Petit Vour Subscription Review – April 2016

From what I can gather Petit Vour is run by two bunny rabbits who, sick with the cosmetics world being cruel to their kind, decided to start their own subscription box that promotes cruelty-free vegan beauty items. These same bunny rabbits hold out the hope that you will “Be Bold. Be Kind.”

These bunny rabbits will not confirm nor will they outright deny that the Easter Bunny actually hides colored treat filled eggs year round. I know better of course because I can read all the signs!

Ok, I made up the part of the bunny rabbits because life is more fun when filled with whimsy. Still, with or without savvy fluffy heroes I decided to sign up.

Cost: $15 a month

A shout out to my best friend who took a lot of these pics! She is a vegan natural beauty gal and smells good. I am not sure why you need to know that but now you do.

100% Pure – Fruit Pigmented Satin Eye Shadow (Turks & Caicos): (In one pic you see that Kari actually got a blush. I included it so you can see the variation) This eye shadow is “Fruit Pigmented” which is kinda fun to say out loud. It sounds like there are cute little pigs who collect fruit and make the eyeshadow. At least to me. Anyway the packaging is nice and the container is glass, so it has a luxurious sort of feel. I like the color I got because it will be a perfect base for most other shadows. I love to use a base shadow that will hold other powder shadows so I couldn’t wait to slap it on!

Now to visit the Turks & Caicos while wearing this…

Ursa Major – Fortifying Face Balm: I for some reason thought this brand was only for guys. I think because they do make products for men and that is where I see the brand the most. In fact this product could be useful on your guys side of the sink. After all some guys have dry skin and need a little help to get the younger glow. I wouldn’t tell him that though.

It says to put this on, wait 15-30 seconds, and “do what you  do best.” For me? Sit on the internet giving my unsolicited opinion ever chance I get!

Kumari – River Bath & Body Oil: The thought of river water on my body after a shower makes me sort of cringe. Good thing this is not actually river water at all! The smell is light and natural with notes of lavender and mint. I have dry skin so putting on a nice oil after showering would be a treat! This can also be put in the bath, if you like to float your way to glowing skin!

Using a dropper makes me feel like a chemist!

Juara – Hand & Nail Balm: I am never super excited over hand and nail balm. I dunno why because I have about the most raggity hands ever. I need to drink more water or something. Or sleep in lotion mitts… how sexy are lotion mitts btw?!?

I will let you know if it is a game changer!

Verdict: I am a wee bit underwhelmed by this months box. I think the value is there for $15 but it does not blow me away by any means. The sizes were all pretty small save for the eyeshadow. They shadow itself was a win and worth the box to me. It usually costs $25 which is kinda crazy for one color IMO but I really like it and will use it. I hope that they get some larger sizes or surprise me next month. Still, a good value but not as great as usual.

Disclosure: I bought this box by giving them money, and carrots. There are referral codes in this post that once clicked and used will give me PV points which I don’t 100% understand.

I wonder if they’re doing variations from now on. I got the Kumari & Juara products, but a different brand of eyeshadow.. My color was nice (a kind of muted purple), but I so rarely wear makeup that it feels like a bit of a loss to me.

I also received Smart Ash teeth whitening….dirt, it looks like. Actually though, I really like the product. It has no taste & it’s fun to brush with black powder. It makes me feel edgy. And it’s actually making a noticeable difference on my teeth. Yay!

I love reading the reviews on your site! I am new to subscription boxes (only do Box of Style right now) and am wanting to try more (perhaps monthly or bi-monthly), now that I’m hooked on the idea of getting a seasonal box of happiness. Thank you for reviewing so many types of boxes!

For saving my hands from Horse Farm destruction, I think SkinFix’s Hand Repair Cream is the best thing I’ve tried. The first ingredient is allantoin (totally awesome) and it has 1% colloidal oatmeal for soothing. Expensive, but worth every penny.

I actually discovered it at Marshalls when they changed packaging awhile ago! I love stumbling on holy grail products so randomly.

Marshalls is the BEST! I love undiscovered products that show themselves in marshalls or like your dreams… naw, just discount spots like Marshalls hehe
