La Belle Bump Subscription Box Review

Disclosure: I received this box in exchange for my honest review

This is where it all starts…… Those two lines, or plus sign, or the words…positive….

Sigh, gulp, phew, hooray, finally, Thank God, omg, no way, but we used a condom…….

So many things go through the mind of a pregnant women. But at some point, after all of the concerns, worries, fears, and hopes quiet down, all of us get to the stage where you are now faced with the dilemma…

What am I going to wear?!?

Are you pregnant during 2 seasons? Can you fit into most of your stuff until the end and now you don’t want to buy stuff for 3-5 months? Or right off the bat do you need pregnancy clothes and are wondering how your budget can afford a whole new wardrobe?! Do you have an office job that requires professional attire and you’re looking at wearing the same 5 shirts for 9 months?

Or are you like me, and live on Maui where not one store sells maternity clothes? Not.one.store….. Ok I lied. I think Ross, Target and Walmart do. But don’t get me started on what they consider a maternity section. Wait, I will digress, Target if you are reading this then stretchy black pants do not constitute a maternity section!

Well, then here you go….

La Belle Bump

This is a pregnancy rental clothing subscription box!
**I want to let you know that I reached out to La Belle Bump to review their box. I found them on Cratejoy and really wanted to try them but could not find any blog reviews. They were kind enough to work with me and send me this box in exchange for a review!**

Here is their description:

3. Then about a day later I received an email from La Belle Bump giving me a few options to chose from.

4. Three days later I had my box in hand!

5. Then you can wear and launder (According to label instructions) as you would your own clothing

8. Say I had gotten something with leopard print in this box……. Not something I can rock preggo or not. I could easily use the mailer they include to send it back for another item!

I am currently pregnant with my second child. The first thing that happens to me is that my butt expands immediately. Magically overnight I can no longer fit into any of my pants or shorts (this happens around week 9-12). Then my fantastically flat chest expands to rival Pamela Anderson in BayWatch. So both times it has left me scrounging around trying to make anything work because I don’t want to buy maternity clothes!

Why rent maternity clothes?

If you have spent any time at all shopping for maternity clothes then you know how dismal the options can be, OR how expensive quality maternity clothing is!!!
Take The Gap as an example. A nice pair of versatile black pants could run you $59. For one pair. For 9 months. Ok maybe that is what you spend on pants regularly.

But you can’t wear only those pants for 9 whole months 24/7…….

Sigh, it gets expensive fast. So I was pretty excited to find this box. I am entering my third trimester and well folks… it ain’t pretty!

Enough chit chat! Lets look at the clothes!!

5 item box:

Ripe: Grey Pleated Dress with belt (65% Polyester 35% Viscose)
Size medium

Pleats are kind to pregnant ladies!

PicMonkey Collageback top

Ripe: Black Top with Tie (100% polyester)

The tie really helps it look like a baby belly and not a beer belly

PicMonkey Collageblue

Olian Maxi Dress (95% Rayon 5% spandex)
Size Medium

I may never take this dress off. It feels like you are dressed in lotion.

So I had a helper (i.e my husband) taking photos of me. After we shot the clothes, I came back to my camera and found 25-30 of these photos…..

PicMonkey Collageflea

Oy……
And now back to our scheduled programming

PicMonkey Collageblack

Olian Maxi Dress (95% polyester 5% spandex)
Size Medium

This dress has sent me into a time wasting online shopping spiral where I obsess over these dresses and look at several pages of Google results of online sellers. But, um, holy cow these dresses are not cheap!! They retail at $100-200 per dress!

PicMonkey Collagebluedress

Maternal America Blue Dress (95% Rayon 5% Spandex)
Size: Medium

Holy hot mama! This dress makes the girls look awesome!

And now for some styling pics. I have to warn you that I may be the most un-photogenic person in the entire world. These photos below took many many attempts and have been heavily edited. I have included some outtakes so you can laugh as all my friends and family do at my ability to take a simple photo and turn it into something that looks not quite human….

