PopSugar Must Have Subscription Box Review – November 2015

Disclosure: I received this box as a gift. There are no affiliate links in this post.

The saga continues for Princess Sub Bella. She opened her treasure chest of glittery November Must Haves in front of the Court Jester. “What is this?” the court jester asked the princess. “Is it food?” he inquired. Subscriptionista, the Bodacious Blond Bombshell aka Queen of the Cats, rescued our fair maiden from the court jester. She banished him to the place of no return known as DHL. But alas, not even the Queen of Cats could persuade PopSugar that Sub Bella is worthy of a referral link. The Popsugar Wizards have determined that not even a reset password will be acknowledged by them. The bodacious bombshell, ahem, Queen of the Cats dried Princess Sub Bella’s tears and reminded her that she had a glittery treasure to behold. Then the Queen of Cats kicked the Benefit Chick out and took her place to become crowned as Queen of the Birchboxes.

Capri Blue Mercury Jewel Box in Rain: The scent is a gardenia scent. It’s a light scent when lit. I barely notice it. I took the last picture today while finishing up the post. My camera battery died! I wanted to show how pretty the frame and the candle looked together. I wanted to add a little more light to the picture.  The candle has won me over in its beauty.

Am I the only one that did not realize the light would shine through the design?

Rain

Speaking of rain, this is what the weather has been like for over a week. Sometimes it rains or snows. No snow for Christmas due to the El Nino. Happy first day of winter!

Verdict: Thank you Subscriptionista for purchasing this box for me! It’s a wonderful box that I am enjoying. I love the candle, bingo cards, and candle. My husband will use the mustard. The Tarte eye shadow will make a beautiful gift.I need to explore the Inkdot Gift Card that Popsugar included. I love the November box.

If you write up a storybook, I would buy it 🙂

Thank you 🙂 I used to write stories about Garfield. T loved reading about his cat’s kitty adventures. He was a superspy cat.

I got confused on referral links and lost passwords and I have no clue what a benefit chick is…

Melissa, I am glad you asked! Everyone that has a PopSugar account has a referral link. The link allows you to earn a free box if enough people buy off of it. My password for my PopSugar account did not work. I reset the password. The new one would not work. I wasn’t able to access my referral link.

The Benefit Chick is the girl from the Primer Benefit package in Subscroptionista’s Birchbox post. http://subscriptionista.com/2015/12/birchbox-subscription-unboxing-decemeber-2015/ The bloggers and readers will be voting monthly on the best Birchbox because all the Subscriptionista bloggers receive Birchboxes. I joked that the girl on the Benefit packaging was the best part of Subscriptionista’s box. More comments ensue as a result.

      I hope it makes sense!

Yes, that makes a lot more sense now. Thank you for explaining.

Yes, that candle with the lights off is so gorgeous! I hope you feel glamorous with your scalloped headband. I’ve been wanting to try to make handstitched beaded bracelets, but I feel like I need to calm down on trying so many new crafts and improve the skills I’ve already embarked on [ie spent lots of money on].

So I am looking at this for $20 on Popsugar, and I am confused about the candle/jewelry box. Do you use it for jewelry once the candle is done burning? Does it tell you how to clean out all the wax? I suppose hot water or something…

    • January 10, 2016 at 9:36 am

Hi! I just got my box today from the sale! You can use the candle when empty to put jewelry in it. Or you can put clear marbles and stick your makeup brushes there a la Sephora style.

After the candle is done, I recommend using paper towels if your lucky to clean it while the wax is still warm. If its hard wax that is hard, put it in the freezer for a couple of hours and try to crack the wax apart with a utensil of your choice. If its soft wax hardedned, hand wash it out with some dawn and papertowels.

If you want to reuse your votives for other than storage, put a little bit of water before you add a new candle. When that candle burns out, pop it in the freezer and the wax should pop out easily.
