3b (Beauty Beyond Borders) Subscription Review – January 2016

3b stands for Beauty Beyond Borders and is a beauty subscription that seeks to bring you the best in Asian beauty and perhaps products in general.  I have heard a ton about these types of items and so decided why not give this box a whirl because it was $12 which isn’t too much of a monthly gamble for me. I mean, all I have to do is get a cheaper bottle of wine or two and the budget it all good!

There is a waitlist to sign up. If you decide you are interested I suggest you get on it and they will email you to tell you when a spot opens up. I think I waited over a month. It is not like the fake Ipsy waitlist!

Oddly, I noticed that they say the $12 subscription also includes “Unlimited access to our team to answer any questions you might have.” This to me feels like a challenge of sorts. Wouldn’t it be funny if I started writing this team all sorts of odd questions? I wonder what kind of relationship advice they give!

The bag… arrives in a box!

Organza bags are perfect for gifting or hoarding while telling everyone in the house “you just wait! JUST WAIT. You all will see come Christmas… you will ALL SEEEEEEEEEE.”

For this subscription I 100% need the info card to know what the heck I am getting!

3b 4

3W – Clinic Collagen Whitening Essence: This doesn’t actually whiten you face. That would be strange would it not? It actually brightens and evens your complexion so that you have the bright skin of a newly born calf. It doesn’t say that but it might as well.

I want to sort of glow like an alien, then I will finally be as beautiful as I can be!

3b 3

PetitFee – Dry Essence Foot Pack: This is a mask for your clomp clomps that will make ’em soft. I have like totally gross feet. Sorry everyone. This mask will not likely make my feet any better. Stupid work shoes!

This has “Dry Essence” which is kinda weird for a moisture pack…

3b 5

Missha – Speedy Solution Eye Gel Patch: I dig eye gel patches! They are awesome when cold and they don’t get messy. You just slap these on for like 20 to 30 minutes and wait for the compliments on your eyes to come rolling in!

“Wow your eyes looked so nourished… what are you feeding those things? Sleep? No? Well fancy that, all that from an eye patch!”

3b 10

Botanic Farms – Grain Ferment Cleansing Sherbet: When I think grain ferment I think “Beer.” Ahh beer… wait, what were we talking about again? So this is like an oil you warm up in your hands and use to get rid of make up. I am into oils to cleanse my face because it helps my dry skin and it is a lot less work to get all the make up off!

Can confirm this sherbet is not for eating.

COSRX –  Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence: Now that I have been getting so many subscriptions boxes I did not blink an eye when I saw that they expected me to put Snail Mucin on my face. I have done worse I am sure but I will save those confessions for better times…

How on earth did anyone figure out you could put snails on your face? Serious. I see flowers, but I just don’t see how someone saw a snail and was like “Yeah this is gonna happen.”

3b 11

Verdict: 3b is always worth the $12! I get sent things every month that are new to me and they usually send a lot of product. I am not mad about the foil samples because there are so many. I really think this is probably the best subscription for those who want to dip their toe into Asian beauty but don’t want to get too crazy spending wise.

Disclosure: I bought this myself and no affiliate/referral links can be found in it!

The snails on face stuff came from research on how snails manage to heal themselves so efficiently, and if it was in any way applicable to human tissue healing. Science!

I believe it… Now tell me why the French eat them? 😉

      • January 16, 2016 at 3:40 am

A game of Truth or Dare between the French and English gone horribly wrong in the 1700s. (Juuust kidding)

I BELIEVE this. The garlic and butter was added because the French decided they could use the same dare on the Belgians.
