Bianca Jade MizzFit Quarterly Subscription Box Review – #MIZ09

Disclosure: There are no affiliate/referral links in this post. This box was paid for by me.

First, I want to welcome new readers to the blog. We are a fun quirky blog! Keep that in mind when reading our reviews.

My first Bianca Jade box was  #MIZ04 that shipped in August 2014. She released a few spoilers including the Fusion Fitness DVDs that persuaded me to sign up. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I loved the box.

Subscription: Bianca Jade MizzFit Quarterly Box

Cost: $50.00

What to Expect: Bianca Jade releases spoilers that tend to find their way to the blogs and forum. My interpretation of her box is a fitness lifestyle box. You’ll look and feel good while working out. Her Quarterly page describes it best.

Notes: It’s my personal opinion that Quarterly was hit hard by returns in the 4th quarter of 2014 leading to a new direction for the company in 2015. I noticed that the box values have decreased as a whole in 2015. I also heard rumblings that there may be more changes to what curators can do with their boxes in 2016. Regardless of the inner workings of Quarterly, Bianca Jade has curated four boxes for Quarterly this year. I believe it is her passion that enables this to happen.

Rise + Shine for Fitness #MIZ09

Here are the items! There is always an array of items in the Bianca Jade Mizzfit Quarterly Boxes. The theme is “Rise & Shine for Fitness” with a focus on nutrition.

Modern Oats
Modern Oats

Modern Oats: Bianca Jade starts her day with Modern Oats Oatmeal and a cup of tea. There’s no excuse to skip breakfast when rushing off to a morning workout because it takes only three minutes to prepared. I received Goji Blueberry and Mango Blackberry. There are quite a few certifications on the packages including certified gluten-free and non-gmo verified.

The package is not microwavable. You shake the package, add hot water, steep for a few minutes, and then enjoy breakfast.

No more excuses for missing breakfast!

Sahara Tea Skinny Genie Green Tea
Sahara Tea Skinny Genie Green Tea

Sahara Tea Skinny Genie Green Tea: There are two tea bags included to go with the oatmeal breakfasts. The tea helps flush out toxins and stimulate the mind and metabolism. It is a loose leaf tea from Canada. Bianca Jade prefers tea over coffee because it is easier on the tummy when exercising in the morning. I initial thought we were going to receive a box because it was a spoiler. It still works well receiving two to use with the oatmeal.

I need to become more serious about my tea drinking!

Garfield is checking out the Bella Blender

Garfield ran over to check out the items. He is taking over Little Lamb and Zelda’s job duties while they vacay at the farm.

He’s stepping up to the challenge.

Bella Housewares Sport Rocket Blender
Bella Housewares Sport Rocket Blender

Bella Housewares Sport Rocket Blender in Red: I’m impressed that Bianca Jade included a blender in the box! This blender is my first subscription box blender!!! She even had subscribers help select a color via Instagram.

Bella Housewares Rocker Blender

The personal-size blender is perfect for raw fruits, vegetables, and liquids. It’s not a heavy duty blender that can handle ice.

20 oz tumbler with travel lid
20 oz tumbler with travel lid

I’m surprised more of my pictures are not lopsided. I am taking the pictures on an incline. It’s hilly where I live.  Once you are done blending,  attach the lid and go about your day. Bianca Jade uses her blender to make smoothies or power shakes on less busy days.

T claimed it for his shakes although I insisted that it must be for me because it is named after me.

Rise App
Rise App

Rise App: A 2-week trial period to Rise App is included with the box. It’s an app that provides you with a nutritionist to work with you. Save your code if you have a smartphone for when the app goes live for smartphones. Bianca Jade logs in her first meal in the morning.

I always feel like I am two steps behind when it comes to technology.

Rescue Serum and Tan Towel
Rescue Serum and Tan Towel

I did not know what direction my review would take when I took the pictures. I decided to follow along her Quarterly letter because the box is about her morning routine. Bianca Jade uses the Rescue Serum and Moisturizer on her skin. It’s packaged as single-use packets so it can be used anywhere. She uses the tan towel after showering at the gym.

Who wants to look good naked? Me!

