Saturday Trash Talk

This weekly segment is really making me step up my samplin game. But I know there are a few of you out there who collect your trash as well. Let us see it!!! Come on please?

Email me at: mailboxjunkie808 at gmail dot com and I will include your photos and reviews!!!!

I included a few extras to keep the party interesting this week:

Lollia Perfumed Shower Gel: (10 points to the one who can guess)
Who can guess which box this came out of?!?! yep, it came out in a summer box in 2014. It took me a year and half to finish it. I would have left it in the cabinet if it weren’t for this weekly segment! My thoughts on it are meh. It has a very powdery smell that turns me off for some reason (which is why it probably took me so long to use it).

To Go Spa eye patches: (PSMH)
This was a packet of ice water eyes from To Go Spa. They feel delightful. After I use up my last pack I am going to try their subscription box because Subscriptionista’s review of their box has me convinced I need more spa and wine in my life.

Board and Batten Sugar Scrub in Fig and Turmeric (Good Being box)
This is the first sugar scrub I have used that I actually wanted more of. It has simple ingredients but I think it is more moisturizing then some others I have tried. I used it when my legs got really dry to lock in moisture. It has both shea butter and jojoba oil.

Patchology Illuminate Flash Mask: (PSMH)
Holy Cow, this mask was beyond phenomenal. I left it on for longer than 5 minutes (because I thought it was supposed to be on for 15 minutes and then I checked and it was 5). But man I am so impressed with my moisturized face post mask removal. I combined it with my To Go Spa eye patches and I put it all on after a hot shower. Highly recommend!

Odacite Carrot Oil
This sample is like the size of a grain of sand. The retail value on this sample is insane ($23). I was kind of skeptical because well it just seemed crazy fancy to me. But hmmm another holy cow moment. This stuff is made in France from fancy french carrots. As much as I have talked myself out of it, I am going to purchase the full size. It smells so good like freshly cut grass. You mix 2 drops in with your lotion and that is all. This sample lasted me 3 months!

Ok and so one thing led to another and I decided to purchase this serum they make first: (also amazing!!)

Ok and now to scare you to your core:

Now Onto Heat 7918 Trash Bag:

HEat

Manefit Cucumber Soothing + Moisturizing Mask from the Birchbox Korean Beauty Box in January – worked like a sheet a mask! Not significantly better or worse for me than any other which is my usual finding.
Glo Minerals Lash Boosting Mascara from BeautyFix (July 2015) – I got 2 of the boxes with this mascara (on purpose) and gave 1 of the the mascaras to my mom and she LOVED it! I didn’t open the 2nd one until Nov/Dec and I think maybe I waited too long or something because mine seemed a little dried out and didn’t wow me at all.  My own fault, I guess but I thought it be okay since it wasn’t opened – oh well.
Sephora Pearl Sheet Mask – I bought the variety pack of these masks on sale over the summer when I ordered the Sephora Sun Safety Kit. I’ve liked them all including this one!
Keranique Scalp Stimulating Shampoo & Keranique Volumizing Keratin Conditioner from BeauyFix (August 2015) – If you don’t know, I’m one of those weird people that only notices a difference between products if it’s a BIG, OBVIOUS improvement or really sucks. So I’m not sure if this affected my hair much but I LOVE the minty smell! Scent is a big deal for me with shampoos & conditioners but I also think some people wouldn’t like this smell… it’s more of a medicinal minty-ish?
Nip Fab GlycolicFix Exfoliating Facial Pads from Target Beauty Box (Nov or Dec?) – I believe there were 5 pads in the sample and I didn’t really notice a change in my skin (see comment above me being weird) but it felt good and I like the concept. I’d like to try it more and would consider purchasing – when I make a dent in my current stash of skincare products.
L’Oreal Revitalift Miracle Blur Instant Skin Smoother Finishing Cream – I can’t remember if this foil was from Target or Wal-Mart. I really thought it was Target but  can’t find the exact product on their web-site. I squeezed 2 uses out of it and it seemed fine – no miracle for me but nice!
ToGoSpa Pomegranate Eyes from… yes, ToGoSpa!  I finished this pack of 3. I find pomegranate not quite as slippy as coconut but not sure that either ones has a big effect on my under-eye wrinkles. They may have more effect on puffiness – which isn’t usually a problem for me but I will test them out in Vegas next week!!!!
Extra Note: Since I rarely notice a big difference from any product, I HAVE to share when I find a product that is amazing for me! And I can’t wait until it’s empty… In  a recent Target box, they sent me a sample of Living Proof Perfect Hair Day 5-in-1 Cream and I LOVE it!! New Holy Grail. FYI – my hair is fine, wavy & frizzes easily. I use a small amount (dime size? hair is past my shoulders but not quite to my bra in back) of the cream on wet hair, blow dry straight with a BIG round brush and it’s the smoothest my hair has been in a long time – so happy! I’ve used it 5 times now including when I brought it to get my hair done and asked my stylist to use it instead of her normal products.  🙂

Thanks for sharing! This is my favorite post of the week.

I don’t know if you know, but the sheet mask has a little piece that you can fold down to cover the top of your nose. Almost all masks fold in such a way that it’s easy to miss, but I can see the outline of it there in your picture!

This week’s best empty was the Kocostar Hair Therapy that I got in a Glossybox (bought in their sale of old boxes). I left it on for over an hour (vs the 15 minute minimum) and it made my hair very soft and smooth. I’m not sure what I think about paying $7 or $8 for a single treatment, but I may if this effect lasts through shampooing.
