Taco Bout It Tuesday: Moody Scents

Happy almost Spring!

I was changing out the balsam pine Febreze in the bathroom for some lavender scented spray, and it got me wondering: when do you change your scents?

Do you change them depending on your mood?

When it’s cold out, and the days get shorter and darker, I love deep brooding scents such as balsam, mahogany teakwood, or cedar. And I won’t say no to a pot of tea.

Do you change them by the season?

I went hiking last weekend and could not get enough fresh air scent. I was basically huffing it! It might be a love of nature or the effects of being out of shape…

Do you change scents because of what you’re doing?

My ace bath from a few weeks ago involved putting my nieces to bed, then using their parents’ bathtub with a bunch of sub box items I never get to use! And free wine. 🍷

I change them usually by my mood during each season. Room sprays are generally Febreze. Wall plug-ins come from Bath and Body Works when they are on sale for $3 each.

Here’s my fresh, spring scented haul! I sniffed many candles carefully before deciding which scents to inflict upon my household and our guests.

I do occasionally pick up some 3-wick candles as well from B&BW, while some candles are box surprises or from clearance shelves.

I tidied up my candle collection not too long ago and need to get a candle warmer to use up the last bits of wax in several jars.

Finally, what scents can you absolutely not stand?

Ugh, everything that other people seem to like! I have a very sensitive nose. #1 killer is patchouli… Then vanilla because it hurts my stomach and gives me a headache, but I love vanilla flavor! Cheap  fruity or floral scents also make me feel ill, and coconut just reminds me of black hair products from my childhood. I can’t even put scented stuff in my car because it irritates my senses so much! 😷

Now tell us, what are your scent likes and dislikes, and how do you get your huff on? We know Pnut is team candles, and I just like scents that don’t make me feel sick, but what do you use? If you can’t stand scented stuff at all, let us know that too!

I change my scents when want a room to smell nice or nicer. Also when the scent runs out. I have three BBW wallflowers but I am only using one (by the trash bin) because I am running low on refills. At and under $3 for refills is the best price too and I am waiting for an offer to pop up! The wallflowers refills are the only thing I have been getting lately since I have been refilling the mini sanitizers with Grove Co sanitizer with a touch of makeup loose glitter.

Oh I have a bunch of BBW 3 wicks but they all smell like Christmas trees (they were under $9 each so I snapped them up) so I cannot light them now unless it snows and I get a mood for fir trees. I might do some DIY lotion candles but I have not gotten around to it but I need to because I am running low on my candle stash. You are right on seasonal scents right now I have floral candles lighted.

PSA BBW Is having a BOGO off their 3 wick candles and if you get 4 and use the $10 off $30 its like less than $10. I am thinking about this but I just spent $55 on GMA deals for a Jersey Shore soy candle company last week….

Ok so I was able to close the BBW shopping cart yesterday but I am really obsessed with candles again and made the order. Based on your rec I got a Maghony Teakwood. The other three were Watermelon Lemonade (I was sold on the Jolly Rancher review/commentary), and two different ocean/watery scented candles.
