Just Between Us (JBU) Subscription Review + Coupon – February 2016

Just Between Us (JBU) is a lifestyle subscription for girls with a fun take on fashion. While now, it is between the royal “Us,” I was really interested in the bonding nature this subscription seems to offer. If you know any young girls, or maybe you were once a young girl (I sometimes think I am always an awkward young girl on the inside), you may have a good idea of how much fun having your own “thing” to bond over can be.

I was able to get some insight from my coworkers daughter because she is the perfect age for this subscription at 10 years old. She is a bit shy, but shared her opinions! The age ranges for this subscription are 9 – 14 years old. I can only imagine what I would be like if I had found out about subscriptions at that age! 😉

Cost: $19.99 + Shipping and less with longer subscriptions

Well this box tells me two things:

1. It is bright and happy

2. I need to figure out  away to stop the mail sorters from writing my info all over boxes!

Just Between Us

Really cute personal details! Emma thought it was cool to have a personal touch and that it felt like it was more for her. I personally am sorta into cute packaging because I never take the time to do anything crafty myself.

My Cup of Cake – Classic Belgian Chocolate: I thought I was excited when we were able to try this in another subscription but my excitement paled in comparison. If you haven’t tried this, you really should because they are tasting and who doesn’t want to just whip up a warm cake in a mug? The serving size is for two, so if you were bonding you could both make this together and talk. I really like that idea. Or girls could enjoy this and you whole kitchen won’t be a huge mess.

I somehow make messes no matter what!

Valentine Recycle Sak: I like that this is strong, and that it gave me a chance to find out how smart Emma is in terms of how to be “Green.” The bag itself is thick and can be folding into the smaller tote. It also has a velcro closing so that your stuff won’t be likely to fall out. The little fold up zipper pouch can be used on the inside!

I wanted to keep this for myself lol

Shooting Star Necklace: This is really cute and she really liked it. It is delicate and appropriate for a young girl. It is not flashy or over the top. Again, you won’t have to take something like this away because of worry that it is too grown up. But it is still fun and something she can show to her friends.

You won’t have to worry if it gets lost or broken!

Verdict: I get ask a lot about what box to get a girl in this age group and it is very tough. Most subscriptions are not appropriate for a young teen. You can’t send them a box with make up because they will want to wear it out (well usually I am just thinking about myself at that age) and have a mix of products is exciting. JBU did a great job with appropriate items that both surprised and made a young lady very happy.  The price point is good, and the peace of mind that you won’t be gifting a box that is going to get you into trouble is a value to me. A fun way for young ladies to get it on the subscription fun without the headache and worry she will be send something better left for *ahem* more mature ladies.

Did you see the cat ear headband on their website? I think they can expand the age group but they might get some villagers upset if their girl’s heads are too small. I can totally see that but I would be “so what” its cute and it barely fits their head and they are having fun! My Pnut people treat calculators as cell phones lol those blinged out cases are cute! Boxes like this makes the wee ones feel more grown up. I do remind my girls to “enjoy their weehood because they are only wee once” because before they know it they will no longer be wee.

Great review I am glad the company gave you the box to review what a great find! It’s like a wee version of PopSugar Must Have 😀

I did not see it. I did however buy cat ears headband meant for use when you wash you face. I just kick it in mine LOL Thank you as always Pnut, and yeah I think this was pretty cute and great for the kid you want to get a gift for but ummmm don’t really know what she will like, and you want to make sure it doesn’t send them nipple creams or something…

Could you imagine marketing? “And these are the items we will never send…”

I showed the box to my 11-yo and she was totally digging it. I think I’ll subscribe and see how happy it actually makes her. So far, every time I’ve subscribed to a tween box, she’s been disappointed when she actually got it.

I was really glad to get help with my review because it is tough for me to know what young ladies will like. They are so different from me as a kid. When I posted the box to instagram I noticed there were some variations so check them all out. One had a bear, which I think your little one might be a little too mature for at this point. But then again, I personally don’t have kids. So, I could be totally off.

Well, I hadn’t realized it had $7 shipping. For $20, this might be fine, for $27, it’s not. It’s funny, but the $20 is a big psychological barrier for me.

I get Horror Block for my youngest, but not every month as it’s too expensive for that. But it comes with a t-shirt, so at least it’s somewhat practical.

I will note the shipping cost! I think for the longer subs it comes out to be a great price. At least for those who just want a hassle free way to find a gift for tweens. Seriously, I will take any easy gift idea I can.

Although the $5 off for the first month might make it something to still try lol (I dunno, I don’t have any affiliate links or whatever so I just thought the $5 off was pretty darn good!)
