Subscriptionista added a few comments! Check them out.
Sunshine Crate released their first crate in May 2015. It’s a small company run by a woman with a cute kitty named Mandy. I came across it when searching for clothing subscription boxes. I tried the accessory crate and ran into a small problem.
I happened to go back to the website to find her contact information on the same day as the clothing crate release. I decided to take a chance on the clothing crate without knowing how the accessory crate issue would be resolved. The owner resolved everything to my satisfaction. The blue package is a replacement item. She was responsive and helpful.
I ordered on August 27th and paid by PayPal. I received a tracking number on August 31st. The package arrived on September 3rd via USPS 2-day shipping. Shipping for the mini crate is $5.97.
I filled out the style profile after placing my order. The style profile is kept for future reference. You can add a Pinterest link.
I should had copied what I wrote for my preferences. I’m fairly certain that I included my bra size, my height, bold colors over pastels, no mismatch patterns ex. stripes in one spot with polka dots in another spot, and I did not want see through shirts or worry about what bra to wear. I also did not want to look boxy.
I did not tell her I am in my 40s. I have a 7 year old and am around younger mothers often. I want to look stylish, not their mother! I ordered the clothing based off what I saw on Facebook and a couple of reviews. Age is a number!
This is where my lack of expertise in clothing subscription boxes hurt me. The clothes that I received in the other clothing subscription box review I wrote did not come in plastic bags. I do not know if there is a standard. I do know from working in retail back in my 20s that some brands come in bags as shown in above. Some did not.
Pink Owl is also featured in Golden Tote. I am mentioning this because readers may compare this against Golden Tote. The Made-in-China 100% polyester shirt has a fun fall print.
The sleeves came in right by the elbow. It’s perfect for me in the fall season. The sleeve did not bother my arm.
It was unseasonably warm today. There are no pictures of me wearing the shirt. The shirt accented my bust area and did not leave me looking boxy.
Subscriptionista: I 100% dig this top!!! While I wish for some bust shots (gotta get those readers lol) I can see why you like this because the print is so happy. Sub Bella loves bright colorful prints while I am pretty much into solid colors. This print is going to be perfect for fall and then for spring!
I love the shirt. It’s perfect for mid September and later. Average temperatures for this time of year is in the mid 70s.
The button-down sweater came in its own packaging.
There is a size chart to help you determine what size to order.
The made-in-China Xtaren brand sweater is made out of 100% acrylic.
I love the pattern on the back.
The sweater has pockets. I will be using the sweater as an outdoor sweater once the temperature drops in a few weeks. Fall temperatures are short-lived. It has snowed in October.
Subscriptionista: Snow in October bums me out. I love sweaters like this because they can be worn in so many ways! Like you can wear them with leggings while eating a chocolate croissant in front of a 24 Hour Fitness, or pop it over shorts on a cool night while peering over your fence to see if your neighbors are secretly owners of a hot tub time machine.
The accessory is 3 bracelets that stack together. It’s a fun casual bracelet set.
Subscriptionista: The colors remind me of Raiders colors which sort of makes me think that you might end up dropping some chicks whilst wearing this… awesome.
Verdict: Sunshine Crate nailed it for me. My husband thought I selected the items myself. These pieces are reflective of my personality. I’m very impressed and very happy with my selection. The bracelet is fun, but may be a little young for me. I can’t decide if I should keep it or give it to my sister. I’m fine with that because I knew the crate marketed towards a younger crowd. I love what I received and will apply for the blogger program that Sunshine Crate offers. I did not want to apply without trying out a crate first.
What do you think of the August Sunshine Crate? Are you planning to purchase a crate on Thursday, September 10 at 9:00am PT? Share below and anything else on your mind.
I love the shirt and I have a similar sweater, great crate. I will look into this for sure, thanks S and S.
It is now my life’s mission to eat a chocolate croissant in front of a 24 Hour Fitness.
