bluum Subscription Box Review + Coupon – March 2016

Subscription Box: bluum

image

Cost: Starts at $34.00 per month with discounts given for longer subscriptions.

Special Offer: Try bluum for $10 off on your first month with code MYBABY10.

What You’re Getting:

Personalized Monthly Boxes For Moms & Babies (up to preschool level). You can either let (1) Bluum select your items, (2) let Bluum know your preferences and Bluum will select your items based on your preferences, or (3) customize your box by choosing your own items. I choose to customize my items. If I recall correctly, there is a 30 minute count-down timer and you can select from different categories that are in your chosen (Bluum cutely calls “Describe the Cuteness”!)’s age group. Once you select one item, then all categories reshuffle. At this time with customization, you can only choose four items but apparently a fifth item/option may be available in the future because there is an icon depicting a fifth slot.

Kick Back and Get Comfortable:

Ok so I have many reasons why I got Bluum. First, I used a code for a year subscription. Second, same I did with Citrus Lane; I used most of the higher priced items as presents and the rest as a surprise gifts or presents for my Pnut people (also know as my little ones).

Third, the Sugar Bug Doctor (or for normals the Dentist) gave Pipsqueak a present, a fairy door in where fairies will come by and check on her and her sisters and occasionally give gifts for good behavior. And of course the door will allow the tooth fairy to come in when she starts losing her baby teeth which is why the Sugar Bug Doctor gave it to her. There are many other colors for of this fairy door but Pipsqueak would have chosen this purple glitter door in a heartbeat!

So here is said fairy door bought from my beloved Amazon:

Moving on to the main show. . . The BLUUM box!

Melissa & Doug Water Wow!

Melissa & Doug Water Wow!: I have two of these already from the Amazon. I have an Alphabet Water Wow! that is currently MIA so it was perfect that I got this. I hope to find the Alphabet Water Wow! because it is good for tracing letters. I also need to look into purchasing the Number Water Wow! for the same purpose. The above Water Wow! was recently delivered by fairy (with one of the found books thanks to Tinkerbell)!

Melissa & Doug Water Wow! delivered by fairies!

The girls loved the Water Wow! Water Wow! is very convenient because it only requires a little water from the water pen to give some color and it fades quickly. If you are familiar with Crayola color wonder this is one better because of the re-usability. It also teaches patience to wait for the color to show and for the color to disappear. I have not had any issues with the quality of the book breaking down from the water. The pen does not dry out or spill (unless someone opens it but then the pen is design not to leak out it has a perfume sample opening if that makes any sense). These Water Wows! will be transported to be used in the car.

Maybe that is where the third MIA Water Wow! book is!

Crazy A’s Card Game Level One

Crazy A’s Card Game Level One:

This Crazy A’s Card Game will be gifted. It is very cute, educational and portable. And the dog is happily (ummm scratching, jumping or something)? I am reading too much into this I think if I was drunk I would read out “tepid mom bus” and that the dog is about to mark his territory upon the bus card. I digress, apparently this game is similar to Crazy 8s. But I have no clue about that game I just read Amazon reviews whilst making my bluum selections.

I am now fixated on the doggie. What is it doing? Farting?

BeginAgain Elephant Family Puzzle

BeginAgain Elephant Family Puzzle:

I am wondering whether to keep this or gift it. It comes in a wooden box. See it is the packaging that lures me in. And the cuteness. Look at the baby elephant all cozy with its parent. The baby is like “did I fart!?!” And the mom is like “did YOU fart!?!” This puzzle is very whimsical (farts can be whimsy if played right just look at this puzzle for example)! And very first child gifty like. I will likely gift as a baby boy gift since I have a ton of baby girl gifts!

How could something so small be so smelly!

Imagine I Can Shape Stack

Imagine I Can Shape Stack: Oh wow! This tin is tiny! Like the size of a regular Altoids tin. I think I am going to keep this one since it is very portable. Also my Pnut people are liking building towers and try to build them as high as possible without falling. This might be a nice game to play when we go out to eat since I can keep track of the pieces.

Spoiler Alert: Next month’s bluum will be a change of pace. I did not care for the toy selections in April for the most part so I ended up getting some cleaning supplies instead of passing Target and paying $200 for them.

Pnut’s bluum box – March 2016 Group Shot All Together Now!

Verdict: This month was another month mostly intended for the gift pile but I already have claimed 50% for my wee ones. I think I need to collect more Water Wow! and those small Imagine I Can tins. But that Elephant is sooo cute maybe it belongs with us as its family…. I love love love bluum because I can customize from their selections!

Happiness and a coupon code is PRICELESS!

I think the expression on the puzzles are priceless!

Water Wows rock! Amazon has a set of three for $12. Otherwise they are $5ish. Just keep track of the water pens.

The Water Wows are a big hit with my toddler. I need to remember that these make great gifts!

I love the elephant puzzle. My toddler is really into puzzles right now and I think this is a good one for him. Nice find.

Pnut, have you ever let the box be completely a surprise? There just aren’t a lot of boxes for babies and toddlers (RIP Citrus Lane and Austin Lloyd) and I would love a box that can introduce me to developmental toys that I didn’t know about.

I am not sure about having bluum be a surprise… I like to choose items when there is an option versus the unknown. For example, I usually always choose the curated Birchbox!

      I do miss Citrus Lane!

I have a sweet friend who has a daughter with special needs. She introduced me to Alex toys and said her daughter’s therapist recommends the brand for all children because it develops their developmental milestones (specifically gross and fine motor skills). Also check out magnatiles and knockoffs that give more variety I think your sweet baby would like those with the puzzle kick! My beloved Amazon sells them all too lol.

Thank you so much Pnut! I’m going to check those out!

        (Amazon is my beloved too).

I liked how you explain the toys. Things have changed in the wee world. It’s helpful when buying gifts for my niece’s baby.

I need to gripe about Amazon. I went online surfing the Amazon today and Prime is now 3-5 day delivery. I think they are trying to push next day with qualifying orders over $35.