PicMonkey Collagefinal1 PicMonkey Collagefinal2

And here you go….

Feel free to burst out laughing…pee your pants and generally just cheer yourself up over the fact that 99% of any photo I have ever taken look like the ones below…..
It is a running joke with my family and friends and why you pretty much always see me wearing sunglasses…

Survey Says:
La Belle Bump is an a terrific option for pregnant ladies. It offers you the ability to have access to high end maternity clothing without having to buy it. For me, it is a really great treat as I enter my third trimester as you start to feel a less like yourself and more like a human blimp hosting a kung fu master. I highly recommend this box! The creator and CEO Anita Rajendra has amazing customer service and a business background to back up her company as well as being a mom of three herself.

Ok so my husband’s Christmas party is on the 9th (this Saturday).  He likes the black and white Olian and I like the blue Maternal America because, well…its so sassy!

What dress should I wear?

OMG you and your bump are so cute!!! I am having baby fever with my infant 2 feet sleeping next to me. I did not know maternity clothes are lacking in Hawaii. You need to check out Whats Up Moms on youtube they support my ability to wear maternity pants post maternity. I am just too hippy to wear my regular stuff with zippers especially since I want more why buy new pants if I am going to not wear for months? I have to think about my hips. At least my feet are still the same size, although non-succulent.

ITA says the lady wearing her thrift and consignment Olians post-partum. They are so soft like dress muumuus but not frumpy 😉

Can I just say that this blog is full of ladies that I would single white female if I were prone to mental instability? I like all the dresses, but my favoritest is the lotion dress.

My boyfriend has an entire album on his phone that is unflattering pics of me (which is basically 97.5% of all pics taken of me). Occasionally he shows them to people, just to watch my head explode.

    • January 6, 2016 at 12:07 pm

Bahaha, Sarah that’s awesome. Last year at my boyfriend’s work Christmas party I met all of his coworkers for the first time. The next day he got several comments and texts saying, “your girlfriend looks way better in person”. Haha, I photograph horribly, and so does the rest of my family. My eyes are generally closed as well.

See that is why there are no pictures of me. I hate pictures of me. Only acception are couple and family photos … I can tolerate that. But no worries I will eventually put out but for now have most of my Pnut people in about us. I am seriously not a goat ladies!

I would be totally okay with you being a goat. Goats are cool with me.

          • January 7, 2016 at 12:58 pm

LOL I think it was our Subista with her prediction of a war of glossy snd that one of the angry villagers was a goat.
BTW I love this month’s Glossy spoilers 🙂
I will put out eventually. I have no furbaby … hmmm … maybe I will have one of my Pnut people blocking ma face :p

When I smile, it’s like my lips disappear completely, and all you can see is teeth and gums. So I always try to correct for that by smiling unnaturally and end up with weird distorted face. Either that or my boyfriend takes a picture of me while I’m sleeping and my mouth is hanging wide open. I’m going to decree that people may only take my picture when my nose is stuffed in a book.

We have have to have a horrible picture contest with categories….

I have had to come to terms with my unphotogenic self. Anytime I take a pic with someone who is unaware of my disability they always laugh it off as if I am just being a high maintanence girl.
So I take off my sunglasses, they take the photo, look at their camera and then go, huh….. then I go seeeee!!!!!! Let me put my sunglasses on!!!

You look great in all of them! So glad you like the clothes.

I vote for the blue dress. The bow makes it perfect for a Christmas party because it looks like a present!! It looks gorgeous on you. 🙂

This is a great review and whenever my future self has a baby belly, I will definitly be looking into this sub. It just makes so much sense!!

I take horrible photos. Whenever I ask my boyfriend to take pics, I make him take several and he thinks it’s funny to keep repeatedly taking pictures whether I’m ready or not. Then I end up with a bunch of redic photos of me and whoever I’m trying to pose with talking/laughing.

I vote for the blue dress. Show off your bump and your legs at the same time! You look great in the pictures!
