ModCloth Stylish Surprise is a mystery grab bag. It is offered several times a year in the categories of home, dress, apparel and shoes. It is not guaranteed to be stylish but it is going to be a surprise. My last stylish surprise was well, um, hmm a bust. Read reviews here. So I have sworn them off until the memory of its disaster fades.
However!!!! Did you know that the coolest people ever read this blog? They love weirdness, boxes, cats, and a whole mess of things in between. And so without further ado…I give you the Farmcat ModCloth Stylish Surprise Reveal:
FarmCat Intro:
Starla is the calico cat. She is my little darling and is 1 1/2 years old. Emily is the grey tiger stripe cat. She just turned 8 or 9. She is my little princess.And It was impossible to get a picture without a cat they wanted the boot box!!
Mailbox Junkie narration:
Here is where it began…A tale of two kitties (Emily and Starla), a box of shoes and an apparel item.
Hmmmmmm what’s in this box, wonders Emily….
Ah, it was not what was in the box but the box itself that had intrigued Emily..
Emily declares stylish surprise an incredible success…..
She is determined not to share her box with Starla..
Starla takes solace in a blanket that her owner purchased at a Mother Earth News Fair some years back…
Starla is over the stylish surprise reveal and drifts off to sleep….
The shoes are out of the box:
Like beckoning sirens they bring Emily out of her box…..
Starla must know what the fuss is about and leaves her important nap…
And now for some modeling
Here is what Farmcat herself says about these shoes:
The boots were too cute with the bow. Love the color it is like a burgundy. And the boots have amazing soles. Where I live that is much needed plus. I was surprised to find out the boots are a wedge and disappointed they pinched my toes. I purchased a size 8. The brand is Bella Marie. If the boots didn’t pinched my toes this would be a win.
Now to see the apparel item!
Emily went back to her box but Starla was intrigued and wandered outside:
She wondered if this apparel item was a new toy for her….
Farmcat impressions:
The top I’m not hundred percent sure but I think it is an oversized tunic. The brand is Sunny Girl. The color is black with skulls. The shirt is comfy and IF it was in a different color and without skulls it would have been a win. The shirt was extremely comfortable. I purchased size small.
Final Farmcat Opinion:
This time ModCloth was a bust for me. I spent $20 on apparel, $15 on shoes $4 on shipping.

I love the cat pictures! Very cute! It’s a shame the boots pinch because they are pretty cute. You could always wear the skull shirt to freak out unwanted visitors….or for Halloween. It looks like the style of the shirt is nice tho. Bummer that it wasn’t a win for you.
I was so happy when I saw the boots. They were so cute! And the wedge didn’t bother my knee. The shirt is extremely comfortable. I might purchase one of the other Sunny Girl tunics. Starla and Emily thank you for your comment.
The boots are super cute! Of course the kitties are stylish too. I want to try stylish surprise, I really do, but I’m too much of a coward. I’m sure you’ve all seen the post with the girl that got a Christmas Elf type dress so that has pretty much ensured I will never do one. I would end up with a weird pink bunny suit a la Ralphie in Christmas Story. But I live vicariously through others!
The kitties purred thank you for the compliment. 🙂 I like most of their stuff and it wasn’t a complete bust the shirt is extremely comfortable! So I might pick up one in a different color.
I like both these items! You could try getting the boots stretched by a cobbler. I have quite a few skull items, so I dig the shirt too, but get that skulls aren’t everyone’s cup of tea.

Love everything about the post! The kitties and the boots look great on you! You can try spraying water inside the boots then using a shoe stretcher (or shoe tree in a pinch).

Also I was going to tell you that there is a Modcloth bst group on FB. I think you could sell the shirt in a heartbeat. The people who are on that board love modcloth crazy stuff. (Like elf dresses)

I love the photos and narration. The boots look great. Have you tried googling for ways to stretch them if you are not selling them? Maybe there is an expensive way to stretch them out.

Modcloth stylish surprise burned me once with a pastel tie-dye muumuu-minidress, so never again.
I did, however, just get dragged into the horse-version of stylish suprise. A shop did a “mystery blanket sale” to clear out inventory of horse blankets. I splurged on a medium weight one for my little paint mare who is about to start training! Not that she needs one…but I requested bright colors or fun prints (all we have now are hunter green or navy BLAH).
I can’t wait for a Horsey Mod-Blanket Reveal!!

I have mixed feeling about the ModCloth stylist surprise. I thought I was going to get winter item. I was hoping for a sweater but I got a short sleeves tunic instead. I let FOMO get the better of me. This might be my last ModCloth stylish surprise.
I would love to know what blanket you get. I would love to see a fun bright color fun print horse blanket.
