Saturday Empties and Favorites

trash2

What is in the can this week?!?

First, every April on Maui they hold an art exhibition called “The Art of Trash”. It is really fun and all the pieces are really unique and wacky. I try to enter every year for fun. And since this post is about trash I thought I might start including some of my favorite “Trash Art”!

dirtywhitetrashIt is called: Dirty White Trash by Tim Nobel and Sue Webster
Isn’t is awesome?!

Ok now onto my trash (which I may start making into art…..)

I may have cried a little when I used the last of this. I wasn’t aware it was getting so low. I pushed on the pump and it made a sputtering noise and then a got a twinge in my stomach and looked at the bottle. I wasn’t ready to let go….. It retails for $54 so I don’t see myself replacing it anytime soon.
This is the problem with sub boxes!!! You get addicted to expensive face lotion!!

Highly recommend this sunscreen. It is really lightweight and uses titanium and zinc as the sunscreen agents! Plus it smells pretty.

I got this as a sample from BB and this is an example of why I can never quit them even though I feel like it monthly. Every now and then they introduce me to something amazing like this stuff! It is one of the only beauty products I pay retail for.

I wish I could say I used this for cocktails but I mostly used it for soups and meats.

Toddlers and Tequila don’t mix well……

I tried so hard to like this stuff but I can’t. It doesn’t foam. It just blankets your mouth with weirdness. Plus for some reason it literally does not want to stay in its container.

I consider myself a pretty crunchy granola girl but I had to draw the line at this…..

      • January 8, 2016 at 11:40 pm

I’d try to balance a bunch on my cat or bear mate as they slept… I’m an artist after all

Ahhh the sputtering sound of death of a beaty product is always a sad thing.

Liz Earle is a great BB discovery!

Toddlers and booze indeed do not mix but that does not explain why they act like little sober drunks tipping over, slurring speech, can’t get their act together.

    Great post and pictures!

Toddlers and Tequila sounds like a TV show. Drunk housewives trying to keep it together around the kids, then sneaking into the closet for a Margarita.

Also, my brother and I noticed when they first had kids that they really were tiny drunk people. You can’t understand them, they laugh and cry interchangeably, they fall over frequently, wet their pants, want snacks, then fall asleep eating the snacks.

When we went apple picking it was like an orchard in your very own home experience. Slurrings of “apple, Aaaaappppllleee, apple peas”, a bite or two, then sneaking into the apple bag for more.

Yes they are very little drunk people. When you think in that persepective, it makes handling them much easier. My favorite is when they are tired they act wasted and keep falling over.

I would rather watch Toddlers and Ninja Chocolate 101. A class where parents sneak chocolate when the kids are and are not in plain view. An advanced course will be shown for the ultrasonic hearing kids that hear a candy wrapper from 3 rooms away…

        • January 11, 2016 at 12:42 pm

Haha, ninja chocolate indeed! I was going to say, good luck sneaking chocolate with loud wrappers. My sister and I used to run down the hall when we heard any sort of crinkling ahaha! Sonic hearing for sure, but randomly I cannot hear people who are right in front of me. High pitched, loud, annoying, no problem. Whispers and right nearby, heck no.

exactly! we call our son the drunken suicidal midget because he stumbles around, fall overs, tries to launch himself off stuff, and I could go on and on!

I’ll send my empties later this week for next Saturday’s post but my favorite is the Wild Hibiscus in syrup I got from Herbal Bliss just in time for New Year’s Eve – everyone loved them in their champagne glasses!

    • January 9, 2016 at 9:49 am

Sounds like you put on a ritzy showing. Note to self… get invited to Heat’s for booze that comes out of a glass and not a box!

Spinning off your comment, now I want to goto tropical Hawaii to have some soup (saimin/ramen requested) made by Mailbox Junkie because I love soup year-round.

I absolutely recommend making the Panera broth bowls. Those have become a comfort food staple in my house! It’s super easy and you can put in whatever veggies you have! There is an Asian market near my house so I get soba noodles from there but I’ve seen them in organic sections in other stores.

          • January 9, 2016 at 12:10 pm

            Love all noodles. Noms….

        • January 10, 2016 at 10:09 am

I love soup as well!!! Soup for everyone!!!

          • January 10, 2016 at 10:37 am

            NO SOUP FORRR YOU!

          • January 10, 2016 at 8:30 pm

Dammit!!! guess I will just eat mashed potatoes then…not sure how they are alike but it’s what I am gonna do…

          • January 10, 2016 at 9:59 pm

            Seinfeld? Anyone?

Okay, Panera broth bowl recipe. IT’S AMAZING. Spicy, umami, salty, delicious.

I got it! lol I will try the Panera… I need to eat lunch more often. Lately I just have been skipping it to work

          • January 11, 2016 at 7:37 pm

Aww crap I hope they have veggie version for those who dont dig on swine…

          • January 10, 2016 at 11:43 pm

I got the Seinfeld reference. My husband and I almost waited in line but it was too long No Soup For Us!

You lost me on the spicy part but I like the recipe I can switch it about. Adding avocado on top that is awesome. Not as awesome as an egg with the yolk waiting to be popped *egg porn*
That was an Anthony Bourdain reference. He is from Jersey. My Pnut people are well versed in pork product.

          • January 11, 2016 at 7:33 pm

Holy crap… talk dirty to me! woooot!!!!!

          • January 11, 2016 at 8:05 pm

Yep! Last year’s had edamame, but looks like it’s lentil quinoa with uncaged eggs for the veggies. I’m going to Panera for lunch tomorrow. Thai wontons? Oh heck yes.

I order large order from Panera and use my reward card a lot,my twin takes all my rewards. it is pretty hilarious. One day I will have Free Meal! two or three days later it is gone… in her belly

          • January 11, 2016 at 9:16 pm

Umami is a very sexy word!

          • January 11, 2016 at 9:39 pm

            Agreed. So Very much agreed!

    • January 9, 2016 at 3:37 pm

Oooo la la, did it have the flowers in it?!? I have seen those and they look so fancy

      • Heat7918
        January 11, 2016 at 10:23 am

Yes, the flowers were very pretty and sort of alien looking – they looked pretty in the bottom of the glass and the syrup made the champagne turn pink! The flower is edible but I didn’t eat mine… I’ll include a picture of a glass of the champagne with it when I send you my empties later this week.

Yes Subista, our parties are very ritzy… or sometimes white trashy… but either way, they’re fun! You are all officially invited to my New Years Eve bash when 2016 turns into 2017! If you’re anywhere near Cincinnati, I expect you to show up. 😉
