I decided to order this box after perusing Letitia Elizabeth’s website. Letitia Elizabeth is the curator of Decoterie, a quarterly box of ” hand-selected lifestyle products and exclusively designed homewares.” The Decoterie Summer Box 2015 is the debut box. There are a lot of pictures because it is the first box. You’ve been warned!
Subscription: Decoterie by Letitia Elizabeth
Cost: $150.00/Quarterly, $575.00/1 year
What to Expect: “Limited edition homewares, textile goods, decorative accessories, and unique objects of desire. ”
The label on the box has my first name and initial of my last name and order number.
The gold wrapping holds the pillow. The second peek shows the box after removing the pillow.

Letitia Elizabeth Throw Pillow: A pillow cover with an insert is included in the first box. It sounds as though a pillow cover may be included in each box. The cover has a zipper for easy removal.
I’m not sure what happened to the pillow that was in the original spoiler. It has come to my attention that there is controversy around whether the pillow spoiler is correct. I like the design of this pillow. However, I love color and hate black and white.
Not everything is black or white. Sometimes it is grey.
Infinity Silk Scarf: This is a beautiful 100% silk raw-edge scarf.
The style suggestions are to use it as a bow tie, head scarf or hang on your purse. I can’t figure out how to do any of the three suggestions.
Is there such a thing as scarf styling remedial school?
LiveLoveSoy Stone Candle: The information card indicates that there is a variation of marble and rose gold glass. The candle is a Vanilla & Hazelnut soy candle in a Carrera marble container with a black lid.
The candle is made in Australia. I like that the candle matches the pillow. Sadly, the marble is wasted on me because I still don’t like black. Not even if it is marble. The scent is amazing and filled the air as I pulled it out of the box. I have plans for this candle. Stay tune to find out.
I feel bad for complaining about marble, but I still don’t like it.
Hawaii Not? Coaster Set: The coasters are a collaboration between Letitia Elizabeth and Rei of HawaiiNot. I would have preferred the coasters without the gold leaf trim that was added for a bit of glamour. A piece of gold leaf trim came off when I unwrapped the coasters. I do find the colors to be a beautiful blend.
I want to know the story behind HawaiiNot.
Leather Case: This is the second spoiler. The leather case is smaller than I pictured. It is too small for my cell phone. I may use it to store pencils as the card suggests. I am open to suggestions! It is crafted by hand and has ivory contrasting threading. I’m sorry for the way the pictures are displaying. It does not look like that in the working version.

Ceramic Tray: The ceramic tray is handmade. The tray is a collaboration between Letitia Elizabeth and Natalie of PlumEtPapier. It has my name on it with a little heart. It is perfect for holding rings.
Why does everything sound better in French?
Extra Gift – Thank You Notes by Annie Taylor Design: Everyone should receive an extra gift. I love the colors of the thank you note. There are 4 thank you note postcards with envelopes.
People will be impressed when I hand them thank you notes while wearing a matching scarf.
Verdict: I have mix feelings about the box. I am a person that is sensitive and responsive to the colors in my environment. I love color and dislike white and black. The pillow and candle are hard for me to like. This is not the fault of the curator.
I am too plebeian for the box and lack the proper appreciation for the items sent. I had high hopes for the box based on the items I saw on her website. I noticed that sometimes I enjoy items from a box more as time goes on. This may be the case.

I love color in my home decor, black and white with a pop of color can be fun. I don’t “get” the leather case, for a checkbook maybe?

This is true about black. I feel bad about being down about the box. It seems wrong to not like a marble candle. I can’t believe I am complaining about a $60.00 marble candle. The scent is amazing. I haven’t burned it yet, because I have plans for it.
I was really tempted to order this box based on the aesthetic of her Instagram but decided against it since $150 + shipping is a lot for me personally to risk on a new sub. I’m glad I did. I doubt I would have used most of these items. And I don’t fully get a “luxe” vibe from this box; perhaps because I’m not seeing it in person to fully appreciate the quality of the materials. I am still considering the fall box (depending on a good spoiler). Home decor related boxes are much needed in the sub world but so tricky to satisfy so many different people with different tastes and decor styles! I wish Letitia success because she obviously seems to be passionate about decor and making things personal and meaningful.

The pillow is nice but not $115 nice and it’s not the one I remember seeing in the spoilers i don’t think .. now I really want to see what pattern everyone else got! (google here I come) 🙂

When I received my Decoterie box Saturday I was ecstatic! By Sunday I felt it was not so “luxurious”. My pillow is bright red and black, the gold trim on my two coasters flaked off during transport…but the colors are beautiful, the candle I received is solid rose gold, beautiful, I have no idea what to do with the little leather purse thing but it smells good so placed it out of sight in the bedroom…the rest was nice. Did not add up to $150 plus shipping, imo…and I have a yearly sub…
Micaela – I do hope you like your box! The solid rose gold candle sounds beautiful. I do wish the coasters came without the gold trim. I love the colors they used.
The fall box has the potential to be amazing. This is from Letitia Elizabeth’s email, ” However, the next box will see a major bump in luxury materials as seen in our signature collection (think wool blankets and hand beaded pillows) as well as our deluxe box we unfortunately couldn’t use this time around due to the size of the pillows. ” I hope it works out for you especially having a yearly sub.
I have not gotten mine yet so I am intrigued to see the variations. Great review! I never know what to do with scarves either.

I love the box but not the coasters. My coasters came ruined. The gold was all over the place. I will use the scarf candle and pillow. The quality is not good in the coasters. Poorly made I feel.
