Remember when I last wrote about Golden Tote and I mentioned a facebook group? And how once you join that cult…errr…group, you will cease to care about all other activities on FB?
Well the further down the rabbit hole you go, you find GT (that’s what us culters call it) off-shoot groups. I belong to several. Yes, sound the enabler alert!
Enter The Style Palette Clothing Company and Trading Group
What: A Facebook Group that sells clothing
How: In an auction style release every Thursday at 8:30 pm EST (or 2:30 pm HST)
So right now you are like huh? FB sells clothes? Good Golly, Is Mr Zuckerberg is taking over the world?!
Style Palette was started by some gals who love trendy clothes but hate shelling out lots of dough for them (my kind of gals). They call themselves bargain gals with expensive taste. So they essentially started a “pop-up” or “flash” style facebook store. I have been lurking on their page each Thursday but hadn’t see anything I liked until this past Thursday 5/5.
So here is how the whole process works:
- I see a dress I would like to buy
- I note the price ($31)
- I check the sizing (they post that in the comments)
- I check the inventory under current inventory
as you can see above it says there is only one size small left - Then I comment in the comment section-MINE Sz Small
- Next they send you a paypal invoice that comes to your email
- You pay it
- They ship you your dress! Ahem…did I mention shipping is Freeeeee?!?!
- Doesn’t work out? You can resell on their page
After my last Golden Tote and their new policy of 3 instead of 4 surprises, I am starting to like the idea of Style Palette more and more.
First, I love the auction style event on Thursday. They post spoilers during the week so people get ready on the dot for the sale to be the first to comment on the style they want. I mean clothes shopping is fun but add in an auction style….hehehe and all us competitive girls get giddy!
Next, I love the selection they are carrying. The girls who run it love clothes so they are picking super cool stuff. They also have added an area where you can request that they find certain designers or styles.
Lastly, I like the “mom and pop” aspect of the whole thing or you could say “sister-girlfriend” aspect. These are just a couple of cool girls buying directly from distributors and reselling themselves without store front or a bunch of pushy sales people.
Ok so this post was held up by the USPS! The gals at Style Palette shipped my dress first class so it should have made it here in 4 days. But good ol USPS wanted to show it the country before sending it to the island so it took….wait for it…….wait for it…. 24 days to get here! Whhhhat?! I expect that service from Fedex smart post (as we all know it is neither express or smart) but not from USPS.
It was worth the wait!!
P.s… I really want to stress here that the shipping delay was in NOOOOO way The Style Palette’s fault!!!! Just the USPS trying to teach me the virtue of patience……yep, didn’t work!
Here is my dress!!
Survey Says:
I love this way of buying clothes. I think the gals who run this are doing a great job of finding great brands and offering them at good prices. I pulled this dress out the minute it got here and then wore it all day!!
Ok so if you want to join this group and try it for yourself, here is how you can find them. 1st log into your FB account, next search in the left hand corner The Style Palette Clothing Collections and Trading group, request to join, then read there guide lines on how the group works. Then get your fingers ready to snatch those clothes up!!!
Thanks for this! I just requested to be added to that group. Another one is: DIBS! kitten – a Clothing Co-Op. I haven’t bought anything from there yet, but I will if something I want pops up.
LC, you will love it!! And the best part is that the sale is today!!!
Love these! Another one I like on FB is The Find Auctions! Believe it or not there are several pages out there like this. It is such an awesome idea! https://www.facebook.com/TheFindAuctions/
Oooooh, that looks like a good one too, thanks!
Here’s the link to the group I mentioned in my comment above: https://www.facebook.com/groups/DIBSkitten/
She takes requests for items to find to sell too.
