Faithbox Review – August 2015/Updated with coupon

Disclosure: This box was paid for by me. This post contains affiliate/referral links.

I was unable to find the core piece to the July 2015 Faithbox, which is why I never posted the review as requested. I am pleased to be able to present the August 2015  Faithbox. I included lots of pictures because this is the first time Faithbox has been reviewed on the blog. This is my fourth month with Faithbox.

This is the shipping box. I like the Scripture that is on the box. It’s a good reminder for me.

Faithbox: A variety of items are included each month. Faithbox supports companies and products with positive missions. This is my kind of box!

August 2015 Devotional
August 2015 Devotional

Everyday Faith: Time August 2015 Devotional – This is the centerpiece of the Faith box. It’s also the item I misplaced from the July box when I was gathering up last minute stuff for my son’s mission trip. I’m sure the July devotion book will show up again.

This book is designed to be used daily. It’s brief and helps you focus.

The back of the book has information on the enclosed products and discount codes.  I appreciate that discount codes are included.

There’s nothing worse than paying full price!

A classic!
A classic!

Mere Christianity by C S Lewis: C S Lewis is a well-known author whose works also include  The Chronicles of Narnia. This is the second book that I received from Faithbox I also received People over Profit by Dale Partridge in the May box. Dale Partridge is the founder of Sevenly which offers a quarterly subscription called Causebox.

A flowchart is needed to keep everything straight.

Crux Watch: The website states that they are designing their next line. According to the FaithBox booklet, 50% of the profits of each watch sold is donated to causes that assist people. The watch face is huge on me. My older son claimed it.

There is no excuse for being late when wearing this watch.

Food!
Food!

Outrageous Oatmeal Raisin Cookie by Alternative Cookie Company: This is a serious cookie weighing in at 4.25 oz. The company states that this is 2 servings. I agree. That’s a half a cookie for each hand. Alternative Cookie Company makes gourmet vegan cookies with love while using sustainable palm oil. I love their wrapper.

Time to indulge “the inner cookie monster”.

Glee Gum

Glee Gum Samples in Peppermint and Sugar-Free: When’s the last time you thought about what was in gum? I don’t chew gum and never gave much thought. Gum is made from trees! Glee Gum is made with sustainable harvest rainforest chicle. The company offers the gum as an alternative to synthetic gum. I don’t know if I want to know about the synthetic gum.

Go ahead and laugh at my gum naiveness. It’s OK.

Verdict: The Faithbox August 2015 box introduced me to new products. I enjoy learning about different companies and their missions. I also like the time theme of not only keeping track of time but to also spend it well. Faithbox has consistently sent their boxes the last week of the month to have the devotion in time for the new month.

Alternative Cookies are so good! We have been buying them for my one son who is allergic to milk and he loves them!

Thank you for commenting! That’s good to know. I haven’t tried the cookie yet. I’m a little hesitant because it is vegan. I’ve tried other vegan cookies before and did not like them.

That watch looks HUGE on your wrist!!!! Totally for a boy! But when giving it to you son or if someone were to gift it to whoever it would open up a way to have a really good conversation!

You 1000% do an awesome job with these boxes that have meaning in them!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks, Subscriptionista. They are my favorite type of boxes. The items do provide a way to have a good conversation!

This looks like a fun box. I have done For the Faithful for a few months, but think this box may be a better fit for me. For the Faithful has been good, but just too much stuff, and this month was a total fail. I like ones that help me think more about my faith, Loved + Blessed is good for that.

I tried For the Faithful for 3 months in the beginning of the year. They were running a special at the time. It was OK. For me, it felt like random items that I could pick up at the local Christian store although it is curated around a theme. Not everyone has that option though to go the local store.

This month was a beauty and fashion box, bracelets, hair band, hair ties and this really nice looking set of body lotion and shower gel. Unfortunately both are made in China and have phenoxyethanol in them so the box was a complete bust for me. So much of a bust I may just swap the whole box, but the shipping would be high on it. So now I have this box and I am not sure what to do with it….

      Hi Sub Bella,

Sounds like you had joined when we had first launched – we’d like to think it’s come a long way since then though 🙂 Also, to date, we’ve now provided over 20K meals to Christian orphanages!

I am so disappointed in Faithbox! From my experience with them, I could not in good conscience recommend them to anyone. If the make a mistake, something was missing from my box, they will not fix the problem, refund your money or offer any reasonable remedy. Beware of this company!

    • January 26, 2016 at 4:22 pm

That totally sucks you had a bad experience with them. What the the issue and what did they say?

    • January 26, 2016 at 5:23 pm

      Hi Linda,

Email me directly, Willie@faithbox.com, we always replace missing items and will resend a new box if need be. When you pack thousands of boxes, unfortunately human error happens. It’s hard for us to refund since we make all of our donations up front, but can def take care of replacing or an account credit 🙂
