Happy Labor Day! Any big plans? I plan to see Pixels with my older son and later head over to the local orchard to try out different hard cider flavors. I plan to have Saturday Empties, Kitchen HG, Sunshine Crate Accessories Review, and maybe a couple quick reviews up. I miscalculated the party preparation time versus blogging time.

I hope you’re having a great Labor Day! I took my big guy over some fences (giant Thoroughbred, took him up to 4’6″) and little fatty around some barrels (little Arab). I’m still trying to figure out where little fatty’s talents are, probably low level gymkhana but maybe some kids hunt seat. Got new dirt in the outdoor arena. Now sitting down to BBQ some veggies and have a stiff drink (or two or more).
I will think of you as I sip this beer, and maybe the next. I had beet juice today… it was … well, healthy I think?

We went to a sample tasting except they called the shots growlers. Or maybe that was the full-size? I’m not much of a drinker and am lost on all the new terminology. It was crisp and sweet. Almost like a fruity wine, but not quite. We tried Rubarb, Ginger (reminded me of the holidays), blueberry and an off-dry which had a completely different taste. Not all are sweet, They had bone-dry and off-dry ciders too. I have no idea what that means except they are less sweet.

Growlers are usually when you bring in your own container (or use their’s) and get it filled. When my twin was having her baby I decided it would be a good idea to get a growler and bring it in the hospital to sorta sip all calmly. I ended up spilling it all over my trunk.
I would end up doing the same thing. I’m good at spilling things on my bosom. That explains why I was not understanding about growlers. I think they gave us the hard cider with training wheels still on it. It was obvious that we were not part of the hipster hard cider movement.
No no, not for hipsters!!! Hard Cider was my jam back in college. Sort of the gateway beer! So good! Anyway people who think they know all this and that about beers, wines, and ciders often decide they only certain things and they miss out on a ton.

Ok I am sure it was not funny at the time but I think it’s funny now.
It is TOTALLY funny because I had it in a tote with other stuff and I went up to the hospital room all anxious and out of my mine… after a bit of time had passed we could all smell beer. It had finally soaked enough for me to smell. Like before the tote must have funneled the spill out of the bag because the trunk was wet. But then it finally got soaked itself.
Long story short? There was still enough in there for me to get a beer out of so I wasn’t mad.
Hard cider in a 50/50 mix with cinnamon whiskey is amazing!

Why is it that the Target beauty box is going on sale at a time when I can’t order it. I hope quantities last until later in the day. Maybe I can excuse myself to the bathroom and order off my phone LOL. It’s easier when I am at my home office. Then both boys have something going on around noontime that requires a parent.
