Pet Gift Box Review – August 2015

I decided Sophia my tuxedo cat deserved to get into the subscription box fun and so ordered Pet Gift Box. She is a “what have your done for me lately?” type of kitty who forgets that I spend my time cleaning her litter and not sifting for gold which it might look like.

The theme for Pet Gift Box this month is “Saturday Night Fever!”  The sticker is so cute!

 

 

 

Spot – Rockin’ Laser Cat Toy: There is a lot of talk in the kitty work about laser toys and if they are appropriate because cats can get upset if they don’t actually get to catch the toy they are chasing. From what I have read (I am NOT a vet nor anything close) it seems to be alright to use a laser  toy as long as you also use other toys so that you can satisfy all your kitties hunter needs.

I don’t personally use laser toys with my cat Sophia because she freak’s out if I do. She starts to make this chitter noise and doing weird stuff. I say to her, “Sophia… don’t be weird!” For whatever reason she doesn’t listen to me.

The design of this toy is pretty cool. It reminds me of Scandinavian type decor. I am going to try to pass this off as such at the next housewarming party I am invited to…

 

 

Whiskas – Temptations Mix Ups (Catnip Fever Tasty Flavor Medley): Temptations are usually a sure bet for most cat owners. I have known cats that from all appearances seemed addicted to these little treats. I once called the consumer number on the back of the package to see why cats love these treats so much and they told me that Temptations were “a complete treat.” I still am not sure what that means but I can tell you that most cats get addicted to these.

My cat is about the most picky kitty on earth. I already know she is not huge on Temptations so I am going to donate these and not open them. I know there is some kitty out there who is just waiting for more of these morsels!

I can imagine throwing a super crazy cat party and having these drop from the ceiling at midnight!

 

 

Spot – LED Motion Activated Cat Ball: This totally goes with the theme of this months box! It is like a tiny little disco ball that lights up when your kitty swipes it. I can tell you this is going to get a ton of use because my kitty likes to party pretty hard. I foresee myself putting on some really good disco (I almost want to Google “really good disco” to see if that sentence has been written before…) and just have a good time! Ok, I will put on some 80s dance music since that is the GOOD stuff.

I don’t look forward to when she looks up at me with her big innocent cat eyes and asks me what “The White Horse” means and “why should we ride them?”…

 

 

 

Cat Dancer – Cat Dancer: I have one of these and I actually think a diabolical cat invented this so that owners get their hands clawed up by their little fur babies. My sweet kitty turns into a feriousious beast when she plays with any dancers so having my hand so close to where she could attack is probably not the best for me personally. I mean personally I like having use of my hands. That could just be me.

I decided to go ahead and put my paws on the line and I am glad that I did! She loves this toy! She hasn’t run around like that in awhile. She loves her long dancer but this one is a great change for her. I am hoping it will help her lose a little of her “fluffy tubs.”

I honestly don’t understand why the mouse is so perplexed on the cover… Run mouse! Don’t worry about it and just RUN!

 

 

 

Nature Boy – Amazing Cat Toy: I would not go so far as to call spangle catnip stuffed mice toys as “amazing.” My kitty loves these types of toys and with this one I will only let her play with it when I can keep an eye on her. I just know she will tear them to bits and eat them. This will mean a costly and harrowing visit to the vet where I will be shammed about leaving these alone with my little fur muffin.

They do go with the theme and she will have fun with these for sure. Just within my sight!

Do you think these mice look like they are on their way to the “Players Ball?” I do. 

 

 

Verdict: I am pleased with this months Pet Gift Box even if my kitty doesn’t eat the treats. I like that they kept with a theme and now I feel 100% ready to throw a kitty dance party that will both impress and excite Sophia. She is loving her toys and it is fun to cycle in new toys (I hide the old toys) and then pepper in the older toys later so to her they  seem new again!
