Ipsy Subscription Review – April 2016

Ipsy is a subscription that costs $10 a month and sends out four or five deluxe sample size beauty items. Because of the price point it invites comparisons with Birchbox. Ipsy is more make up based, and has a “waitlist.” You can skip this wait if you pimp out your social media. I just emailed and asked to be put on the list and it was done very quickly.

The theme this month? Dreamers!

ipsy review

The bag looks cute and is summery. I can see putting this in my many larger tote bags to put in an even bigger beach bag…

Luxie – Tapered Highlighter Brush: Again I totes love brushes! I still have to get my stuff together for the epic washing post (Heat even send me pics of hers so that I could make it good!) but it makes it easier to let them just pile up when I keep getting them…

I feel sort of like an artist and maybe even if my make up skills suck my brush collections makes it look like big things happen!

Probelle – Nail Lacquer (In or Out): A spring like purple that I may or may not get around to putting on my many nails! I always do like a purple as it seems to make my skin look a little less pink. You see, I am forever looking like I have just got out of a hot car.

Not a look that is in style… yet!

Moroccanoil – Moroccanoil Treatment: I remember when this brand was a big thing! So expensive but it does help to smooth my fuzzy fur out. Also I love that this little bottle can travel so if I go somewhere humid I can just throw it in one of my mentioned many many bags and go!

Oh it’s just meeeeee using fancy hair oil!

Tarte – LipSurgence (Wonder): I actually really like Tarte and it is is rare I get any of the name nicer brand lip stuff in my bag. I really should be better about reviews. Anyway, after much wishing and hoping I finally was able to try out some fancy lip color!

Do I have to put this on and then kinda put a slacked jawed look on my face to convey my “Wonder?”

Nomad – Eyeshadow (Marrakesh Desert Sands): It feels like there is a Moroccan theme going here! I have many eye shadows that look like this color so I will gift this. It is super cute though, like a little compact!

Would be cool if real sand were in this…

VerdictIpsy did a great job for me this month! I finally got some fancy feathers brands in my bad and I love the range of products. The bag is cute, and I feel like I 100% got my $10 worth! Truly a dreamy bag!!! 😉

You got a great bag this month! I love getting brushes too. I finally gathered mine up and washed them all last week. It took forever bc I waited so long. I wish we would get one of those cool brush cleaning gloves that I’ve seen in magazines!

Oooh, I LOVE Moroccanoil for my hair. This was a great month!

My son uses my brushes to “paint” my bathroom floors. As I have not gotten around to washing them, I have been going sans makeup for weeks now.

Hey girl! Omg that is hilarious about your son!!! I can Sooo see that being something that happens on a hip mom TV show! My cat will chew on the brushes but not try to create art…

Moroccanoil in an Ipsy bag? Score!!! Hopes for Moroccanoil to become as “easy” as Tarte, a sub box whore in both low, mid and high end sub boxes but manages to get away with it (and not suffer a weakening of brand name) due to great products.

I love Tarte as well!!! I love how they have pretty packaging and make things looks so nice. I always feel bad when I have to use the stuff and “ruin” it

What’s this large tote bag you speak of? I need to ask my SIL to get me the huge thirty-one tote (it’s huge)!

Omg I have so many tote bags it’s insane. I actually use the one from the MSA/Kloverbox colab a lot. I actually wish she would do another box! It was an emotional roller coaster!

Good bag and pretty good contents. The dreamer photo is very 90s, like some awesome dance moves are about to occur from dudes with high fades and tracksuits. The eyeshadow is pretty, but it’s the shade I usually use when I go out. Meaning, I have lots of it and I rarely use it

It IS very 90s! I have going out make up I hardly use. I think I need to get dressed up for the pizza guy more…
