New England Sack Review – July 2015

My heart belongs to New England. I look forward to my New England Sack each month as a reminder of New England. The July sack is my eighth sack.

Subscription: New England Sack

Cost: $35.00/month, $99.00/3 months, $195.00/6 months. This subscription is unique in how it bills. It bills monthly even if you select the 3 or 6-month option. In other words, you can be billed monthly for $35.00 or be billed monthly for $33.00 with a three month commitment.

What to Expect: “In each box you will receive nearly a half dozen products from delicious gourmet treats to one-of-a-kind artisanal items. Each monthly box will have a theme along with personalized touches including a wax-sealed insert detailing the local products included along with a changing array of sacks that will hold your goods.”

Look how festive!
Look how festive!

I included a picture of the items in the box because I thought the shredded paper complimented the items. This month’s theme is Summer Nights Sack.

Here are the items.
Here are the items.

I arranged the items on top of the sack. My younger son tends to take them and use them to store cars, legos, etc.

I have a no eating the food rule until I am done taking pictures much to the dismay of my family!

TaosBum Coddee
TaosBum Coffee 16 oz

TaosBum Coffee: The coffee beans are fresh artisan roasted single origin coffee beans. I believe that is a big deal. I should write as though I know my coffee. Sorry for the fuzzy pictures. I already gave the beans away before I knew the picture came out fuzzy.

These exquisite coffee beans give off a delectable aroma of beans begging to be grounded into a lovely freshly roasted coffee that can be served warm or cold. The single origin beans will satisfy even the most discerning palate.

I would be one of those people holding up the whole line at Starbucks trying to decide what to order. I know nothing about coffee except it smells delicious.

Way Out Wax Bug Out! Insect repelling candle 16.5 oz
Way Out Wax Bug Out! Insect repelling candle 16.5 oz

Way Out Wax Bug Out! Insect Repelling Candle Herbal Guard: The Way Out Candle is made in my favorite New England State known as the Green Mountain State. What is the name of the state? The candle is a soy candle that is DEET free and works as a deterrent for mosquitoes, ticks and black flies.

A two wick candle!
A two wick candle!

The candle contains Geraniol Oil, Rosemary Oil, Geranium oil, and Lemongrass Oil. It has a light scent that will not interfere with your coffee’s aroma.

The answer is Vermont!

Wildtree Watermelon Lime Frozen Drink Mix
Wildtree Watermelon Lime Frozen Drink Mix

Wildtree Watermelon Lime Frozen Drink Mix: Wildtree sells products through a representative whose link I did not include. I can include it in the comments if someone is interested in ordering. The company is based in Rhode Island. The drink is certified gluten-free and contains four ingredients. The ingredients are Organic Evaporated Cane Juice, Watermelon Powder, Lime Juice Powder and Citric Acid.

I am sitting here trying to be calm and convince myself I did not lose my car keys. Maybe the coaster conglomerate took my keys because there are no coasters in this box! To calm my brain to think I decided to check the expiration date on this item. Look what I found:

Bottom of the box

Welcome home, WIldtree. You are among your kind here.

Sweet Lydia;s Original Smores
Sweet Lydia’s Original Smores

Sweet Lydia’s Original Smore: New England Sack is a box that my family looks forward to receiving because there is usually a yummy food item. Sweet Lydia’s products are made in Lowell, Massachusetts. I thought this was a fun way to include a summertime favorite snack.

Yummy!
Yummy!

This snack did not last long in my house.

The family wants s’more and ‘smore!

A cat sleeping with the beets.

I picked up a produce box today from a farm delivering from the other side of the state. The eastern side of the state is about a month ahead growing season-wise. My garden is starting to produce and will peak in a few weeks. Look who I found curled up with the beets?

Any guesses to which cat? He’s a handful!

Verdict: I enjoy New England Sack. I have received a variety of items in my sacks ranging s from beautiful greeting cards to a maple syrup scrub.  I felt that the items reflected the theme.

What do you think of New England Sack? Do you have a regional box that you love? Do you recognize the cat? Share below and whatever else in on your mind.

I haven’t read the whole review yet because I had to rush down and comment that I giggle every time you write “sack.”

Does that make me a bad person?

You are talking to someone who is subscribed to the fantasy box 🙂

Is that kitty Puss and Boots? I need to do a better job learning their names lol

Ok this looks like a pretty kick butt subscription! I think the price point is also pretty good. I want to eat and drink it all while I scare away bugs with the candle. That box was really freaking cool I want to write stuff for boxes so bad!!!

I finished this review hoping you share stuff from your garden for us city folk!

Don’t let the Coaster Conglomerate get inside your head. They stole your keys for bargaining power to get your sweet garden delights. Why? To bribe the goats!

    • July 31, 2015 at 3:26 am

I decided it was best to give in to their demands. They left the keys by the dog leash and laughed at my silliness for not looking there.

I thought of you when I read the bottom of the box. I had to add in the picture even though I was freaking out about my car keys.

The cat is Link. He’s the same cat that sat on the table when I was ready to make a craft. I will have garden pictures soon. Do you want the drink mix? It looks like a fun drink and will go well with the paper coastes. The Coaster Conglomerate approves.

Well only if you don’t drink it. I will put booze in it! Then I will make a big pitcher of it and drink near the pool. People will expect me to share but I will only bring one large straw

Our country property which is run as a working farm is in an area where drinking is a main activity. Wal Mart is a half hour away. The nearest mall is about an hour and a half. Workers in the past thought we were Mennonites.

I think you will enjoy it!

I’ve never been to Vermont but hearing you all talk about it now I want to go! I’m in Southern California and I’m sure I’d just love the differences!

    • August 1, 2015 at 1:32 am

I love Vermont. I have to find the picture card that has pictures from a trip my husband and I took to Vermont and use a couple for my August review. This is back when we were still running the farm as a dairy and went on a Vermont dairy tour to see how Vermonters do it. It will be a different look to Vermont.

      I miss Vermont. Have fun!
