Beauty DNA Subscription Review – October 2015

Beauty DNA – the subscription I cannot seem to shake – offers the most customization of any beauty subscription you can possibly sign up for. I mean this in every sense of the word. When you sign up you will be given what can only be called a midterm exam full of questions about what you like, what you want, what you don’t want, and all the ingredients that you will accept and not accept.

I remember when I first came across this subscription. About halfway through the questions I KNEW this subscription would be better for Sub Bella. I am pretty easy going when it comes to ingredients and I am only now starting to understand how many weird things I have been slathering on my skin in the name of beauty.

I ended up getting a month or two of the subscription but decided to give the rest of my months over to Sub Bella because as I said before, she could actually make good use of such a subscription. Then my sister saw a sale on it, and signed me up as a surprise. So… I will give it go, and if I feel like it is not getting good use then poor Sub Bella will have to take it over yet again…

If customization is important to you, if you can’t just slap on whatever you are sent then you pretty much HAVE to try out this subscription. It is for you. It is impossible NOT to be.

Cost: $25 a month/free shipping

PHYTO Paris – Secret de Nuit Intense/Hydration Night Cream: The value of this is $38 which most people would side eye given the $25 price tag per month of the subscription. Because I got this subscription as a gift and the gift was also at a discount, I have very little room to complain. I also really like that they picked a product to soften my hair as I sleep. I have been using Living Proof – Perfect Hair Day Nightcap from the Nina Garcia Hair Box that Sub Bella sent me, and I absolutely LOVE it. So this is very exciting for me to try out!

This cream is actually $10 more than the Living Proof stuff, which boggles my mind. I looked up the product on Sephora and really enjoyed reading the reviews. As an aside, is it just me or are reviews on Sephora getting sorta serious? Not to point out any one reviewer but dang, it is OK if someone doesn’t like your hair product. It doesn’t mean that they don’t know how to use it… sheesh. Also one reviewer used the word “dosage” and I thought that was interesting. These ladies really get into it, and I could probably have a whole blog dedicated to my thoughts on Sephora reviews.

The scent is a little on the flowery side but it is a light fragrance. It is free of bad stuff like parabens and fancy black orchid. I will try it out and maybe do a head to head (or should I say hair to hair) review between the two products.

If I can sleep my way to better hair then I want to snore my way to whiter teeth!

Verdict: I am happy to receive a quality hair product that fits my needs perfectly. I see the value in this subscription and as always, I 100% recommend it for those ladies who know what they want and what they don’t want. Beauty DNA really tries to get it right and it’s tough to go wrong. I almost want to go back in my profile and really make it difficult to see if they can do it!

I like their pick! I’m a fan of every living proof product I have tried so I’m curious as to your thoughts on this after you have a chance to compare it. I’m pretty easy going on ingredients too, but this sub always tempts me.

Thanks girl! I really should do a comparison. I love the living proof so much I bought the Nina box when it went on sale to hoard more of it lol

If I see a sale for the sub one of us will try to announce it. The vouchers kick butt!

What a nice sister! You must do a post on comparing the two products. People want to know! It goes well with your Phyto from Glossybox.

Hanna I thought that about the matching brands! She is nice most of the time. It’s funny because she recalled me talking about the subscription and thought she would treat me. However the conversation she heard me talk about it was how I was going to pass the sub on to you because you’re a better tester for this type of thing. Sigh… Still it was nice
