MyIrelandBox Subscription Review – November 2015

Disclosure: This box was paid for by me. There are no affiliate links in this post

I’ve been reading reviews on MyIrelandBox for over a year. I decided to purchase a 3-month subscription to enjoy over the holiday season

Subscription: MyIrelandBox

Cost: $45.00 plus $10.50 shipping for a single box or monthly subscription. I ordered the three month subscription – $125.10 plus $31.50 for shipping. I know we hate paying for shipping. It is shipping directly from Ireland. The shipping cost is similar to what most of the geeky/gaming boxes are charging.

What to Expect:  A monthly subscription box could contain accessories, stationary, home good, and/or jewelry. It may be one large item or 2-4 small items in the box.

Note: The December Christmas MyIrelandBox is on sale now. The link will take you to a one time purchase. You can also start your subscription with the December box. I saw on the home page that it is also labeled as the Festive December box.  The box ships from Ireland. The Sheep Box is back in stock!!!

First glance shows a wonderful assortment of items. I’m excited about my first box. I love home items.

“The Irish Larder” Gauntlet by Simone Walsh: The 100% cotton oven mitt is based on Simone Walsh’s childhood memories that she recreated in  The Irish Larder Painting. She offers different items featuring the print. Her cat prints are festive. I like the print, and the fit is great. Sometimes oven mitts are a little large on me.

I wonder if MYIRELANDBOX will do a cat box?

Village Water Pump Tea Towel by Sealed with Irish Love - County Clare

Village Water Pump Tea Towel by Máire McKeogh of Sealed with Irish Love: The village water pumps can still be seen throughout the Dingle Peninsula, which is located on Ireland’s southwest Atlantic coast. Google Images show beautiful pictures of the coastline.

My husband and I love the print. We have a water pump on our farm that we still use! I will take a picture of it the next time we are at our country property. I tried to take a picture of the tea towel unfolded. It is larger than J’s picnic table! The wind kept blowing around, hence no photo.

I love the logo! The about us tab provides the background on Máire McKeogh. She has gorgeous red hair in the photo.

Village Water Pump Card: I am going to write a love note to my husband using this card.

The Village Water Pump was included the box because it represented an important old tradition in Ireland. I can relate to that because our water pump is incredibly useful to us. It is located by one of our barns.

I’m in love with the print and logo.

Handmade sign by Avokado & Co County Clare
Handmade sign by Avokado & Co County Clare

Is Maith Liom Cáca Milis Gaelic Sign by Avokado & Co: Anyone read Gaelic? It is pronounced ‘Iss Moh Lum – Caw-Kah-Milish”, and means I love sweet cake. MyIrelandBox wrote a letter describing the items and why they are selected. They thoughtfully included the pronunciation and meaning for us. I enjoyed reading the letter and how they described that they spotted the quirky sign in a shop window. It is something I would do!

On my wall

I want to hang the sign in the kitchen after we repaint it. I am going to leave it on the wall next to the sparrows from the September Loved + Blessed Box. It was interesting to read the different Irish Saying Signs. The link shows the first two rows are Christmas signs, and the rest are Irish Sayings. I like that the owners write they are Fun and Creative.

The sign is whimsical and quirky just like our blog!

Book advertisment

Chef Interrupted: Discovering Life’s Second Course in Ireland with Multiple Sclerosis by Trevis L. Gleason: An advertisement for the book is included in the box along with a recipe for John Foster’s Irish Wheaten Bread. I am going to attempt to make it!

Subscriber Bonus:

I received a treat for being a new subscriber.  Currently, the treat is available to all new subscribers regardless of the subscription plan. It is not available for one-time box purchases. This could be subject to change.

Body Lotion
You Organic! Orange & Bergamot Body Lotion

You Organic! Orange & Bergamot Body Lotion: I love the design! The lotion has a light pleasant citrus scent. The design makes it easy to use every last drop.

It has great ingredients! I will be using this.

I saw it was labeled on the back, “Do Not Eat.” My family thought it was food.

We’ll pull through on the blog as a team. I am playing with the about. I don’t know how to make a text box and the about is a bit boring.
