Happy Rebel is a subscription that hopes to catch the eye of all the ladies who crave a little more edge in their mailboxes. Let’s face it, the majority usually rules most subscriptions and it can mean pillow after pillow after socks after scarf. So for those with some rebel but with enough money to blow on subscription boxes this one may be for you!

Part of me was worried I would be sent a knife with crystals on it to use when I am in and jam… or what if I was sent brass knuckles in the shape of kittens and skulls so that I would have ummm the upper-hand in negotiations? I really didn’t have to worry because this is a subscription that curates items with classic style that still have a modern edge!

I like the happy and dark theme of their skull and the fact that the info card not only gives info on the products included but also the charity selected for this quarters box.

 

Girls Educational Mentoring Services (GEMS) was picked this summer for their work on ending the commercial sexual exploitation and trafficking of girls and young women. GEMS seeks to change individual lives and have impact on not only on empowering those who experienced exploitation but also to shape policy so that even more will protected and helped in the future. This helps not only women from all over the world but those in our very own communities as sexual exploitation and trafficking isn’t just an “over there” problem. The theme this Summer? Poolside Summer (YAS!!!)

 

Geometric Print Round Towel: When the spoiler came out for this it set the subscription box world afire. Which is a funny sentence to type and actually mean with all my little heart! I have never seen people get so giddy in comments over a spoiler… and if I have seen anything close it has been a long time. Seriously, ladies were making me want to go out and buy 50 of these and just lay them all over my place to show how trendy and cool I am.

The towel is huge! I have a hard time trying to get pics of it while not looking like a crazy lady at the pool. I figured it was impossible (for more reasons than I can count) so I just went for it and got the shot! This towel is nice and thick and the border fringe gives it a real “you might have more of a bikini body, but my towel is SO much better than yours and I look gorgeous eating Cheetos on it” feel…

It is so nice I sort of don’t want to bring it around other people who might dare try to use it… I will carry a little zip lock of cat hair and if anyone wet even looks at the towel I will make it “Rain Cats”…

 

 

Oversized Black Lace Kimono: LOVE! I was a little afraid that I would be too tall for it. Yeah, I am on the taller side of lady so many times one sized items make me look like a giant in normal peoples clothing. My mom argues that it is “still a look.” Which is correct, it just is not the one I am going for!

Anyway it fits perfectly and I love the quality! I am so shocked how thick and also soft the lace it. I thought for sure it would be thin and scratchy. I guess I need to look into buying better stuff for myself. This was made by a collaboration between Happy Rebel and Talia Touch who owns her own shop with handmade Kimonos and bikinis. I love what she has and now am going to have to do my best not to spend all my money there!

I love that this came in black because I can wear it around the house when I am trying to seem sexy. My cat Sophia von Bearcat de Coronado has told me that I “rarely seem to try anymore” and that the “peeping birds peering in the window have become bored and resentful at the lack of plumage on display in the house.”

If my sister is reading this the answer is NO you may NOT borrow this. 

 

Silicone Wine Glass Set: Hot damn! My kind of poolside item! This are awesome because I can bring them by the pool without breaking the glass rules. I also like that they are soft so they won’t break. Yes, I have managed to break even plastic wine glasses so… you know my poolside fun is for real. On the level though, these are perfect for the on the go wino who still wants to put on airs of normalcy and dare I say polish?

Plus when you bend them in your hands you feel like a magician! Magic! For my next trick? I will make that bottle of wine disappear! 

 

Hand-painted Canvas and Vegan Leather Tote: This is another Happy Rebel collaboration but this time with Annet Weelink. Her specialty is hand drawn and painted prints which is pretty awesome. I tried to think of my own specialty but couldn’t really come up with anything at all. Guess Happy Rebel and I won’t be doing a collaboration anytime soon…

The tote is excellent quality and I am digging the print so much! It is large enough to fit all your pool stuff AND a box of wine. The bottom is vegan leather so damn spots won’t soak your change of clothing. So no wet socks… golly even typing “wet socks” gave me a shudder of horror and despair.

It totally speaks to my inner cat lady, and helps me represent Tuxedo Cat Style! 

 

Verdict: As you can probably tell I am 100% in love this Happy Rebel’s Summer Poolside box. The black and white colors are stylish and make me feel glam even if I just lay like a beached sea lion by the pool! Every items that was sent was really great quality and things I would totally have bought for myself if I had come across them at a boutique. I am really taken with the curation and personal touches this subscription put into each quarter! I can’t help but be excited with what they come up with next but am happy to say that Happy Rebel 100% made good on sending out a trendy package, that was both on trend and fit the theme.
