Target Beauty Box Review: Men Box – June 2016

Target Beauty Boxes seem to come out every month in a time frame that is as mystical and hard to pin down as getting a good parking spot. It is not a subscription but it does seem to come out each month nowadays. You just have to be fast enough to get in on the deal when it posts. The boxes cost $5 to $7 or $10 and include shipping. They also usually have a coupon with $3 off of $15 or the like.

This box was $5 with free shipping.

They don’t always have men’s boxes which is a shame because I like to use the razors for my legs. They work so well!

Target box indeed!

Nautical – Life Cologne: Hard to say what the scent reminds me off. Guys? I guess? I think it smells pretty ok, but I am a sucker for a more clean scent on a guy. They say that it is a “seductive” blend of ginger, sage, hinkoi wood & marine sea moss that “pays tribute to the lifelong journey of love.” I don’t really see any guy clutching this cologne to his chest dreamily as he plans his wedding… but what do I know?

Marine Sea Moss? So not like say, Marine Desert Moss? Got it!

target9

got2B – Glued Spiking Glue: Remember when spiked hair was a thing? I do! I wanted to have a boys spiked hairstyle so much and would use a bunch of cheap gel to try to get the look. I ended up looking really silly which kinda was normal since I looked silly most of the time back them…

“Glued Spiking Glue?” Why not call it “Glued Spiking Gluing Glue?” Then I would be more convinced!

target11

Marlow – No. 142 Men’s Shave Gel: I would be so sad if I had to shave my face every day. I would totally just wear a beard. It would help to cover up my thin lips and weak chin, so maybe that could work for me. I dunno. Anyway, this stuff should work well on my legs should the bear in my life not want to use it…

I wonder how No. 141 turned out?

target7

Axe – White Label Night Body Wash: This stuff is super blue. Reminds me of the Caress line of body washes that are super colored. At least it isn’t red like those, because I was shocked that my shower looked like a murder scene for a few minutes. The smell of this is very strong. Not my cup of tea.

Great for smelly teens I bet!

target3

Old Spice – Hardest Working Deodorant: I am tempted to try this out on days that I am going to be out in the heat for a long time. I totally sweat a lot so this could be the answer to the question: How can I smell less gross after walking around in the hot sun? I mean sure I will smell like a guy, but a good smelling one at least!

I would rather be a good smelling man than a bad smelling lady!

target6

Dove Men + Care – Complete Care 2-in-1 Shampoo: No need to worry about conditioner when you are a man on the go I guess. Yet, deep inside you still want care. a lot of conflicting moments in the shower for dudes. It must be really confusing to have to deal with so many emotions on so many different levels.

No wonder they never want to talk about, thinking about it, I don’t really want to hear it.

target10

Nivea – Men Creme: Nivea is still one of my favorite lotions and possibly a drugstore HG for my dry skin. I haven’t popped op the foil on this sample so I don’t know if it really smells like a guy or not. It says light masculine scent… I will let you all know if it is strong.

The tin gives it a more manly feel methinks…

target5

Schick – Hydro Men’s Razor: Jackpot, this thing is going to be perfect for my legs. I don’t shave my legs a lot preferring to let my shiny blonde leg hair illuminate my legs until it becomes somewhat offensive. So I need a razor that is sharp and doesn’t drag on my sensitive legs. This is the best!

Why do ladies razors have such thick handles? I hate that.

target8

CeraVee – Hydrating Cleanser Bar: CeraVee has some great products for sensitive skin. My dermatologist is a huge fan of them. This is a perfect sized bar for a vacation. Basically it will show that hotel that you don’t need them and their soap. You stand on your own two feet!

I am glad I only had my mouth washed with soap for saying a bad word once. Once is really all it takes.

target12

Remington – Beard Boss Beard Oil: It really does have a manly scent of timber! I huffed it a little too hard and now I fear I will be smelling this stuff for a week. Golly I hope not! Anyway, they either put this in the box or the Balia Body Powder. I really wanted to body powder so I am kinda salty about it.

Nevermind why.

target14

Verdict: Well worth the money I paid! I like it when there are different options for Target boxes because it keeps it fresh and exciting. It also gives me a break from talking about eyeliners all the time. I do wish there was a way they would let people sign up for the box. I hate having to rush in a flurry to try to buy a box.

That’s a lot of loot! I use that same razor. I used to use the ubiquitous Gillette Mach razors, but became tired of having to take out a payday loan to buy their overpriced replacement blade refills. The Schicks are only somewhat overpriced.
I think the Old Spice, Axe and Got2B really focus on a younger man and the beard and shaving products are for a more mature guy. I’m not sure if Target has a very broad target for this box or if it was unintentional.

LOL Payday loan. Axe is totes for the younger man. But old spice? It says old! Ohh what if Old Spice did a New Spice? If they do I hope they include Nutmeg

Target consistently has great boxes. I hope they do another fitness-y one soon!

(There are some shaving subs out there, but I just steal whatever my husband has).

I want a fitness one! I actually would love for them to do more themes. Ok, I just love all their boxes… I am an addict

Don’t ask about 141… it brings up a lot of bad emotions around the scent office.

By the way, my sister once chose to get a bunch of cologne samples for free from Sephora with a purchase. She didn’t know what to do with them, so I stole all the ones I liked. I tell you, I rarely get compliments from dudes on my perfumes, but when I wore those colognes I got SO many guy compliments! Like, slightly confused compliments sometimes “you… smell… really good” (with the look in their eyes of “but why? it’s familiar and confusing”).

This made me laugh so damn hard! 141 was a dark time for them!!! HAHAHAHA This info is solid gold. Ladies if you are on the singles seen and provided you are looking for a male THIS might be a game changer!

I got this box for husband – sort of. You see, he usually ignore the few men’s samples that I’ve set out of for him in the past (a shampoo from a Wal-mart box or something). But I ordered this figuring that razor more than paid for it – and one of us would use it. Then I could give the box to my sister for her 3 boys (ages 10, 13 & 16).

So the box arrived and I left it on the table as I usually do. My husband took a peek as he usually does even though he knows it’s for me. And he says: “Hey! This is guy stuff!” and sounded a little excited / surprised. I proceeded to tell him about the razor and that anything he didn’t want, I would give to my nephews. Since he has an almost-shaved head, he took out the spiking spiker spikiest glue and… kept the rest! I was kind of shocked. (We got the powder instead of the beard oil and he kept asking me what he was supposed to do with tit… he used it the other day so I’ll have to ask him if he liked it.)

We TOTALLY think alike! The rrazor is always worth it when its for men. They get the best stuff sometimes! Yeah I have ordered stuff for my bear and he just sort of picks over things. I am like “dude just TRY it…” Like some pusher man or something…
