You ask for it, we’ll do it!. There are too many wonderful products to include in one post. Let’s savor over our favorites category by category. My favorite eyeshadow primer is…
I do not use eyeshadow primer because I rarely wear eye makeup due to my eye disease. The eyeshadow primer got me thinking about all the steps involved in eye makeup. How does the primer work? Thank you, Artemis, for suggesting eyeshadow primer.
I need to take more cat photos! I’m starting to run out and am now using photos that did not make the first cut.

Too Faced Shadow Insurance! I love it!! It makes any eye shadow last all day on me – no creasing! 🙂
Eye make-up routine for me: primer, 1-2 shadow colors, highlighter color in arch of brow, eye liner (top & bottom usually), then brows (unless I’m in a big hurry), last-but-most-important is mascara (top only because bottom smudges under eyes too easily).
I need to keep an eye on this discussion! I’ve tried a few different types of primer and haven’t had much success with any of them. Love the HG series; it’s helping me find new things to try!
Keep an “eye” on this discussion… ha! 🙂
Thank you! I’ll be here all weekend…
Thanks Sub Bella! I’m very curious what everyone’s favorite is. Without eyeshadow primer, I find my liners and shadows fade very quickly, so it is a must for me.
My favorite primer is Nars Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base. It is one of the few products I will rebuy rather than trying something new. I also liked the LORAC one that came with the Pro palette, but given a choice, I would rebuy Nars.
I will say this: I hate the Urban Decay primers. I know they are popular, but I find them to be a little greasy/watery and they make my shadows crease more than they would without primer.
My eye makeup routine varies depending on time/occasion. Usually I don’t wear any (one of the perks of wearing glasses), but when I wear contacts, I will wear anything from just a liner and mascara, to a full on multiple shadows and liners look. When I need to dress up and am short on time, I just go for the quick smokey eye.
Urban Decay applied sparingly (I hear ya Artemis)!
I’ve had zero luck with primers, most shadows are liners hold up on my lids.
