3b (Beauty Beyond Borders) Subscription Review – March 2016

3b stands for Beauty Beyond Borders and is a beauty subscription that seeks to bring you the best in Asian beauty and perhaps products in general.  I have heard a ton about these types of items and so decided why not give this box a whirl because it was $12 which isn’t too much of a monthly gamble for me. I mean, all I have to do is get a cheaper bottle of wine or two and the budget it all good!

There is a waitlist to sign up. If you decide you are interested I suggest you get on it and they will email you to tell you when a spot opens up. I think I waited over a month. It is not like the fake Ipsy waitlist!

Oddly, I noticed that they say the $12 subscription also includes “Unlimited access to our team to answer any questions you might have.” This to me feels like a challenge of sorts. Wouldn’t it be funny if I started writing this team all sorts of odd questions? I wonder what kind of relationship advice they give!

Here is what it looks like when you open the box! Why it is a bag! I actually love to reuse these bags for when I send out stuff or even when I travel. I get a lot of stuff and I used to get away with more gifting now I see the sweat on my friends brows as they see me arrive with stuff to try to give them so… yeah…

Dermal Dream – Sea Cucumber Supreme Mask: I love sheet masks! I am a total convert because they are just so freaking easy to use and there is usually no rinsing needed so you can just do one of these after a shower while internet stalking your favorite blogger/worst ex boyfriend, and fall right asleep!

The Sea Cumber on this mask looks like something for a terrible creepy dream….

Sorry about the cat hair lol

SKINFOOD – My Shortcake Setting Mascara: I never get how or why names get their names. Shortcake? Hmmm. I mean yes it has little shortcakes on it which is actually cute, but it isn’t made of shortcakes from what I understand… Also I wouldn’t want to put anything on my lashes that make them look short. I am betting they mean this will fatten lashes and maybe dry fast? I JUST opened a tube of mascara and plan on also doing a mascara blog post. So I am going to save this for that.

This is also NOT a shortcake topping… trust me…

COSRX – Blackhead Silk Finger Balls: Wow this takes me back to elementary school! Remember silk worms and how they made their homes? Anyway, you take a couple of these bad boys, soak them in warm water, and then out them on your fingertips. After that you just scrub away to get rid of the black heads you may or may not have. I mean I don’t live on your face so I don’t honestly know if you have them or not.

Ha! I misspelled “elementary and had to correct it! Maybe I should go back!

Secret Key – Witch Hazel Pore Clear Toner: I am getting more and more into toners. It feels nice and fresh after a work out to do a little toner. I know most people wash their face with soap right after. But I am not most people. I have the power to be a little voice in your head. Hear? As you read? That’s me!

I am digging that this is a full size and really shows how 3b tries to bring the value every chance that they get! This doesn’t have a lot of bad stuff and could be good for your skin if you have problem areas. My problem area is right about and about my shnoze.

I promise not to tell if you pronounce “Witch Hazel” as “Which Hazel”

Verdict: I think this was a really fun month! I totally feel like I got my $12 worth and I am excited to try new products that I would never have picked up by myself. I also was pretty impressed with all the full sized products. I really don’t expect so much for $12 and 3b usually exceeds my expectations. I like that this month I will step out of my comfort zone, but not so much that I will have to psych myself up.
