Subscription Box: Glossybox
Disclosure: BoxKraze pays for this subscription box, using money from her real-life job hehe. By clicking the link above, you will be selecting my referral link, by subscribing using my link I will earn points that go towards earning a free Glossybox.
Cost: Glossybox has different plans that you can choose from. Their monthly plan is $21, however, if you think Glossybox is for you, I recommend choosing one of their extended plans which makes each box more affordable. Glossybox 3 month plan is $58.50, 6 month $111 and 12 month $210. However, you can still get awesome deals by subscribing to their e-mails and taking advantage of sales which make boxes even more affordable. I subscribe to their yearly plan.
Why Glossybox? Glossybox prides themselves in delivering a great unboxing experience that includes deluxe-sized beauty products from a wide variety of brands.
So…..let’s get started with the fun and begin the Glossybox unboxing experience!
Each Glossybox comes in a standard soft pink color. Every once in a while however, they will have special edition boxes that are so cute you will want to hoard them all!
Glossybox sends up to 5 deluxe and sometimes full-size beauty samples (which makes me so happy because I loooove full size items). Crossing fingers that this is an awesome box.
I like that this month there is a variety of products in the box that include haircare, skincare and makeup.
Triffle Cosmetics – Lip Parfait Buttery Lip Cream, Full Size: $19
This lipstick is not only cruelty free but also it is made with cocoa butter which makes it go on really smooth. I absolutely love the fact that I got this one because I love Pugs. I always smell every product I receive (if appropriate lol, don’t think I am crazy, ok maybe I am a little, but who doesn’t like stuff that smells good?), this lipstick actually smells really nice. I think the shade I received is very pretty and better than if I would have gotten the nude shade ( I hate nude lipsticks).
Borghese – Active Mud for Face and Body, full-size retails for $37 (7oz)
The item provided in the August Glossybox is only 1oz, so the value of this item is actually very low for the sample. However, I am really glad that I get to try this one out, I have never tried mud treatment. I have tried charcoal treatments, so we will see how this turns out. I am probably going to look scary and my husband will ask why am I putting dirt on my face, lol.
Invisibobble – The Traceless Hair Ring, Full Size: $8 (3 pieces)
I have never tried the Invisibobble but I think it is a great item for those of us who have a sensitive scalp. According to the info card from Glossybox, this bobble allows for hair to be hold tightly together without causing knots. I think it’s a pretty neat idea, I will probably use these to work out because of the color (hot pink). The invisibobbles are very small, I think over time they will stretch from use, but I may be wrong.
DeBruyere – After Sun Lotion Monoi, Full Size: $12
I am unsure of where you can purchase this item in the U.S, I tried doing some research but all the links took me to the French sites. This lotion smells pretty great and it is supposed to hydrate your skin after being exposed to the sun. You can see from the picture that I tried it already. It is a little runny but it absorbs quick. (Now, don’t look at my nails because I know they look terrible …let’s just say they have a rustic nail polish style ha ha).
Too Faced – Mascara Melt Off, Full-Size: $17 (.23oz)
This is a very interesting product that I have never tried before. I do use waterproof mascara and I hate the fact that even when I try to take it off sometimes it just rubs all over my face and I end up looking like a raccoon. Hopefully this product will solve those issues. The Glossybox info card has step by step instructions on how to use it, you are to leave on the cleansing oil for 60 secs and then just wipe away the dissolved mascara.
Wella – Oil Reflections Smoothing Oil, Full Size: $20 (1 oz)
This is another oil for your hair, according to the card it is supposed to help give heat protection and you can apply it to damp hair. The oil smells good but I have not tried it on my hair yet. The only concern I would have with it is hoping that my hair won’t actually look or become oily.
I am really happy with my August 2016 Glossybox, I think they included products that are high quality overall.
The value of the box exceeds the monthly cost so it’s a win. I have seen from other posts that there are some differences in some of the products received in the boxes this month. What did you think about the August 2016 Glossybox? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

Awe thanks for the welcome, lol omg I think thats a great idea. How about creating a Buddapest Hotel our of Glossy’s lol
sdbear I would love a Wes Anderson themed house! Also, there’s a great SNL faux trailer that mixed Wes Anderson with a horror film and it was amazing.

Welcome. I fussed a little over my Glossy I think we were box twins. I just fished out that french lotion because it reminds me of Hawaii and we all know how I love all things aloha.
Will you continue to get Glossy? I am going to get something else when my sub runs out I am not a fan of great variations in box value. This is why I will not get Oui Please although I just want the box only lol.
