Elizabeth and Clark Review – Winter 2016

Elizabeth and Clark asks the question, “Why are you paying $100 for that designer blouse?” Don’t you worry L & C, I totally am not going to pay $100 for any shirt unless it has a hand embroidered portrait of my cat eating kibble from the hoof of an ancient buffalo. Oddly, designers never return my calls, so I wait for the day.

Every season you can pick 1 shirt for $30, 2 for $25 each, and 3 for $20 each. They allow you to choose from their collection and you can cancel anytime. They also allow you to order older styles once you join, but you have to email them for that.

Also note that they do take returns, but you must return items in the original packaging. So, when trying on your shirts keep the actual plastic that each shirt comes in. If your shirt is defective in any way then take a picture an email them. I have had great interactions with their customer service, and they have no idea that I review them.

I was super impressed with my Summer order and so decided that I would take the plunge for Fall and now I am loving Winter. Especially since I now know how well these shirts hold up over time and how much they get worn!

The Scott: The material is so soft! It is a fun play on a regular black long sleeved shirt that adds a bit of edge to your look. I was worried my bra straps would be shown through the neckline but they didn’t. I was so thankful because wearing a strapless bra would negate any of the comfort the shirt gave me! I think this is a fun casual outfit that can be dressed up or down.

Now I sort of want to cut the necklines of some of my other shirts, I won’t, but I kinda want too!

The Cooper: This is my favorite top so far. If the pics show a smudge of dirt it is because when I first tried this on I could not help but wear it for the day… I just looked so put together with this shirt and black leggings. Easily one of my now go to work tops for when it is a bit cold outside. I am even thinking about buying another because I don’t ever want to not have it when I need it!

Whenever I try this look with too separate shirts I end up looking super lumpy… like day old oatmeal…

The Carson: I pulled this out and was sorta like, how can I even try to wear this? The color, and the whole style was a bit foreign to me. I put it on over the black shirt and it is so cute! It is super comfortable, and the color actually looks nice while on. I now see I have been totally missing out on a whole area of fashion and feel kinda sad about it. However, I am not a part of the party so that is a good thing!

It looks like a vest from the future!

Verdict: E&C was a hit for me this Winter. I am impressed with how soft their clothing is and how each shipment helps me look sharper for work while at the same time, can work in other situations where I need to look like my car doesn’t have old french fries under the seat, or that I don’t have a whole drawer of Taco Bell hot sauce packets I keep “in case of emergency.”

I love that vestie thing. It looks a perfect solution when your shirt is stained or wrinkled….

Right?!? Like whoopsie, I spilled a mocha on my chest… AGAIN… Bring out the vest of Hidden Shame!

Or I am running late and the shirt that I absolutely must wear because it is the only thing making me happy right is waded in a ball on the floor and there is no way I have time to iron it but oddly the sleeves look fine sooooo vest of a hidden 1000 shames…

A vest of a hidden 1000 shames would’ve been useful to me the day I decided to wear the only white article of clothing in my possession–a white cardi that I’d had for years, lent to a friend, then shoved in my closet. I hate white clothing, and SURPRISE there were giant pit stains on it! Which of course I noticed about an hour into my day. Sigh. I just threw it away. But, now I know I just need to order a non-wrinkling, waterproof vest and just shove it into my desk drawer!

I just signed up for their emails hoping for a code one day lol!

I think MSA has a $10 off coupon! That is all they offer usually. They are not big on sending a bunch of spam. I HATE when companies (yeah birchbox and others) send out crazy amounts of emails. It is annoying as all heck!

      • February 7, 2016 at 4:17 pm

I hate it when companies are all or nothing. Michael’s does COUPONS EVERY DAY OR NONE AT ALL! It drives me nuts. I want just like one weekly email with a coupon. I’m not a retired 70 year old who crafts on the daily, and needs to go in with 6000 coupons to make everyone in line just want to die. Though, I guarantee you that will be me someday!! =D

Check out the app Shopular. It has coupons and store ads for tons of stores! It has saved me so many times when I’ve needed something from Michael’s or AC Moore.

Ohhh, I just deleted Retail Me Not because the stores I go to don’t accept the coupons from there… I’ll have to check yours out, thanks!
