A Random Subless Series Post always needs to be posted on a Sunday!
Ok so last month I asked the question:
Who feels so subless they signed up for the new Macys subscription box!?!
Well… I sort of signed up. After seeing the spoilers and realizing it was not that great as Sephora (which I previously cancelled and needed to fill a cheap beauty box hole in my heart I digress), I went to cancel my order for the next month. But there was no account I could find with any of my emails. I called and was told that I had to cancel online (even though the website says you can cancel via phone). So I sent two inquiries to customer service and received two separate responses that confirmed that I did not have a Macy’s Beauty Box subscription.
So what I think I did was submit my credit card info and pressed ok. Which probably meant the screen I left open and later shut down was the “Submit Order” page and not the “Invoice” page.
So I dodged the bullet.
Speaking of dodging bullets, I dodged my second bullet when I signed up for Beauty Choice Rewards and then cancelled upon the review of most of the spoiled items.
The Colorscience Sunforgettable Loose Mineral Sunscreen Brush slips my paws again.
So in sum, I am doubly subless. But sorta doubly happy about it. I spent the $60 that was for Beauty Choice Rewards for a ThredUp order (that highlighted link gives you $10 credit for your first order and gives me $10 in credits that I need because its my temporary obsession until my free shipping expires I digress).
Oh just in case you thought I abandoned my dear friend, Amazon, I did not go nuts on Prime Day. I find the multiple deals too overwhelming (plus I get tired of constantly camelcamelcameling) but I did get some more wipes and dipes for a steal. Husband got the $5 credit with a $25 gift card (to us lol) and coconut water that was cheaper than via Save and Subscribe. On the other hand, I did drop the Amazon STEM subscription because STEM for littles = too many little toy pieces.
Have you substituted a sub box loss with an online store purchase?
What are you looking forward in July? We will receive PUSHEEN any day now!!!

I did not buy anything for Prime Day because I was also overwhelmed by deals and where to begin. Not needing any tech like Alexa or an XBOX, I wasn’t really interested.
I just watched for any good postings on hip2save which were only wipes and dipes for the squeakers. I think Prime Day and Amazon’s Black Friday is overated the best deals usually are at random I always camelX3 notifications.
I also didn’t buy anything on Prime Day but that’s because we knew my company was doing layoffs that day and sure enough… my role was eliminated. So I haven’t spent any money in over a week except for groceries and one dinner out with my hubby. I also canceled several of my sub boxes and “skipped” a month for the rest just until I see how things go.
The good news is that I got a GOOD severance package (16.5 years at company will do that) and I no longer have to drive 30 miles (45-60+ minutes) each way to and from work every day! I’m also really excited to enjoy a little time off and then try something new (or something similar at a new place) since I was getting seriously burnt out at my old job. This layoff was definitely a blessing in disguise.
Heat, I’m sad that your job was eliminated, but happy that you get to find something new! Perhaps become the next Ken Jennings??
Thanks, only if it’s all pop culture trivia!
I’m glad that you got a good severance package and that it was a blessing in disguise. I wish you well on your new path in life.
Thank you Farmcat!
A blessing in disguise in the height of summer! Also, as my spirit sister, not that many primo sub boxes to snap up 😉
I’m happy that everything worked out for you. Good luck at your job search/new job.
I caught the tail end of prime day deals. I had gotten an elephant print that is on a dictionary page for a present for. a toy for my nephew as an upcoming birthday present, and a beautiful turquoise blue satin robe with peacocks for myself. It was my first prime deal day. U had found it a little confusing and a bit overwhelming with so many choices.
Yes totally overwhelming but I am glad you overcame adversity and came out an Amazonian hero with primo presents!
I found Amazon Prime day to be overwhelming. I checked a couple categories throughout the day. I ordered a couple of things including binoculars for my eight year old. He loves to birdwatch.
Oh cute! Has he tried them to skywatch in the evening? I haven’t your comment made me think of that. Oh and the nosebleed seats at events too! Pipsqueak has kiddie ones used for Disney on Ice I gotta see whether it can be used for those other ideas. Its squirreled away but I have been cleaning/purging. I digress thank you for your commentary it made me thoughtful!
