Curlkit Subscription Box Review – November 2015

Disclosure: There are no referral/affiliate links. This box was paid for by me.

I purchased the October Curl Kit Box at a discount late last month. I was charged again before receiving the box because I ordered the box late in the month. I was dissatisfied with my October box. How will I feel about the November box?

An impressive amount of items.
An impressive amount of items.

My first thought why did I cancel my subscription? The box barely could stay closed with all the items in it. The Creme of Nature Argan Oil line is free of sulfates, parabens, mineral oil, and petrolatum.

We subscribers must drive the sub world crazy with our finickiness.

Creme of Nature Argan Oil Moisturizing Milk Masque Packets

Creme of Nature Argan Oil Moisturizing Milk Masque: Note the curls on the product! Yay! This box is on the right track for me. Apply the masque after shampooing and leave on for 5-10 minutes. Easy-Peasy. It concerns me that it does not smell like argan oil. I think it has a chemical scent. My sniffer could be off because I try to use mainly natural products.

Don’t forget to use a body scrub and/or face mask too. Women are good at multi-tasking.

Lotta Body Wrap Me Foaming Mousse
Lotta Body Wrap Me Foaming Mousse

Lotta Body Coconut & Shea Oils Wrap Me Foaming Mousse: The Lotta Body Foaming Mousse receives great reviews on the net. I did spray the mousse into my hand because I find it hard to believe that a liquid becomes a foam. It does. It creates soft wraps and frizz-free curls.

I don’t know how a blue liquid becomes a white foam. The mousse is a puzzle to me.

Doo Gro Jamaican Black Castor Oil
Doo Gro Jamaican Black Castor Oil

Jamaican Black Castor Oil: The oil is good for all types of hair. It can strengthen and thicken hair. It can be used as a skin moisturizer. The bottle gave directions on how to use it as a hot oil treatment.  I am unfamiliar with Black Castor Oil and can’t figure out why it has BHT as an ingredient. Maybe it is needed to keep the oil stabilized for a longer period of time?

A hot oil treatment sounds wonderful.

Spongelle Pink Tiare
Spongelle Pink Tiare

Spongelle Beyond Cleansing Pink Tiare: I received a larger size Spongelle as a bonus item in my October 2014 Little Lace Box and absolutely loved it. I”m excited to have another one and will be using it when traveling at the beginning of the year. It is infused with Edelweiss, Yuzu, & Vetiver.

I can’t wait to try it!

Pampered Roots
Pampered Roots Coconut & Honey Hydrating Cocoon

Pampered Roots Coconut & Honey Hydrating Cocoon: I love the name! The creme will condition your hair and define your curls. The end result is silky, shiny hair. Sounds great.

I want to go to the spa and be wrapped in a coconut and honey body wrap!

Naat garlic magic Shampoo and Conditioner
Naat Garlic Magic Shampoo and Conditioner

Naat Garlic Magic Shampoo and Conditioner: The garlic shampoo and conditioner helps with thinning hair, provides volume, moisture, and shine. It doesn’t contain a garlic smell.

Any volunteers?

Creme of Nature
Creme of Nature

Creme of Nature Argan Oil Butter-Licious Curls Curl Hydrating Buttercreme: The Buttercreme is a blend of shea butter, cocoa butter, and argan oil along with other ingredients Reviews tend to read that although it is thick, it does not weigh the curls down.

I can hear Pnut saying, “Not a nom!”.

Real
Cream of Nature Cleansing Conditioner

Creme of Nature Pure-Licious Co-Wash: The Co-Wash is the first item that I have seen in the kit that says it is safe for color hair. I see co-wash and read strips color from hair. I have not had much luck with cleansing shampoos. The Creme of Nature Co-Wash will retain 90% color after 10 washes. I find that to be perfectly acceptable.

Got to keep that color looking good!

Creme of Nature
Creme of Nature Argan Buttermilk Leave-In Hair Milk

Creme of Nature Argan Buttermilk Leave-In Hair Milk: The hair milk is to be used after the co-wash. It adds a lot of moisture to hair and makes it shiny.

I love the product names!

Creme of Nature
Creme of Nature Argan Oil Pudding Perfecting Curl Enhancing Creme

Creme of Nature Pudding Perfecting Curl Enhancing Creme: This creme is designed to stretch curls. That sounds scary to me because stretched hair equals breakage. Best to use the creme!

The perfect creme to add a little length to your hair.

Curlkit Booklet
Curlkit Booklet

I love the booklet. It has information on the items in the box and information about taking care of your hair. Plus how can you not love something that says “claim your sexy.”

Extras

I did not utilize the reward program because I am not continuing my subscription.

Verdict: I am impressed with the amount of items in the box. There’s a great variety of products for curls, coils, edges, wraps and more. The box arrived in a padded envelope and was bursting at the seams.

I am going to give the box to my sister. There are ingredients that I don’t recognize and am unsure if I want to use them or if it will strip color from my hair. She has virgin hair and isn’t too fussy about her hair products.
