And here are all the meal components revealed:

image

I wanted to supplement the meal so I added some frozen broccoli and farmer’s market potatoes!

image

Ok I started out with cubing the taters, tossed them with butter in the hot pan for a minute before I placed a lid on it for five minutes. The whole time I was feeling sorry for my husband who does the dishes because there must had been something I did wrong because the taters were sticking to the bottom of the pan.

Have you ever had “burnt-bottom-pan-regret”?

image

So I drown my sorrows (in the form of broccoli) with butter. I already feel better. My mother would drown broccoli in butter and it would be soft (AKA overcooked).

Why do vegetables taste better when their nutrients deplete?

image

Back to my sad taters. At least they are getting browned. I have a tendency to undercook my taters when cooked this way. Which was not part of my plan.

My plan at all times is to overcook them. Brown food tastes good!

image

Back to my weehold. Nicely smooshed and nutrient depleted.

I regressed so much that I forgot to add the parmesan to the broccoli!

image

Ok the potatoes are getting crispy but more (over)cooking needs to be done.

The need to overcook does not bode well when one began with “burnt-bottom-pan-regret”

image

Ummm… naked meat. This looks really raw and graphic. Thanks camera. I flipped over those hunks and plated!

My camera must have an automatic photo enhancement for raw meat.

Hubby’s Plate

image

Added the balsamic glaze for him.

My Plate

image

No (yucky) balsamic glaze for me (means more for him)!

VOILA!!!

image

Pardon the non-placement of Parmesan upon the broccolis.

Verdict:

Noms were had by all. The steak was fantastic. Hubby loved the extra balsamic glaze. I am stoked that I now have an emergency packet of good parmesan cheese as I was on auto-pilot when I forgot to add the parm to the broccoli! Fortunately, I overcooked the vegetable to everyone’s liking. The only issue was the mess I made with some potatoes sticking to the bottom of the pan.

Mmmmm meat and veggies. The cafeteria had brisket with cooked veggies and maple sweet potatoes today, and I was tryyying to eat better this week but I couldn’t resist the brisk!!! I plated a small bit and then continued to imbibe in far too much foodery.

I like your crafty table runner =D

Thanks! Your meal sounds nommy too!

The table runner is actually a cheap fix circle throw bought on the Amazon. It prevented me from buying boxes with a circle throw 😉
