SugarBash Review – July 2015

Disclosure: There are no referral links in this post. I bought this subscription with my own money.

SugarBash is a lifestyle box from a company that promises a value of around $60 for $25 (or less if you get a longer subscription) a month. I decided to check this out because I found a coupon and it seemed sort of quirky. It was a risk but I figure it might be interesting to readers since it seems to be a smaller box company and not a lot of the huge review sites are giving it any play at the moment.

Zipzicle – Ice Pop Pouches: When I first saw these I was thought what in the world!??? Then I decided to read and found out that this was a kit to basically make your own Otter Pops. This would probably appeal to the moms out there who like to make sure their kids are eating super healthy things. They DID include a boozy recipe so that was nice. I can just see myself stumbling along the beach with my mouth all red! No officer, I haven’t been drinking… just having frozen summer treat is all…

If someone touches this I can tell them to “unhand my zipple!”

Kenz Laurenz - 2 Hair Bands
Kenz Laurenz – 2 Hair Bands

Kenz Laurenz – 2 Hair Bands: I like the colors that I got, so that is good. My hair is always too thin for hair bands so I will probably gift them. That isn’t anyone else’s fault. It is always nice to get something useful in a box, and it does fit the summer theme. How often do you last at the hot pool or beach without wanting to tie your hair?

I tried to put this on my cats tail but she wasn’t having it!

SugarBash - Toe Ring
SugarBash – Toe Ring

SugarBash – Toe Ring: I have ugly feet. I do not adorn them for this reason. My toes are like “hammerhead sharks.” I also am over 30 and so, am unlikely to rock the toe ring look. Not that you can’t wear what you want at any age. I just don’t really see it as being something that would be a great idea for me. This was made in Thailand and is silver. This would be a hilarious engagement ring!

Perhaps we can all convince Sub Bella to wear this on her “succulent feet!.”

Tat2Lash - Mascara
Tat2Lash – Mascara

Tat2Lash – Mascara: I am swimming in mascara right now, so I won’t crack this open. I looked this up on the site and it is cruelty free. I like that! I want Bambi’s lashes without killing Bambi’s mother! I read some reviews of the product and people seem to really like it. I am dubious. My lashes are very hard to make pop!

How weird would it be if you could tat your lashes? I would probably get sea creatures and make my lashes an underwater scene…

Crown - Eye Shadow Trio (French Rivera)
Crown – Eye Shadow Trio (French Rivera)

Crown – Eye Shadow Trio (French Rivera): I think there were different sets sent out. I am happy with my trio colors. It is a bit of a cheaper brand so I may pass these along to someone younger to play with. The trio is pretty big and will get a lot of use though!

I thought the French Rivera only had lotion products!

Wavertree & London - Beach Scent Moisturizing Soap
Wavertree & London – Beach Scent Moisturizing Soap

Wavertree & London – Beach Scent Moisturizing Soap: This bar is pretty big and really heavy. It will probably take months to work your way though this thing! It is very fragrant. It has a nice clean scent that one would think was beachy. Funny how I have been to beaches all over the world, never smelt one like this, but still buy this as a beach scent.

I guess the smell of tanning oil, salt, and sweat is an acquired taste!

The Hatter Company - Wooden Heart Accent Floppy Hat
The Hatter Company – Wooden Heart Accent Floppy Hat

The Hatter Company – Wooden Heart Accent Floppy Hat: I was shocked when I pulled the hat out because there is no way I thought a hat would fit into the box without getting ruined. The hat was just fine. It is plain but it does have a top to it. Sometimes you need the top to product the scalp and hide any roots if you have them! The hat fits me perfectly and looks pretty good too.

Does having two sun hats constitute a collection?

Verdict: This box really matched the beach theme! It was mostly a miss for me because the product were a bit too young in my opinion. I love the hat and the entire box was saved because it looked nice when I put it on. This box is different in that it is eclectic in an odd way. I would like to see some deign improvements on the info card because it will give the box a better feel. Right now the layout makes it look a little thrown together. I am looking forward to see if next months box gets any better for me!

I bought a bunch of those ice pops thinges … I gifted one batch to a mom of a toddler and newborn you can use it for Popsicles and for formula On the go. Those cozies look nice my wee ones are just happy to get Icies when offered they have not gotten fussy over the coldness (yet).
I must have confused this subscription with one brought up on MUT I thought it was a Korean beauty sub :/

You bought these?!? I KNEW someone must have found them useful. People would totally laugh at the idea of me actually pouring something in and making an ice pop! I have limited hand movement so it makes me laugh at the idea of trying to pour into such a small thing.

The neoprene thing has been said to protect hands but I think it’s to help them stay colder in the ice chest or what not. Both!

I read one blogger washed them and re used the plastic thingies. I think she said it was alright to do so and that the company said as long as it doesn’t have holes it’s fine.

I didnt research it myself though

They are reusable would definitely do that when I get around to it. Got Popsicles makers using those for now usually just put juice…. Now if vodka could freeze I would definitely make some frozen screwdrivers *prefers frou frou drinks*

I think you could do a vodka one as long as you had the juice! Maybe I should try it! I’d probably end up spilling stuff everywhere… Hmmm

They wouldn’t be laughing and be you BFFs if you made boozy ones … Try pouring using a juicer/funnel/pourer thinge 😉

That’s true AND a good idea. I can say that whoever laughed at me laughed themselves right out of a tasty artisan cocktail frozen pop!

Ahhh the MUT general discussion forums are spotted with new Korean subs ….

I’ve enjoyed the 3b bag but I’m just not that cutting edge when it comes to beauty and so a lot of it makes me slowly shake my head. I dig euro trends a lot. Micellar solution is my holy grail!!!!!!

Love the review! Now what makes you think I can rock a toe ring when I am over 40? I do have pretty toes 🙂 The soap is humongous! I’m with Pnut that the Zipples look useful. You should market your ideas before someone steals them. Designer cat ties and sea creature lash tats.

I am trying to figure it out!!! I don’t see any comments in the spam or whatever file. I wonder if i should disable Akismit? maybe that is eating posts.

Pnut have you had posts not show up?

I love the unhand my Zipples. I can see how they can be useful. I don’t know what makes you think I can wear a toe ring when I am over 40. I do have succelent and pretty feet 🙂 The soap looks nice and heavy. You have great ideas that you need to trademark such as sea creatures eye lash tatoos and cat tail rings.

My first comment is much better.

It was weird I saw them click in my email but they were not here. So I thought you deleted them! (your comments)

LOL I lurve to say “zipple.” Can you use them? I won’t ever get around to making them. If I am making booze anything it always finds a way into my mouth before anything could ever freeze.

Well maybe I am biased toward toe rings because my feet are pretty heinous looking. I once made the mistake of commenting on a certain very loved ones toes, the tables were turned when it was pointed out that my toes look like hammerhead sharks. That will teach me!

I am absolutely buying that hat. Mercy. That hat, a pool boy, and a margarita. Who says money can’t buy happiness?

if money can’t buy happiness it sure is a start!

The hat is cute! I’m surprised how much I like it considering at first the box was a bit confusing to me

      • August 3, 2015 at 2:39 pm

I can’t find it anywhere. Was trying to buy a hat, ended up with a Groupon for wine. So… Not horrible?

I’d certainly say not! Three cheers for Groupon wine!