Violet Love Headband
Violet Love Headband

Violet Love Signature Couture Headband: My husband thought I was wearing a girly camo headband. That is not the look I am going for when wearing a headband. It also slid off when I bent over. The concept is great and probably works well for almost everyone.

I love the company’s name!

Virasun Polarized Sungleasses
Virasun Polarized Sunglasses

Virasun Polarized Sunglasses: The sunglasses are designed to be light-weight, sweat-proof and secure enough to wear for outside yoga.

I tried to smooth my hair earlier that day. Maybe that is why the headband slipped off? They are comfortable.

Bamboo arms

The lenses offer UV400 protection. My sister is going to love the sunglasses!

Now I know what sunglasses I need if I ever do outdoor yoga!

Discount Code
Discount Code

Haute Athletics:  Bianca Jade sent a coupon for 30% off so we can look good at the gym. I know the women where I live are fashion conscious at the gym.

Women in my area wear their athletic wear everywhere during the day.

bjmz14

Fresh & Co Goji Berry Protein Bar: My husband kept asking me if it was a brownie. Have you ever seen a brownie that looks like this? Bianca Jade eats this after her fitness class. The protein bar scares me. My sister is going to give it a try.

It’s not a brownie no matter how many times you ask.

Hour Glass Angel

Hourglass Angel Amia Waist Trainer: The waist trainer is the golden ticket prize. I find it sad that it is advertised as a way to help you look your best at the gym. Women have enough pressure to look amazing without having to wear waist trainers during workouts.  Never the less, it is what it is. Bianca Jade provided us with a 30% discount code to the company. She is in the second week of waist training in the picture. I understand it is popular, and a lot of celebrities use them.

ETA: I did not have a golden ticket. Let us know if you won the waist trainer!

I’m trying to buy into this, but I feel like we moved the women movement back a couple hundred years.

Verdict: Bianca Jade curates great boxes. She seeks feedback from subscribers and releases spoilers. I feel that her boxes reflect her passions. I am curious about what will be in the next box.

You need to add your Carmen Sandiego hat with those glasses = awesomeness
Great review! Bianca gets Ramdomly’s best curator that actually sends boxes every quarter. And to add a blender in a sub box is simply amazeballs!

My son won’t give back his detective hat. He wears it when we are out and gets lots of compliments. The sunglasses are going to my sister. She will love them. Bianca did a great job with the blender! There was a recipe included, but I was already up to 17 or 18 pictures.

The blender is sweet, and let’s just call the waist trainer a girdle. Bianca is a top notch curator. Thank you Bella.

“Women in my area wear their athletic wear everywhere during the day.” Same thing here in Southwest Ohio. I don’t need all the fingers on one hand to count the number of times that I’ve worn workout clothes to the grocery or anywhere other than a walking path or in my home… but that’s my personal preference. Maybe if I were more comfortable with my body, I would do the same? I would never leave my house in pajamas either… but to each their own – it doesn’t hurt me if you wear your PJs to the mall. 🙂

Love the blender!! Don’t love the corset/girdle. 🙁 Would like to try the oatmeal. And a protein bar may not be a brownie, but it is a nom, right Pnut? Love the Carmen San Diego picture – very mysterious! lol

That protein bar definitely looks more nomable than the vegan brownie from Popsugar last year! Anything from Manhattan is typically nomable 😉

      • November 21, 2015 at 7:23 pm

My husband tried the vegan brownie from Popsugar. It was one of the few things he could not finish.

This box is awesome! I did not expect a personal blender (genius!) from a $50 Randomly box.

A waist cincher for the gym? No. Heck no. And I’m the vainest person I know!

My sister likes that oatmeal brand. She also ordered the personalized oatmeal after I sent her the link from Subista’s review! Interesting box, not for me, but my sister is the healthy/gym one in the family, and would luuuurve this box. Though, I definitely agree the girdle is weird.

Don’t they call workout clothes for day clothes athleisure? Hah, I looked it up but got distracted by this very funny and true video!

They can call it a waist trainer all they like, but if it looks like a corset, walks like a corset, and compresses one’s internal organs like a corset, let’s just call it a corset. As if there weren’t enough messed up notions about what women “owe” to the rest of society in terms of their appearance already.
