Date in a Crate Subscription Box Review + Coupon – November 2015

I began my subscription to Date in a Crate with the October’s box. It’s a fun box, but not one that my husband will partake. J offered to assist me. I will put it up once we complete the activities on a family level.

Lots of possibilities here. Let’s take a closer look.

November Theme
November Theme

It’s a fun twist on movie night! Movie night is one of the easiest dates to do at home. What fun does Date in a Crate have for us?

My husband wanted to know how can you watch a movie blindfolded. Patience, my dear. All will be revealed.

Date in a Crate Crate Challenges
Date in a Crate Crate Challenges

Date in a Crate Crate Challenges: There are four challenges to assist you in having a fun date night. Are you ready? I am not going to show you all the challenges because the box is still available as a one time purchase.

Charade
Date Night Charades

Date Night Charades: I am not good at charades! There are six cards. I showed three to give you an idea.

How would you reenact your first date?

Candy
Candy

Candy: Movie night is the theme. How can you have movie night without the candy? Popcorn is included! The variety is great for my family.

My boys have a built-in food radar.

Crate Challenge 2
Crate Challenge 2

Crate Challenge 2: Why the blindfold when you need your sight to watch a movie? This is a fun challenge. J couldn’t wait to see the items in the second box because we are going to do the first box together. J can’t wait to do this challenge with me.

I have yet to try this with my husband. I am curious if he can get me across the room safely. I agree it is based on communication. I live in a place that has bridges and a tunnel. He frustrates me with his directions!

Will Sub Bella survive this challenge?

An Extra

Canvas Pop Coupon: A nice extra in the box.

Bramble
Bramble

Poor Kitty! Bramble does not like the camera.

Verdict: This is a great twist on movie night. I did not reveal all the challenges. I like how one challenge leada to another. It is also easy to postpone a challenge for a different night. It’s also a great gift that you can give without worrying that it pushes someone beyond their comfort level. It’s also easy to convert into a family night by making  a few simple changes. Both the October and November boxes were family-safe. No worries if your child needs you during date night making it an easy, fun way to have a night home especially if you have little ones.

While I don’t think the box is for me – I don’t think I could ever get my husband to participate – I think it’s a great idea and execution is pretty good. Not sure it’d be worth full price but definitely worth the Groupon deal you got. Thank you for the reviewing the box!

I love yr kitty pics. How many kitties do u have ? Sometimes i see u post comments saying yr kitties are visiting from a farm ? Do they not live with u ? I always wondered about this when reading yr blog. There is nothing better in my opinion than cats and subscription boxes!

Sarah, thank you for commenting! We have our main residence in the city and a country property. Our country property is a certified organic farm. We have people that live there including my sister. She’s in charge of the Sub Bella kitty clan. There’s a group of about six kitties that rotate back and forth between the farm and the main residence. We usually have 3-5 at the main residence. Right now we are at five. That’s the maximum for us at the main house. The rest have no interest in the city life.

The kitties are part of our certified organic plan. They control the rodent population that can get into the feed and make a mess of things in our barns. They are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and fed quality kitty food and kitty treats. They have kitty toys too.

Garfield and Puss in Boots are mainstays at the main residence. Bramble is a real sweet kitty that loves to be next to you outside int he warm months and inside in the cooler months. He tends to play homestead kitty with my sister at the farm until it is time to put the farm to bed for the winter. Then my sister sends him here because he always under her foot int he winter time. He loves to cuddle and play. He hates the camera. It’s a shame because he likes to check out what is in the sub boxes as long as the camera is not around.
