Last chance! Will you be ordering a box?
I placed my order in the middle of the July using the code. I believe that the box will be shipping soon.
Very pretty, thanks Subbella.
Thanks! I’m a little nervous because this is the debut box. I signed up for every other month. The owner has been wonderful communicating with me. I can’t wait for the box to arrive.
MSA just posted a review on this box…
Thanks! I love the shower curtain. The owner sent me a sneak peak of my crate which looks like it has whites and creams in it. I went conservative with the bathroom because it’s a new box. I’m going to hold off judging until it’s in my hands. I do feel bad for Liz because she prefers neutrals over colors.
OMFG! That was the worst box I’ve ever seen. I hope yours is better [redacted]. It looked to me like the guy stocked up at the Anna’s Linens Going out of business sale. The stuff at Ali Express is much more modern, so I know he didn’t order it from there.
It will be interesting to see what I receive. I went very conservative for the bathroom being it was a new box. I did like the shower curtain in the MSA review, but even I don’t own red towels.
I own red towels. I love red. But I don’t care what color they are, if I got unbranded cheap-ass towels like those after having paid $85, I’d be livid. Note that Liz did not mention either the material nor where they’re made.
In reality, I don’t think it’s financially possible for a box not associated with a large company to provide a good value. And I think that’s specially true for any box that is reviewed on MSA or the other major blogs. As much as I love Liz and I’m grateful for MSA, if a subscription box company is paying her and other bloggers $10-$20 per referral, that’s a big chunk of money that will not be spent on product procurement.
I use red as an accent color in the master bedroom in the farmhouse. It looks great. I’ve always been afraid to have red towels because they might bleed in the wash. I noticed the details missing in Liz’s review. I’m not pleased they are unbranded. I did receive an email that there are changes coming to linen crate.
I also had the same thoughts when I first discovered how much boxes paid in referral money. It’s crazy! I can’t complain because I do benefit from the swap site. I hate to see what her bill is every month for her website.
Yet, it is a great point. Referral money is not going to product procurement. Have you read the CrateJoy forums? It’s interesting reading the behind the scenes. Things like that interest me. I used to have lots of time to kill while waiting for my sister at her doctor appointments and would pass the time reading about subscription boxes.
Yep, I love to read the behind the scenes as well and I’ve been all over the Cratejoy fora. That’s where I found out that they recommend to spend 20-30% of the median revenue for costumers on products. Honestly, I don’t see how anyone that is not a large corporation or who has deep contacts in their industry, can produce a good box under those conditions. At that point, it really has to be about the curation. And what’s clear about the Linen Crate owner, aka Mr Toilet Seat Cover, is that he shouldn’t be curating anything himself.
Nana, something tells me that you will not be subscribing to the box 🙂
