Saturday Empties Extravaganza

Disclosure: All items were purchased by me. There are affiliate/referral links in this post.

I plan to make this a weekly feature mainly because I do not want to keep empties in my house for a month! My next step is to set up an email specific for this blog. I am hoping that others will email their pictures and make this blog post a bit more interactive.

This week's empties!
This week’s empties!

I cheated a little. Not all are from subscription subs. I go through a lot of hair products because my hair is long and thick.

The non-sub items.
The non-sub items.

Mineral Fusion Lasting Color Conditioner: Are you ready for the list? It’s sulfate free, gluten free, paraben free, and cruelty-free. It keeps my hair from knotting that is a must. Made in the USA.

Shea Moisture Superfruit Complex 10-in-1 Renewal System Hair Masque: This masque was featured in the Target Spring 2015 box which I did not purchase. Here’s a list of what is not in the product: sulfates, parabens, phthalates, paraffin, gluten, mineral oil, synthetic fragrance, dea or animal testing. It works great as a conditioner. Made in the USA.

Huile Beauty Oil
Huile Beauty Oil

Huile Oliv’ Beauty Oil: I swapped for the oil that is from the Oui Please May 2015 box. I used the beauty oil as hair oil and applied it in damp hair. It may have lightened my hair a little. It kept my waves and curls soft and well-defined. This is made in France.

Yarok Feed Your Ends Leave-In Conditioner
Yarok Feed Your Ends Leave-In Conditioner

Yarok Feed Your Ends Leave-In Conditioner: The leave-in conditioner is from the Birchbox Limited Edition Fresh Start. I’m resisting the urge to retake the picture. It’s a quiet house right now, Must resist the urge. It’s free of gluten, alcohol, paraben, sulfates and cruelty. It’s 100% vegan.  I apply it in damp hair. I can use this product without any styling products in my hair and still have a good hair day.

Muellin & Sparrow Facial Oil
Muellin & Sparrow Facial Serum

Mullein and Sparrow Facial Serum:  I used this on my neck because it felt a little thicker than other serums. It was nice to use, but I am not going to purchase a full-size. The label came off the bottle last week.  This is the replacement item in my July 2015 Goodebox.

I finally used up the Drunk Elephant Serum from a PopSugar LE box (spring maybe). It takes me a long time to use that stuff up!

I liked it. When I’m out of other serums from boxes I will probably purchase this one. It had a bit of an odd smell but I noticed a difference in the firmness of my skin around my eyes.

I remember reading about the serum. It seemed very popular.

I love love love that serum body spray. Also the scrub from the same company from MSA/kloverbox. Hope we see more of that brand in sub boxes!

      I love them both too!

Funny how I was sort of meh about the MSA Kloverbox (not rabid about it by any means but not crazy in love either) and today I realized that I use all the items I haven’t gifted (the pillow and Tacha) a ton!

I used my scrub today and my skin feels so soft even my cat was like “nice” (ok she didn’t say that but she did leave a good amount of cat hair on me which I take to mean that)

I should take pictures of what I use up. Been pretty lax on some things lately. Need to go sort my stash again and find a bunch of stuff to try. Actually last weekend (?) or was it two weekends ago I broke out a bunch of lip gloss and lip sticks. Got to try a bunch of brands and I did not like them I chucked them. Felt very decedent to do so, but most of what I tossed had a bad taste to me so I would not use them anyways. The whole reason I do boxes is to try new stuff. And the overflowing box of lipsticks is telling to start trying………..

I agree. I either need to gift my lip stuff or open and try. I am super picky about lip items because I love a cooling feeling. I am addicted to the feeling. So… Buxom lip glosses are my go to. I will keep trying other in vain… Better to try and throw out then not try and well, throw out!

Hmm, no sub box empties this week, I used up a Benedetta rosemary hydrating elixir, a brown sugar scrub from etsy seller, Whipped upp, and Hawaiian tropic sensitive faces sunblock. Thank you.

Not the right place, but I finally tried the chocolate mascara from 100% Pure. I did one eye with their tea black and the other with the chocolate. Did not smell as good as I was hoping, but it was nice. My coloring does better with the black, but my husband loves when I actually use the mascara and eyeshadows all over the bathroom…. (And is not picky on either black or chocolate. I may have to check out their blueberry mascara formula, my eyes are blue could be interesting.

You are lucky to have blue eyes!!! I always wanted them. Sigh!

I have been using more brown eyeliner lately (I used to use just black) and I like how it softens my look. Blue mascara might look super futuristic! Like, if you came to visit yourself from the future, Future You would have blue mascara, and Present You would just have normal.

As an aside, I totalllllly imagine what it would be like to meet a future me. Would I believe me? What would I have to say to me to make sure I didn’t freak out?

    • August 2, 2015 at 8:25 pm

I used to wear blue mascara all the time when I was younger. I’m glad that they turned out nice.
