Globein1

GlobeIn is a subscription that seeks to bring the world to you every month in the form of carefully curated artisanal goods from throughout the world. They take the time to make sure items are fairly traded and therefore support artists and their work. This theme is really important to me as a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer I saw first hand while serving how much it can mean to an artist, family, and whole community to be fairly paid for their hard work. It can mean a drastically better life!

GlobeIn has two boxes:

Artisan Box: $35 a month, $33 per month with a 3 month subscription, and $30 a month with a 6 month subscription. Use coupon codes WELCOME to save 25% off of your first box with a 3 month subscription!!!

Benefit Basket: A smaller version of the Artisan Box that has one item nestled a basket: $19.99 a month or $56.95 every 3 months. Use coupon code TRYBENEFIT to save $7 off of a 3 month subscription!!!

I had no idea I would getting a box this month and squealed with full on joy! My bear doesn’t understand the joy I feel but I know you ladies get it!

Globein2

The theme this month? Bathe!

Globein6

Atlas – Pestemal Bath Towel (Denizil, Turkey): Atlas helps families earn money through a craft that is older than the Ottoman period. Both men and women work of making the towels and each towel sold helps to support families to afford school for their children and costs of living.

Subscribers were sent out a variety of colors and mine is sunny and totally ready to usher me into the sunshine! I have been a big fan of Turkish towels because the more you wash them the more soft they get and they are great for so many uses!

Yes you can use this as a picnic blanked and no one will know it is a also a towel…fancy!

Globein4

Alafia – Lemongrass Citrus African Black Soap & Shea and Red Palm Body Lotion (Togo): In rural Togo women have a 1 in 32 chance of dying in pregnancy or childbirth. Probably the most scary thing I could think of and one could imagine living in a village where this was a reality. Also youth have to walk miles to get to school, unlike your parents and grandparents who might be stretching the truth in their “uphill both ways” accounts.

Alafia was founded by a Togolese man and a Peace Corps volunteer to help with the issues that are at the forefront of rural life. Products come from natural resources and traditional recipes. They smell divine!

Yeah, I was in the Peace Corps and did not get NEAR anything like this accomplished…

Globein7

Bambu Tekstil – Hand towel (Izmir, Turkey): Otak started his business in 2004 and has since built is up in so that it provides employment for 45 members of his community. Members of my community? Yeah, they don’t even clean up after their dogs messes. I might be living in the wrong area…

The towel is soft and I love the color I was sent. Both towels remind me of the sun and the ocean! Summer is my favorite so I have a little piece of it in my place.

So soft, I want a bathrobe made out of this!

Globein5

Emre Ustun – Silk Face Scrub (Bursa, Turkey): I have a feeling people in Turkey are pretty into their baths! This was made by a woman who is continuing in the steps of her Grandfather which is touching. You take this and exfoliate your face with it when you wash. They say a lot about boosting collagen and the like, however it just has the benefits of gentle exfoliation.

Might be helpful for those who has sensitive skin or just really enjoy “nature’s most luxurious miracles.”

Globein8

Basket: Every month you will usually get a basket. I love these and have been storing all my various sundries in them. It makes my place look a lot more neater and it has been fun collecting them. They hide my messy shame in style!

Globein9

Verdict: GlobeIn always stays true to it’s mission and that impresses me. They don’t trump of the value of products and it is always a treat to learn about each product. I am really looking forward to using these items and having a little luxury even if my showers are usually quick. I think I will be finally inspired to take one of those super awesome bubble bathes shaving commercials seem to favor!

Wow you really lucked out and received beautiful variations of the towel and the basket! I love turkish towels too and hope the goats are listening so that they may be a returning trend in 2016 as they were for most of 2014.

Well they are a syndicate at war with other groups who are trying to rule the subscription box market. Much like the Illuminati. So yeah, they are going to be around. I refuse to write them out of the intricate crazy theory I thought up lol

I can’t believe we didn’t include them in our 2015 awards for best execution of themes! I dub them the winner. I think they are so creative over there and love their commitment!

That is a sad oversight by us that should be made right at the end of this year! I totally love how they go with every theme with open arms!
