There are three subscriptions to choose from!
Here are the maps from each Welcome Kit from Left to Right:
(1) World Edition (Ages 6 to 10)
(2) USA Edition (Ages 7 to 12)
(3) Early Explorers Edition (Ages 3 to 5)
The first subscription package you receive is a welcome/discovery kit where the child can put his/her goodies in.
And I subscribed to all three Little Passport Editions using with my own money and I have a backlog of packets to review so you get to decide for yourself if you want to join the fun with your child, niece, nephew, students, or a friend’s wee one.
I digress…
This is a review of the Little Passports USA Edition “Discovery Kit”!
Before I begin, I wanted to let you know because of the age of my wee Pnut people and the suggested age of the USA Edition, I previewed the Little Passports USA Edition’s Discovery Kit to see what components will work for us. You see, I really love Little Passports and want my children to learn about the states despite that age suggestion.
Like Tim Gunn, I made it work!
Also, if you are a Twilight fan, please be sure to read my Little Passports USA Edition and upcoming World Edition reviews, for I really believe one of the main characters, Sam, is really Edward Cullen.
The discovery kit comes with a letter from Sofia as she talks about Sam *cough* Edward *cough*, a map (which is depicted above all my Little Passport reviews), a USA Field Guide, a USA Scratch Book (like you actually scratch it), and an old school disposable camera!
So here is the letter from Sofia…
Did you READ that!?! Sam “just” appeared in her room “Poof! Just like that!” on a bright red scooter from Aunt Charlie.
Like the note then reads “It suddenly all made sense!”
Let’s turn the page because this is a page turner y’all!
“Sam can’t wait to visit…”
And did you see that all in a sudden Sofia’s letter suddenly is now “Sofia & Sam”.
Possessive like Edward.
I digress, I am still receiving my second year of Little Passports USA Edition so I will be able to review all the states in completion. Your second month and every month thereafter, you will receive ongoing monthly State Adventure Kits in where 2 USA States are featured. Goodies include: 32-page activity State journal, stickers for the Discovery Kit’s USA Field Guide, Postcards, Pop-Out models, and online access to activities and lore.
And so I can further investigate this Sam.
Instead of a luggage that comes with the first subscription box delivery with the Early Explorers and World Edition, we receive this folder. I feel that maybe a fancy accordion file would have been a better choice because there is no way all the material received in the subscription series would fit in here. However, all the items of the Discovery Kit do fit in here.
I like big pouches and I cannot lie!!!
See already he (Sam/Edward) is attached to her hip.
Little Passports USA Edition Field Guide – This field guide has some basic profile information, a checklist of states visited, some activities, and a 2 page spread for each of the 50 states (with spots for the stickers the child will receive in every subsequent monthly subscription package).
Here are some preview shots…
Checklist and Profile deets
State Capitals
State Highlights and Field Notes
Little Passports USA Edition Scratch Book – This Scratch Book includes 6 USA scratch pages, 1 blank scratch page, and 1 USA scratch sticker sheet. I have a ton of scratch book and pages from the Amazon all of them Melissa and Doug, so I am holding off on opening this until my Pnut people become less wee.
They are still wee, not wee as they used to be, but they are still wee.
Little Passports USA Edition Disposable Camera – Totally keeping this away from my Pnut people and keeping for nostalgic purposes.
Here is the back of the camera for your viewing pleasure…
Edward also likes nostalgia and being a wisp hair away from Bella…
Verdict: So all in all, with my wee people, I will only have them use the Little Passports USA Edition Field Guide with me so they can put in their stickers and I can fill out relevant information in the guide for them. We are going on another road trip so I have pulled out the relevant states that we will be visiting so we can talk about each of them whilst traveling.
Also, I want to use my reviews to further investigate this Sam individual.
I am on to you Edward.
We LOVE Little Passports! I wanted something special that I could have on hand for my Pnut people so I stocked up on the monthly packages. I feel that the price justifies the quality, educating factor, and enjoyment for all.
And luckily both she and you get to see more than one monthly package a month!

Do you think Sam/Edward could be the same person?
Please share with us your thoughts and/or random commentary below!
Definitely Bella and Edward…
OMG you thought of Sofia as Bella? I thought I would be pushing my weird too far but thank you for confirming my thoughts 😉
Ahhhh… It’s a Twilight/Little Passports Saga…
