BeautyDNA Subscription Box Review – May 2016

Subscription: Beauty DNA

Cost: $25.00/month

What To Expect:

You fill out a profile. Then Beauty DNA matches you to one of their products that match your profile. It is like dating but with beauty products that you are stuck with for better or worse. The profile is pretty intense and specific and you can be as picky as you want and Beauty DNA will always deliver you a product! So if you do not want parabens, sulfates, cat hair (well not cat hair) you check your preference (which are Yes, No, No Preference, I believe were the options).

Kick Back and Relax:

The Beauty DNA product de jour is…

Epicuren Enzyme Gel Plus

Subscriptionista received this product in her January Beauty DNA see here. She was not sure about reviewing it so she gave it to me after I marketed that I would review the product on my girls’ My Little Pony manes because for some reason in my (weird) head, I thought the product could be marketed for hair gel for My Little Pony. I digress…

Actually the yellow gel reminds me of the 80s LA Looks Hair Gel that my husband uses. Because DEP Hair Gel was discontinued RIP. I digress…

This gel serum comes in a pump and pumped it did! I really like Epicuren because Kristin Davis of Sex in the City Fame uses Epicuren and using Epicuren tries to make me have my “Inner Charlotte” come out to clean my home for perfection.

In reality cleaning my face and slapping on beauty products might be as close as I realistically get to relate to my “Inner Charlotte”!

It took me awhile to actually get to this serum so I when I hit the 50ML out of the 60ML bottle, I clearly felt like I knew it all to complete a review.

60ML is two ounces and I know this becuase baby bottles love the metric system.

The reason why I am reviewing this now is because I do believe this serum does most of its serum duties, however, my face feels parched afterwards and the list of subscription box sample moisturizers that I used in conjunction with this full size serum was getting longer. I just finished Biossance that I received in last month in my Glossybox (see review here) and I remembered to take a picture (see below for evidence).

I need to remember to put Biossance in my empties bag for MJ’s Saturday Trash post!

Verdict: So all in all, if I wear to recieve this for any reason, I would use it likely as a summer serum so my face does not feel as parched. In the game of subscription box serums, my favorite so far is Firmance which I received via Beauty DNA (see review here) ages ago.

Ages ago in sub box lingo must mean more than 6 months?

It was in more than one magazines that I read during the day that Kristin Davis was a spokesperson for Epicuren. She said “that’s all she used” or something like that.
