Face Mask Alchemy Subscription Box Review – December 2017

Face Mask Alchemy

Subscription Box: Face Mask Alchemy

Cost: $10.88 plus tax + shipping

What You’re Getting: A box from our very own Subista Sista, Mailbox Junkie, who moved forward from blogging to creating a YouTube Channel as And The Color Green. She recently created her own subscription box, Face Mask Alchemy. Marie occasionally still dabbles in subscription boxes but her new love is skincare and masking! Marie also has the assistance of a chemist in creating her curated face masks.

And you can totally see a glow in her skin! She knows what she is doing!

Mmmmm…  A Hawaiian Honey Stick. For nomming or masking.

You all know which option I choose!

Sadly, I cannot use the Magi Oil so I will be substituting last month’s Pumpkin Seed Oil.

So let’s start the review… with the nom!

Face Mask Alchemy

Again, this honey is from Hawaii and I must nom it. I will substitute raw honey from Trader Joes in its place.

I always think the best subscription boxes come with a nom 😉

Here are the ingredients of the mask!

Not enough water. Accidentally adds too much water.

Face Mask Alchemy

Too much water (adds more clay).

Now that it is hydrated, I add my substitutes stand ins (the Trader Joe honey and Face Mask Alchemy’s Pumpkin Seed Oil)!

I really like this picture. It looks cool.

And cooler whilst mixing.

All done!

Verdict:

This mask did not dry as fast as last months but I am not sure whether it was due to me overwatering or the ingredients. I liked the slight scrubbiness I felt washing this mask off. I put some plastic wrapping on my leftovers and used it up adding it to my face, neck, chest area before showering. My skin felt sooooo soft afterwards and welcomed/absorbed the moisturizers I placed on my skin afterwards.

I would like to call this subscription a motivational box. Like Grove Collaborative, which is a monthly reminder and motivation to clean, Face Mask Alchemy is a monthly reminder to take care of my face via masking! I did feel like an alchemist this month as it was really cool to see the honey and oil meld with the clay mask components. And it reminds me of our friend Marie of course who curated this for us so we can all achieve glowing skin!
