I decided to order the Special Edition December Luxor Box because I was curious about the hype over the clutches. I have been following the Luxor reviews and loved the majority of the items featured in their boxes. It was time to take an expensive plunge into the luxury subscription box world.
Subscription: Luxor Box Special Edition December Box – one time purchase. Sold out.
Price: $175.00 – my most expensive box ever
What to Expect: Size L 1951 Maison Francaise Clutch and five other luxurious products. Select your purse from five pre-selected colors/purse upon placing your order.
Notes; Luxor offers a bimonthly subscription. Luxor Box is $125.00. Luxor Box Petite is $39.95. January’s box is sold out.
The sun is peaking out! I ran outside with my items to take pictures. They are not the best pictures due to the weak December sun rays. I wanted to create an unboxing experience for you. I hope you enjoy it.
Look at all the dust covers! Everything came well protected.
Hello Correspondence Cards: :The box of 8 Correspondence Cards comes in a protective box.
The design makes it easy to remove the cards and envelopes without bending them.
It’s hard to see it in this picture. The flat card is a white card mounting on paper stock. The Hello and the back of the card match the envelope design.
The card provides a bit of texture. It adds a little interest when holding the card.
The inside design matches the color of the back of the card. The inner flap has the design. The outside envelope is white.
An elegant way to say hello
Tatcha Polished Rice Enzyme Polish: I love Tatcha Products. The Rice Enzyme Polish is gentle to the skin. The Gentle version was sent to subscribers. It is well suited for dry skin.
Perfect for the winter weather.
Graphic Image 2016 Notebook: My picture does not do it justice. It is a beautiful rich metallic color. The color reminds me of the warm golden browns of fall leaves. It has acid free paper with gilt edges.
The white cream pages are sturdy. It comes with a ribbon to keep your page place. It is a beautiful, elegant Notebook.
An elegant way to stay on track throughout the year.
Hope & Love Catchall by Jesse & Co: I waited for the sun to come back and visit only to have the majority of my catchall photos not turn out well. It is a beautiful piece made in the USA.
I love the saying “Hope & Love”. It is made by hand with Italian leather and accented with 14K gold closures.
I took a picture of the two catchalls together. The catchall on the right is the Jesse Co Catchall. The catchall on the left is from the Birch Box LE Vanity Affair. It is the Stephanie Johnson Tinseltown Jewelry Tray.
I could feel and see a difference between the two catchalls as there should be a difference. The Hope & Love Catchall stood out although I still like my Stephanie Johnson Tray!
The catchall measure 4.5″ x 4.5″ and has a depth of 1″.
Will it catchall me some money?
Claire Fantasy Flower Skinny Cuff: We are going to make believe the winter blueberry bush is a beautiful flowering bush. I love this bracelet.
I’m absolutely in love with the bracelet. It’s a beautiful adjustable bracelet. The cuff is handcrafted in India.
The cuff features an adjustable fastener. Pull on the two strings to loosen the cuff. Pull on the cords to tighten.
It’s easier to adjust than window blinds.
1951 Maison Francaise Size L – Choco: The clutch is slightly different than then one that is linked. It is hand made in France. The clutch comes with a chain.
The chain is long enough to allow the clutch to be worn as a cross-body. I am probably the only one that hung a 1951 Maison Francaise Clutch from a blueberry bush.
I am not sure how I feel about the white zipper detailing. The zipper is polyester and brass.
A closer look of the hook and loop for the chain. It’s not the best picture. I had to open the clasp wide and push the hook all the way through and twist. That was the only way I could hook it.
The clutch liner is 100% cotton. I thought it gave the clutch a festive look. I don’t understand the craziness over the 1951 Maison Francaise Clutches. It is a well-made timeless piece.
I can’t decide to keep or gift!
Verdict: I love the Special Edition December Luxor Box. Most items will be used as gifts. The bracelet I am keeping for me! I’m very happy and pleased with the box.

Wonderful photos! You definitely created an experience for me in reading this review.
All of these items look sooooo nice – definitely luxe. I’m a little disappointed that I missed out on it but I’ve never spent more than $40-$50 on a box so… That price was a little too risky for me.
It was a huge risk! I was nervous about buying it!! I could easily keep everything for myself. I did promise my husband that we would use the majority for gifts.
I love the bracelet, and the clutch is lovely but I also don’t understand the clamor over them. I like my blue Sorial clutch from Popsugar–it’s the perfect size and has a pocket. The box does feel quite lux though =)
Bahaha, my boyfriend asked what I was looking at and shouted, “$175 for some envelopes!?” I pointed out there was a purse too, and now we decided to go back to Canada because looking up the Euro led to the Canadian dollar and it’s slowly sinking.
I use my blue Sorial clutch too. Canada? Are you ready for cold winters again?
That looks like a great box. It was a bit too steep for me to purchase but I would have been really happy with it. That planner is calling my name!
I love the planner. I am gifting it. I tried to take pictures of the pages, but they did not turn out well.
Wow, what a beautiful box! I have been lusting after the planner since you showed the sneak peek!
I need one box to send me a beautiful planner that I can keep!
I love the pics! I think they are really stepping up the lux box game. I like that you got to pick your own bag!
It was hard to select a bag. I have a niece in her 20s that love purses. I wanted to pick a color that was functional. They had a few that were gorgeous!
It was an expensive box but really nice! Oh I never asked if you use the face blotting papers from Tatcha? I’m supposed to get it in Boxycharm and my skin is dry as a bone.
I like the clutch and didn’t notice the white zipper until you mentioned it and now it is all I can see! It is kinda cool and edgy in a way!
The bracelet is so you! It looks like it might match the popsugar headband you’ll get in the November box.
I do use the blotting papers. I love them. I also use them after working on the farm. They do a great job blotting sweat.
I can’t wait for the November box to arrive!!!
Alright, I will get them to you once I get my box. I wish my skin was less dry!
Lovely photos! I especially love the Tatcha pic! I didn’t notice the white zipper either, lol.
Sooo, I don’t know where to post this, but I read that Bag and Wander is ending their sub boxes and having a clearout sale. 40% off + free shipping on everything in their shop with the coupon code: BAG40OFF. My apologies that this is irrelevant to your review, but I wanted to share. 🙂
When I post comments and I select “Notify me of new comments via email”, it doesn’t. I’m not sure if that is a question or just a random fact (or both?)…
LC that happened to me too. I accidentally chose to opt out of ALL WordPress emails instead of just one thread and I don’t know how to turn emails for it back on. If you found a solution let me know!
Thanks LC! I just ordered the November “Mix & Mingle” Bag & Wonder box for $18 with free shipping! Some other things I wanted are already sold out.
LC – What did you order?
I posted it a few days ago on Subless Sunday before I knew they were going out of of business. I should have made a separate post for it! I did receive my order yesterday and will post it along with the code again.
Go and order! http://www.bagandwander.com/shop/all/1 My box shipped 2-day priority.
I’ll let Subscriptionista know about the comment issue. Thank you for letting us know!
I was going to order the Bon Voyage box, but I haven’t finished my Christmas shopping yet so I decided to pass even though it was a really good deal. I’ve already bought myself (and my mom) quite a few gifts with some of the great holiday sales. 😀
Good!
I loved this box and your wonderful pictures and review. I got the silver clutch, so really did not notice zipper. I’m swapping a few things, but this was still a winner, like you!
You need to send me a picture!!! Kelly, you are always so kind in your comments. It was nice to take photos outside for a change.
I love this review! My favorites are he notecards (say hello) and catch all (says hope and love). I might like products that say things to me in the morning…
