I got the April box this week and realized I hadn’t posted my March box, which I loved!! So, a month late, here’s the March Allure box which had several useful items.
Btw, I’ve got one month left of grad school, and this semester is IN-TENTS! The first three months were writing my portfolio full of reflections on all of my homework. Now it’s four weeks of an intensive, which means one discussion post per week, one 3-7 page paper per week, and 10-15 things to read, as well as one or two 30-60 minute long lectures.
Kill. Me. Now. I’ve got senioritis like cray-cray. I also got six sub boxes in one week… #oops
I’m still not sure why Allure brags about their “mini mag”… it’s an info card.
Le box.
Derma-E Vitamin C Concentrated Serum: $24.50 for 2oz full size. “Brighten skin and boost collagen health, minimizing the look of fine lines and wrinkles while improving the appearance of uneven skin tone.”
It came a bit sticky and gross looking. I’ve yet to try it.
Akar Skin Ruby Tint Lip Butter: $32 for a full size. “Ruby tint lip butter was formulated with the same combination of soothing and nutrient-rich ingredients found in our mini care lip butter. The color is derived from alkanet root and leaves a subtle red hue on your lips.”
I really didn’t think I’d like this, but I do! The color is very light–I smeared it on my ring finger, though you cannot really see it. My lips did feel nice afterward.
Secret Fresh Antiperspirant and Deodorant Invisible Solid in Cool Waterlily: $4.97 for 2.6oz
I semi know what the info card is talking about with scent blindness, but it seemed like a dumb inclusion. Anyway, my Secret gel deodorant has been letting me down lately, and I feel like I forgot to deodorize in the mornings! This stuff was pretty great–it smelled nice, and my pits felt all lubed up and ready for me to swing my arms maniacally. I will be buying a full size.
la kur by Londontown in Cheerio: $16
Kur Nourishing Cuticle Oil by Londontown: $18. “Natural botanical extracts and vitamins that promotes long, strong and healthy looking nails.”
I really like this stuff–it smells great, and I put it on my fingernails and toenails most night. Not sure if it helps, but I hope so =)
Basically wanted to show off my henna more… Also I LOVE this nailpolish color! This is only one or two coats on the middle finger. I’ve painted my nails with it twice since March using three coats; it goes on really well, and I actually really love the color. I shall be buying / swapping for more of this brand!
John Frieda Luxurious Volume 7-Day Volume In-Shower Treatment: $3.99 for 4oz
Ugh. Toss. I don’t need any more volume in my hair, thanks,
Verdict: I really liked this box! The deodorant was used up immediately, I’ve used the lakur polish and really like how nicely it applies, and the kur cuticle oil is lovely. The nail polish alone is slightly over the cost of the box, so I’m happy =D
What do you think? Is this really the only “editor-curated” box? Does anyone really care??
