Beauty Heroes is a subscription box that desires to send you something good. And they mean superhero good. The goodness they desire to send you can only be compared to the equivalent of you driving a whole day without succumbing to road rage.

Like I said, stuff only superheros can do……….

Ships: Monthly
Cost: $39
Shipping: Free as a bird
In the box: One super hero beauty (skincare, hair, body or makeup) product and a possible sidekick!

You might be saying to yourself that you are unsure if you can commit to one item without knowing what it is before hand. Or you could be saying to yourself that this sounds like a great deal. Or you could be dreaming of a sandwich. Either which way, let’s unbox!

Beauty Heroes is a subscription box and an educational experience all wrapped up into one. Here is their info card:

Cue David Bowie (RIP!), “we could be heroes, just for one day”……
Or we could be heroes for many days, because this months selection is huge!

Skin Owl Beauty Drops PM in Mangosteen (RV $85)

Here are the directions:

Zero in on: Reverse signs of fatigue!!
This product came just in time as I am about to have a newborn!

So I was a little skeptical that an oil alone would keep my dry as the Sahara face moisturized all night as the directions say to replace your moisturizer with this product. However, I was really pleasantly surprised that my face felt great in the morning. I have only used it for three days now so I can’t claim that my life/skin/mental problems have been changed but I do like the way it feels and the way it smells.

Did you see that ingredient list? Nope it is not a typo. Only two things!

What is a mangosteen you say? Glad you asked. Here is a pic from Beauty Heroes Website as well as a link to their info article on the benefits of mangosteen

The article is short and a great read. It contains words like xanthones, aubergine and environmental aggressors. With the highlight of the article citing that the US National Library of Medicine has over 20 articles that mangosteen has proven effects on cancer cells (www.beautyheroes.com).

Cancer fighting superhero?!? Does it get any better?

20160307_105331-1Here is the fancy sidekick:
Skin Owl Beauty Steam in Heroic Helichrysum -(18 ml about 1/3 of full size)

So I have been dying to get a beauty steam in a sub box. Mostly because I really really want to try it but don’t want to pay full price for herbs in a jar that if I was more motivated I could make up myself. So hooray! I think my minds desires are truly powerful. Next up, winning powerball!

Lastly here is the pocket card they include with each box:

Having a pocket card is SUPER helpful in any natural foods store (in my case Whole Foods) because just you can whip it out quickly to check ingredients and still keep your eyes open to avoid being run over by just about anyone on Maui…. (it is a small store and a popular place).

Survey Says:

This box is a win for me. I took a few months off this winter and really regretted it because they kept sending out stuff I wanted like Josh Rosebrook Shampoo and Conditioner! Anyway, if you are interested in them but don’t want to commit then I would watch their instagram for spoilers. Also sometimes you have time once they release what the product is to sign up before they sell out.

Did you mention that the mangosteen drops smell like heaven? It has done wonders for the eczema on my hands! I was not super excited about the steam, but I tried it this weekend and I LOVED it. I wonder if I could do the same thing with loose tea? This is my favorite subscription every month without question! I love it so much I have 2 subscriptions!

They do smell like heaven! I thought you were showing me how your eyes will connect the words without the vowels!! (Haha just kidding!) It is funny how your mind does that though! Having 2 subs is a great idea because what will you do when you run out off the fancy stuff they send (like last month’s beauty counter oil?!?!) I wish I had bought 2 of last months!!!
So for the beauty steam I was thinking camomile tea, lavender, maybe ginger and an orange essential oil?! But a lot of the non-caffinated teas are camomile, hibiscus or lavender based which seem to be like what the steams have in them.
