smoothie mix! It is dry and you add water to it to form a past to scrub or use as a mask. I have not used it yet but I am liking that it “works beautifully on ANY skin and hair type.”

Mixing this up with make me feel like a chemist!

Meow Meow Tweet - Face Cleanser
Meow Meow Tweet – Face Cleanser

Meow Meow Tweet – Face Cleanser: Some people were sent the spot serum which I would have loved as anyone who reads my reviews knows I am not much of a face cleaner user. Still I figured I would give this a whirl. I like that you  put it on your face dry and then you wet your paws to cleanse. Then you rinse. I actually really like this product and am going to check out more from this brand!

I can’t stop saying this companies name out loud!

100% Pure - Facial Cleansing Brush
100% Pure – Facial Cleansing Brush

100% Pure – Facial Cleansing Brush: I am always excited to get a tool! This brush is soft and the perfect size for getting at my dirty face. I will get some good use out of this because it can be used with scrubs and with cleansers! I am glad the synthetic fibers are antibacterial because it would be a huge shame if I thought I was cleaning my face but in reality I was just rubbing a petri dish of yuck on it.

My head no gets more brushing than ever! Teeth, hair, and now face!

Verdict: I am glad I signed up for Petit Vour because they are keeping things interesting and challenging me to be more alert about the different product I use. I like that they kept with their stated theme and the products included were from brands that I have not had a chance to try yet. For the price point the box is worth it!

Shana – thank you for the wonderful package! I was nearly in tears today because I am so frustrated. I have appointments around my house, run to the farm appointments there, and a tight schedule to make it back to my regular house by 6. It cheered me up 🙂

I thought about trying this box, but am doing Goodebox and Vegan Cuts (actually I got lucky and my Vegan Cuts ran out last month. I am not interested in anything in this month so will rejoin when I see a box I am interested in.)

I love Goodebox because it has an intensive survey which does a good job in helping them select products I can use . I’ve been able to use everything they selected for me except for the Eslor products because of the aloe and the MyChelle Eye Cream. I can’t use aloe on my face and am uncertain about the eye cream because of my face/eye issues. I would use the eye cream if I didn’t have those issues. I love the MyChelle serum I received from Goodebox a few months ago.

Does goodebox do lifestyle products as well? I’m interested! If there is a referral link you have email me.

You are all making much more curious about ingredients. Both my parents had cancer, my mom is a breast cancer survivor and I really should be better about what I’m using!

I didn’t see a referral link. My mom died from breast cancer when I was in my 20s.

My dad died of cancer when I was 17. My mom survived breast cancer. I am sorry for your loss. Ugh, I’m even more sorry for all the thoughtless weird comments you heard when your mom died. I know people do their best but sheesh, some stuff people said was perplexing. Lol I have never been much into holidays, and neither was my dad. I felt so bad when someone asked me what I was doing for my dad for Father’s Day. I feel so bad for the person I have to tell because THEY feel so bad about it. Sorry to prattle on but I just have found it interesting.

I’m glad you are being so smart about ingredients!

Thank you. I am sorry about your father.

Sometimes they include lifestyle items. A good example is the bag that came in the Jan box. My bag is orange and blue which was promptly claimed by my younger son. His color is orange. He has used it ever since for his DS. Never lost the bag.

Thank you for your kinds words as always!

In high school I had orange hair at some point! LOL It looked so bad on me. I will look for the picture/ask my twin sister. If she can find it I will email it to you. It is pretty hilarious how cool I thought I was. I honestly thought I was super indie.

I had pink hair for a while in high school. When are you going to post your LLB review? How can I comment the name of the scrub is a reference only us old-timers are going to get.?

A hahhaha! I’m writing the LLB but there are so many emotions. It’s like maybe I should wear a tin foil hat.

I have a love/hate relationship with Petit Vour when I had a sub. I found amazing products through them. I usually can use 1-2 items in each box. For example in this box I can use the scrub and the brush. I can’t use the cleanser because it has witch hazel on it and am paranoid about using anything around my eyes because of my eye disease. It’s not their fault I have issues.

Meow Meow Tweet is a fun name. I agree that the pricepoint is worth the risk of not being able to use some of the products.

Agreed. I think natural products sort of fall on some old hat ingredients that can be polarizing. I wish there was more incentive for more natural products to innovate.

Thank you so much! I’m always excited when people come here and read/comment because they have so many choices! Now if only I could get people in real life to like my opinions lol 😉

Lol I was at first taken aback because I just finished Holly Madison’s “down the rabbit hole” book and though “WHOA how did she know I was reading trash books?!?” Hahahah a

If you don’t get any more products from Meow Meow Tweet, I am going to doubt your status as a true crazy cat lady. Because a real cat lady would be all over that 😉 My aunt is one (50 yo, 9 cats) and I’m heading to their website now to find her the perfect gift.

LOL I have been lurking on their site for awhile now. Just sorta talking myself into it. It is like the most awesome thing for my people!

I only have one cat. I don’t think I could take care of 9. I fret over this one so much it is insane. I do daydream about starting an army of cats. We don’t take over anything… well… maybe America’s heart…
