Birchbox Subscription Review – March 2016

Birchbox cost’s $10 a month but if you review your items then you get a credit of 10 points for each one which is $1 to use in the store. Points can only be spent in increments of $10. Which take no time to get. They have the best point system out of any box I have tried!

Birchbox is the “Gateway” box that will lead you down a road I have yet to make my way back from. Perhaps  in that forest of boxes you and I will meet and discuss bronzer while spraying various products all over our hair. The murmurs around us will lead us to our next “Holy Grail” beauty item…

Pnut has already reviewed the Curated Choice this month which you can take a looking at by clicking here!

This is a review of one of my accounts with a totally random choice. I have a few accounts because they had a really good sale of year subscriptions and it was the holidays… so…. sigh….

Birchbox Review March

I am a fan of the box design. It makes me feel like I will find a piece of the puzzle. Not sure what puzzle or what piece though.

Number 4 – Clarifying Shampoo (with bonus Reconstructing Mask Foil): I think have a little elephant on the bottle is super cute. I have yet to really use this product even though I was sent it before. I really should wash my hair more, but that is a whole other bag of problems right?

I am glad it isn’t a Number 1 or 2…

Smashbox Cosmetics – Photo Finish Primer Oil: Fancy I get to try a brand new product! The sample is smaller than I would like because as we all know I am greedy on the products I know will be a good fit for me. I have dry skin and a little oil is never a bad thing for me. I wonder if this will really work as primer, because I will be sad if my make up slides off.

If my make up slid off it would be an interesting sorta melting picture though…

Supergoop – Everyday SPF 50 with Cellular Response Technology: I sorta giggle at the thought of this magic cellular response technology… I need to look further into it but… I am dubious. I mean it sounds like it belongs on Star Trek.

Let’s go to Warp 5 and employ Cellular Response Technology… Engage!

treStiQue – Color & Smudge Shadow Crayon (Aspen Pine): I dislike typing the name of this company even though I like their products a whole bunch. Let’s just face it: I am crazy for crayons! Yas! I am glad I didn’t get blue (sorry Rachel Zoe…) but not overly juiced to get green. I like that it is dark so I can probably pull it off.

I can pull anything off in public after a bottle of wine… anything!

White & Elm: Rose & Argan Antioxidant Serum: This is a brand I first came across in Kloverbox. I love this product because it doesn’t make me break out at all. This little vial makes it look like I am smuggling some sort of new street drug around. Which sorta would make me cool and cutting edge right?

Aww, naw… Officer…. This? Oh yeah, this is totally natural man… totally!

VerdictBirchbox did me right with this box! I love most of all the products and the one’s I don’t I still haven’t had a chance to try. I find it odd that I get such different things on my different profiles because I filled them all out exactly the same as a test. I think i have only had it happen once in over a year. Anyway, I am super excited to try new products and be on the cutting edge. I mean, there are so few times I get to try things before all my friends given that I have turned into a blogger recluse who lives in a tower of boxes 😉

What is with the goats giving horrible eyeshadow crayons lately!?! Other than the eyeshadow crayon, you have a great box this month. Clarifying shampoo, serum, primer and sunscreen everything a lady needs (along with green eyeshadow, panda eyes and red lippy) to get ready in the morning as she awaits her FedEx carrier.

Another instance of bad things happening to a good eyeshadow. Have you tried the facial oil yet? I’ve yet to find one that I can use during the day.

I will use it tomorrow and report back! I keep forgetting. What type of foundation should I wear over it? I have bare minerals are we can go liquid bb foundation

From my experiences with oils I have had to put on powder foundations just to kill the oil slick look but still keep some of the oil sheen. It’s a slippery slope.

I will do powder tomorrow just to see. I have dry skin so I wonder if things will get slippery but I figure first powder and then liquid will be a great test

Ok so yesterday I used a powder and the oil and for me worked really well. I wouldn’t call it a “primer” per se. You know how primers usually feel like you’re putting silicon on your face? This does not make my face greasy at all and I really like it. Today we will see with BB cream!

I got the primer oil last month and I really like it! It’s not as dry as a “dry oil” but it’s not as wet as a regular oil. I find that it does soak in pretty quickly – I usually do my eyes after applying it and then my skin is ready for me to apply my liquid foundation / BB.

I got the green crayon too… I haven’t decide yet if I want to try it.

So jealous of your serum-that-looks-like-a-drug! Maybe I’ll get that in my next box – fingers crossed!

You got a great bag! I even love the green eye shadow because I decided on my last birthday that my new look will be fun, gaudy and “what the hell is she wearing???”! I am even going with a big pink stripe next time I get my hair done, I figure, why not, it’ll grow out! And that oil primer is great for dry skin! I wear it alone or under my BB cream.

I am all about gaudy when I dont have to work but since I am sorta thinking about finding a new “home” I am going to get WAY more fun looking. Your post was beyond sweet. I felt so good because often times (as you know) when you blog it is just you and a computer. You never know if anyone will read or like or care. While I always write 100% for myself first. (I totally love me) It feels so great when someone else reads too. You got me excited about blogging again!
