Burke Decor Home Box – It’s a Throw! August (some say September) Review

Disclosure: There are no affiliate links in this post. The box was paid for by me.

I’ve been with Burke Decor since their soft launch in April. It’s interesting to see what comes in my box each month. Burke Decor is emerging on the other side of the subscription box world learning curve. Now if we could all agree with Burke Decor that the box is the August Box! I believe there has been confusion about the monthly boxes because the April box resulted in 2 boxes being sent out to most, if not all, subscribers. This had led to confusion about the box month. The theme for the August Box or if you prefer September Box is Fall Forward.

Subscription: Burke Decor Home Box

Cost: $55.00/ monthly This box can be purchased onetime, monthly, every other month, or every 3 months.

What to Expect: 3-4 home items to keep your house freshly styled.

Note: Burke Decor has made changes since it has first begin selling subscription boxes. The box I am reviewing is no longer available. A new subscriber will receive the upcoming box at the end of September.

First look
First look

I believe the way to most subscription box subscribers’ hearts is a blanket or a throw. Not many people will be disappointed.

The items fit the theme well. At first I was disappointed that the blanket was gray.

Honey Grand Cup
Honey Grand Cup

Honey Grand Cup by Sir/Madam: I love oversized cups. Oversized cups are perfect for drinks and soups.  It’s 4.75″ in diameter and is microwave and dishwasher safe. I have no other information on it because my cup is making its way to the Windy City to be with its cup-mate.

Paseo Embossed Black Notebook
Paseo Embossed Black Notebook

Paseo Embossed Black Notebook by Christian Lacroix: I love notebooks. This is a beautiful embossed notebook measures 4″ x6″ making it a perfect size to stick in a purse or tote. It has a ribbon marker and a chevron patterned elastic closure.

Ivory Pages

It has beautiful ivory pages.

The cover is made out of faux leather. The 152-page notebook lays flat when open. I’m pleased with the notebook.

The Throw
The Throw

The Windsor Ocean Platinum Fringe Fleece Throw is the item that is causing people to notice Burke Decor this month.

The edging
The edging

Maybe it wasn’t the best idea to fold the blanket over itself to show the edging. The sides are edged. Please let me know what the correct term is for the edging.

Fringes
Fringes

The top and bottom of the throw has fringes.

I’m not the best throw stylist.

Burke Decor made a note on the information sheet to allow for shrinkage when washed due to the nature of the yarns.

Zelda on a twin bed .

She decided to lay down on the soft, cozy blanket.

50" x 70"
50″ x 70″

The 50″x 70″ throw is large. It completely covers a twin bed although you may not be able to tuck it in at the bottom.

The mid-weight blanket is flushed against the wall to illustrate the width of the blanket. I liked the blanket more and more as I was taking pictures. It is soft!

Verdict: I am happy with my Burke Decor box. I love throws and notebooks. The cafe-sized cup is a great inclusion to the box. It’s a great fall box. My only suggestion to Burke Decor is to proofread the information card.

The cup is the best!!!!!! I love plain grey so much. I am the most boring decorator. My mind is soooo busy and running that I yearn for very plain sort of stuff. Just throw some cat hair on it I say!

Together we cover it all. I love color. I need to hide the blanket from the kids because it is large and soft.

I would hide it in the car. Then one a cold day I would go in with my book and snacks and wrap myself up. The car would be like a little cave!

I think your cold day and my cold day are vastly different 🙂 Your cold day sounds cozy.

LOL yes!!!! San Diego cold is not cold to most people. It has made me so weak. San diego makes you soft and fast! I had a real giggle at this because I forget!

I need to re-read the information card. You are really good with reading the informational stuff. I used to be awesome like that and read everything including what was written on packaging, any inserts, and the actual product. But even I was not to be able to read all the print on a dr. bronner’s bottle during my reading packaging days. He was a real character there was a Netflix documentary on him. Randomness brought by truly yours, Pnut

I have the documentary marked to be watched. I’m not sure if I have a Dr. Bronner item in my house. I’ll give a hint on the information card. I found 3 glaring mistakes. Two mistakes are related to the product names. One mistake is in the description.
