“We can complain rose bushes have thorns, or rejoice because thorn bushes have roses.” – Abraham Lincoln

I’m choosing to rejoice despite the osteoarthritis and other problems! I attended my first Tai Chi class on Monday. I felt great afterwards and achy on Tuesday. I never thought I would reach a point in my life where I would feel achy after a Tai Chi class.

I received my first Fitbook in Bianca Jade’s MizzFit Quarterly #MIZ06. I enjoyed using the Fitbook and bought another one at Target. I started using it this week.

I also plan to reach at least 8000 steps a day this week.

    Love your post.
Do you use Epsom salts your aches? My favorite, although not glamorous, is the Burts Bees Therapeutic Bath Crystals.
I want to work more with posting this week I already have some templates. I like that I am actually doing something other than being a mom. Posting allows me some me time and I actually am enjoying my sub boxes more since I have to report on them if that makes sense. My BeautyDNA is coming soon and I am excited to find out what it is plus posting about it.

I use epsom salts when I am at the farm. The farmhouse has a soaking bathtub! I need to do the same here. It does helps!!!

Great idea about the templates! I can’t wait to see what is in your BeautyDNA box.

Me too hope I should be getting it soon!

Thank you for joining me! It’s taking me forever to hit 8000 today. I might put the pedometer through the wash 🙂

I need to get more healthy as well. I should cut down on the booze. Sigh. I have a fitbit and it shows just how little I am actually doing lol

Once I by accident put it through the washer/dryer and I got an extra 3,000 “steps”.

I started watching my nephews this week. I will be watching them a few days a week from now on and I took them for a long stroller walk today. I plan on doing this every time I watch them, weather permitting. It’s not huge but a small step in trying to exercise more! 🙂

I do this with my kids. Toddler in the stroller, baby in the ergobaby. My backside needs to reverse the cruel effects of gravity!

Sub Bella, how wonderful that you have started making some positive changes for your health. I would imagine any new routine would leave you sore in the beginning, even Tai Chi and probably even for someone that works out regularly, because it uses your body in a different way. Keep up the good work!

I’ve done nothing to work on my goals since you last posted. I have to sit down and think about how to be more efficient and not let the days pass me by.

      • September 24, 2015 at 1:54 pm

Artemis – Thank you. I miss my baby wearing days. Enjoy them!

      • September 24, 2015 at 2:46 pm

Love the Ergo! I like that it is from Maui goes with my love of Hawaii.

    • September 24, 2015 at 1:50 pm

Rachel – Enjoy your walks with your nephews. Every small step is still a step forward.

      • September 24, 2015 at 2:49 pm

May the majority of your walks with the little humans be walks and not sprints protecting them from themselves 😉

I’m changing jobs, I need a more professional environment where managers actually communicate to staff. Fingers crossed, pixie dust welcome. I’m very proud of you and support you dear Subbella. I go to zumba three times a week, it keeps me sane with a shimmy. ((hugs))

    • September 24, 2015 at 1:56 pm

Kelly – Sending pixie dust your way! I used to do Zumba on the Wii U with my little guy. I should get back to doing that. Zumba is fun!

      • September 24, 2015 at 2:51 pm

We have a Wii that is collecting dust. I should unearth it I loved doing yoga and my eldest wee one may be old enough for it too. Thanks for bringing it up Sub Bella!

Thanks to Sub Bella’s first post on this, I am 12 days in a row with 10k steps! (Love my fitbit – and Lil Conure and Subscriptionista cracked me up with those stories!) I also plan to try the workout video that I’ll be getting in my first FabFitFun box that just shipped. 🙂

Y’all are motivating me to take more active steps toward positive change, but I have so many things I want to improve I don’t even know where to start. I don’t think it’s possible to exaggerate how overwhelming that is. So I’ve been making a list of “small bites” – things I can do in 15-20 minutes that will show real (albeit small) results and hopefully spur me on to more action. It’s not much, but I’ve found that even if I’m exhausted I can usually rally myself for 15 minutes worth of effort, and having them all written down (in my Box of Style “Shut it Down” notebook, naturally), means I can just point to one at random rather than taking time and energy trying to decide what to do. We’ll see how it goes. It’s a really long list!

    • September 24, 2015 at 2:01 pm

Sarah – That’s a great idea on breaking it down to 15-20 minute increments. It’s easy to become overwhelmed. I love that you are writing it down in your Box of Style “Shut it Down” Notebook!

I’m still all kinds of hurt 🙁 I went to Tai Chi yesterday. This guy made a comment about being in a class with obese women. He made the comment to the instructor while standing next to me. Later he cut me off when I asked a question. He acted as though I am insignificant because of my weight.

I don’t wear a sign saying I had a bad couple of health years. My body has been through a lot – a difficult miscarriage, emergency surgery that wasn’t related to the miscarriage, a bad case of tendinitis and more. My health issues is what led me to reading and commenting on subscription boxes in 2014.

All that guy saw was an obese woman wearing size 14 shorts and a size large top. Yes, they do fit much better than my Modcloth dresses 🙂

This is why I try to meet people where they are at in life.

    It still bothers me!!!

Dude is a total looser. Classic case of a guy who has been brainwashed by media portrayals of women who don’t exist (or for the vey few who do they wouldn’t be dating THAT guy). You are gorgeous and are making positive steps to improve your health. That turd is just something that got on your shoe. It’ll wash off!

If says something again tell him all the Victoria Secret models took the class with all the dudes with hair!

Better yet just pity him. After all your on your way to a better life he is… Well let’s just say he is not…

      • September 29, 2015 at 12:40 pm

        ITA with Subista.
It would bother me to. Did other people hear him? Hopefully he will not be there at the next class. I commend you on your actions because I would probably give him the stink eye and then say “EXCUSE ME I am asking a question RUUUDDDDE”. At least I think I would. I am trying to be a better person and take the high road because I want my wee ones to be like that. Again I commend in taking the high road, he does not know you, he probably has a lot of hurt that he feels like he needs to put someone down and he probably does not have many friends with that attitude.
