GlobeIn Subscription Box Review + Coupon – May 2016

Disclosure: Post contains affiliate links, Opinions? Honest as the work day is long…

GlobeIn is a subscription that seeks to bring the world to you every month in the form of carefully curated artisanal goods from throughout the world. They take the time to make sure items are fairly traded and therefore support artists and their work. This theme is really important to me as a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer I saw first hand while serving how much it can mean to an artist, family, and whole community to be fairly paid for their hard work. It can mean a drastically better life!

GlobeIn has two boxes:

Artisan Box: $35 a month, $33 per month with a 3 month subscription, and $30 a month with a 6 month subscription. Use coupon codes WELCOME to save 25% off of your first box with a 3 month subscription!!!

Note: You can choose a different box or theme to start your box with. They have different options if you wanted to get a past box as your first box!

Benefit Basket: A smaller version of the Artisan Box that has one item nestled a basket: $19.99 a month or $56.95 every 3 months. Use coupon code TRYBENEFIT to save $7 off of a 3 month subscription!!!

This month Globein partnered with water.org who has been working to get clean water to people in need. Naturally the theme is Hydrate

Trashy Bags – Upcycled Tote (Ghana): I have a zillion tote bags but not very many are as cool as this one! It is lightweight, strong, has a flat bottom, and best of all it zips up into its own pouch! How cool is that? The bags are made from recycled materials, and the bag is surprisingly cute. I wish I could upcyle more things. I am just terrible at crafts. I can’t even finish a craft box, let alone turn trash into gold!

I can’t even make my trash turn into silver…

Conscious Coconut Oil (Thailand): This bottle is so pretty and makes my bathroom counter look more put together! I am always blown away with how many things coconut oil can be used for! I mean seriously! You can basically slather this stuff on anything and expect it to do something magic. I usually use it straight from the jar which means I can’t really bust it out when I am on the go. This tube will make it easy for me to grab and go! Yay!

The Company Conscious Coconut is in Thailand, where I have noticed a lot of the coconut products I buy come from. They donate a meal to a child for each bottle purchased, hire developmentally disabled adults, and also make sure their farmers have their basic needs met.

I ummm would not follow their advice to use this as a natural deodorant… That would totally end tragically

Cristaluc – Glass Vessel (Mexico): I really dig this cup and am imagining all the drinks I am going to sip from this. It is now my special drinking cup! The group that makes these keeps an old artform alive and hires local artisans to work together to make these beautiful glasses.

As an aside, how is is the whole blowing glass art? I mean it is something I would be way to afraid to do. I am far to klutzy to be trusted around anything that hot. Also, how did someone even figure it all out? I mean, I would never ever in a zillion years ever be the one to invent glass blowing.

I might invent the next awesome cocktail though…

Zambeezi – Lip Balm (Zambia): This company works to help keep forests safe from destruction by providing ways for individuals to gain income from working with the environment rather than tearing it down in the timber industry.  It is made with mungongo oil which I have never ever heard of. Ever. Which comes from the mungongo nut. Fun fact, the nut can be eaten as well!

Mungongo is about the most fun work to say!

Roots of Creation/Swahili Modern – Brass Bottle Stopper: I don’t often have any wine left in the bottle to save but when I do I want to really celebrate my restraint. I finally have the perfect bottle stopper for the rare occasion! I love this giraffe so much!

It really is great quality and the detail is amazing! It also blows my mind that from start to finish these are made under one roof. I feel happy when I can write a blog post and do laundry under the same roof…

I want to get a whole heard of these and feel like I am on safari… without any of the bugs…. I hope

Verdict: Globein is really doing a great job working with different organizations to bring quality goods to subscribers that are both useful and support good causes. All items were great quality and went with the theme! I am really proud that they keep doing such a good job and I look forward to seeing what they will do next month. Now, I am off to uhhh…hydrate…with tequila!

I don’t know if it’s because I’ve seen several reviews for this or if it’s your particularly awesome review (the latter is always the case) but I want this GlobeIn Hydrate box! I’m afraid to look to see if it’s still available because I don’t need it…

I will happily join your bugless Safari! I hate bugs but they love me – especially mosquitos. 🙁

This touches my little heart! I think it really is an awesome box. The items really do with the theme and they really are nice. I am not hyping it up at all. You are TOTES invited to my bugless Safari! I think I have an odd stank because I don’t really get too many mosquitos like other people. Might be all the garlic I take down.
