Ipsy is a subscription that costs $10 a month and sends out four or five deluxe sample size beauty items. Because of the price point it invites comparisons with Birchbox. Ipsy is more make up based, and has a “waitlist.” You can skip this wait if you pimp out your social media. I just emailed and asked to be put on the list and it was done very quickly.

Hot summer indeed, though if I were wearing all that stuff I would be a sweaty gooey mess!
The bag! I like this bag and can see tucking it into my travel case or in my beach bag. I like the material it is textured!
Vasanti – Eyeshadow 2 Brush: We all know that I 100% love getting brushes because I hate cleaning my brushes and now have so many to clean that I might as well burn them before they start their own revolution. This brush really seems nice! It is soft but firm for patting minerals on the lid for a more sultry dramatic look or what my cat Sophia calls “Whore Face.”
My cat thinks tinted lippy can come off too easy, so pay no attention to her judgmental gaze…
The Balm – Meet Matt(e) Trimony eyeshadow (Matt Kumar): Matte cranberry is NOT going to work with my skin. I dunno what I think of The Balms current aesthetics. I remember my first set of bronzer my best friend bought me from this brand years and years ago (yes I still have them which is totally not right I know) and their are pin up ladies. I dig that for whatever reason but not really the new boy line. I just don’t like all these men being forced on me as I would like to get to know the first before I put them on my face!
Matt Kumar do you even like cats?
BellaPierre Cosmetics – Banana Setting Powder: People seem to rave about this type of powder because it works with a lot of skin tones to cover redness and dark circles. I will give it a whirl because I kinda have both. I am not super excited about this brand as it is not fancy and my tastes are for champagne when even beer will do. The size of this sample is again freaking huge. This will last foreverrrrrr
Sad to see there were no bananas in this though…
Make Up Forever – Excessive Lash Mascara: I am far more open nowadays to just try out a new mascara. Before I hardly wore them because I have contacts and sensitive eyes and feelings. My feelings don’t have a lot to do with it but I just wanted to share with you a little bit about me…
Because a blog just isn’t enough
Insta Natural – Age-Defying & Skin Clearing Serum: This has vitamin c (sodium ascorbyl phosphate) which is proven effective on skin and good as a source for vitamin c. It also seems to get pretty high ratings. I was glad to see that this was not the worst thing in the world being sent to my door right? I have so many serums to get through that I might just gift this one.
I could apply facial serum to my whole body every day for like a year and never run out!
Verdict: While not my most favorite bag I am again happy with the value of what I was send. Ipsy is fun because I never know what sort of make up I will be sent! If the banana powder works out it will be well worth the bag price and I already really like the brush. The other products will have to wait their turn on the crazy make up counter!

Great review! I’ve never heard of banana powder before. Is it called that because of the scent or because it can be used to cover up dark spots on bananas?
Thank you! You know what? I have no idea why it is called that and now will go to try to find out. The idea with the banana spots is GENIUS!
Lol! Thanks!
Matt(e) looks like a bro fresh out of business school, ready for cougars. I don’t trust him and he probably would “forget” his wallet at the end of our date. Rude, especially since I ordered the lobster tail stuffed with champagne infused, gold dipped caviar and emptied my bank account taking an Uber to meet Matt(e).
Serum! I love serums and don’t get a ton from my subs… I may actually have to buy one soon (gasp!)
That sounds like something I can help with! I’ll email you right now!
